Yup, the S3 is honestly just playing catch-up to the 4S at the point. Samsung is just pathetic.

No one has been able to name something the S3 can do that the 4S can't. For so many droid fanboys lurking in this thread, thats pretty sad
here are a few thing the iphone cant do but the Galaxy S3 can do with ease:
- Facial Unlock
- 2GB of RAM nuff said!
- expandable memory via SD card.
- comes with 50GB of dropbox storage!!!!!!!
- Video Chat over 4G and 3G
- 4.8 inch 720p Display screen for gaming and movie viewing.
- Android Beam and S Beam
- LTE!
- Smart Stay ( google it and learn about it )
- Smart Alerts
- Pop Up Play, being able to watch a movie or video while doing any action like playing a game or send a text or on the phone.
- ability to change screen mode from cool blue display to warm yellow to dynamic contrast etc, meaning no more complaining that my screen is yellow and not blue like when the iphone came out!
- VOICE AWAKE! Saying Hi Galaxy will wake up phone!!!!!!!!!

Someone say tha the S3 has the same camera as the 4S from last year??,?

It's a camera jointly developed by Sony and Samsung. Has a bunch of new feature tho................

I think its hysterical that Samsung choked and dont have the balls to go toe to toe with the new iPhone.

All their GSIII models launched a paltry 8 months after the GSII in the USA. That's pretty much conceding the iPhone will be the instant industry leader and top seller.

The GS2 has been out for over a year outside of the US. It's release was staggered due to US Carriers demands for differentiation. This was not the fault of Samsung or the consumer. With the massive success of the Galaxy S line, Samsung now have the pull to call the shots. Hence you now see as close to a world release as possible. This is a huge plus to North American buyers. How you are able to twist this as Samsung not having the balls to go toe to toe with Apple is beyond athletic and sheepish.

Galaxy S3 and it's successor have the strength to put a dent into apple over the next few years............
Galaxy S3 will be a hit, heck i bet Tim Cook is using on right now....................................

Can someone find a pic of Tim Cook with a Galaxy S3 :D

Audio: Spotify 320kbs bitrate, not available on Android.

I told you that was always going to be a temporary thing; the beta version of the ice cream sandwich spotify supports "extreme" (320kbps) quality.

There are download instructions here:

It's a lot more stable than the normal spotify version too :) (on ics)

Wirelessly posted

Will the white exterior of the s3 end up yellow after a while?

So it should be good for the life of the contract you think?

If you or people you live with smoke it'll be more likely to turn yellow, otherwise I think you'll be fine.

If anyone's wondering what the battery is like:-

6h 49m since unplugged
4h 6m screen on time
2h Spotify (either through phone speakers or through headphones jack)

6% remaining.

Would usually be a bit better but I was without a signal 42% of the time (bad signal means more battery used maintaining a connection and searching for a signal)

Not bad :)

How do you like the size over the GSII, that was your previous phone right? That's the one thing I'm not sure about, love the size and form of mine at 4.3"... I mean it barely seemed bigger than my iPhone, but some of these newer phones not sure about. Used a buddies Note and it as too big for me, nothing against it as I fully respect the little niche Samsung nailed with it, but just not for me lol. Kinda hoping we'll still see good Android phones in the 4.3" range. Not looking to switch anytime soon anyway since this phone is flat out amazing on the Rom I'm using.

Doesn't seem much bigger other than when trying to reach the upper left corner of the screen. I prefer the shape of the iii, feels really ergonomical to hold.

I'll just throw this out there because I came across a thread at XDA where a Mac user was having no luck connecting his SIII to his MBP using Kies.

Has anyone here had luck with connecting their SIII to a Mac? I'm assuming you are using Kies? This is crucial because the last thing I'd want is to get the SIII and not be able to add media accordingly using my MBA.

You could use Kies Air and use your web browser to up/download stuff.

Not sure about connecting it via a cable.

Let's wait for next week and see what Apple has to offer. I am sure they will have something better to offer than this.

The SIII has Way more gimmicks.

Has anyone used the face unlock in a night club or the bedroom in the dark? Does it work? Lol

As for guys talking about video calls over 3G there is a app for it...Tango

I'm sure the iphone 5 will be great, but without unlimited data it's worthless too me. There is now way Verizon will allow iphone 5 adopters to remain on the unlimited data and thats THE dealbreaker for me.

Actually, there is a way. Buy the iPhone at full price (unsubsidized). You can stay on unlimited data.

it's not fair to compare samsung galaxy 3 and iphone4 for now. Of course galaxy s3 is better than iphone 4

If you mean the feature that keeps the screen on when you look at it, it doesn't even work outside in the daylight lol :( hoping a fix is coming soon!

I wouldn't hope too much for a quick fix. The major reason I came back to iOS after owning a plethora of Android powered phones is the fact that updates took forever, sometimes because the carrier didn't release it, and sometimes because a newer phone had come out.

I'm not trying to bash Android as I like the system, but iOS you know you have a device that will be fully supported for 2 iterations of the software. It may not get every feature, but it gets most.
