And how exactly did you get to spend a day with a phone that hasn't been released?
Go away troll.

I guess you have zero knowledge Jb07

The phone was out in Dubai last week. I was there on a work trip and did pick it up.

You picked it up, used it for a day and then what? Returned it to Dubai telecom (or whatever they have there)?

I stand corrected. But I don't have "zero knowledge" because I didn't know that it was going to be released a week early in Dubai.

There actually is no evidence that it was. And if it was, 1 day of use wont give you time to play with all it can do and he posted this thread the same day.

That's because the guy is full of it. He didn't do shlt with the GS3, and I have no problem calling him on it. His post screams of hate for Samsung and insecurities he holds for his own phone of choice. It's quite sad that so many people that blindly stay loyal to a brand and get so upset when people that own the same brand as them start looking else where. Insecurities in full effect.

Maybe that's why the OP didn't give an extensive review. If something feels like crap in your hands, you don't even need 5 min to judge it.

If I test drive a car and the seats are extremely uncomfortable, that's a wrap. I wouldn't care about any greatness that car has to offer.

So those Samsung phones sold so well they must be the best sellers?

Well no, No1 selling smartphone ....... iPhone4

Must be 2nd best then?

Sorry No2 best selling smartphone ........... iPhone3gs

Well third place is better than nothing

oops sorry 3rd place goes to ........ iPhone4s

Gotta realise that the 4s was only on sale for 3mths of 2011

FYI

I don't normally participate in these bun fights but it was just too easy :D

If apple sold hundreds of different iPhones none of those would be top sellers either. Android devices, collectively, are more popular than all iPhones collectively, but individually, because there's so many Android devices, they're not as popular.

Dude if I don't like the feel of it why would I use it. If a shirt does not feel good if you wear it would you still wear it and test it out for a few wear if it grows on you. I guess not.

its not insecurities here, its what I have to use on a daily basis and if it does not feel good why would I bother using it.

Most phones pre-ordered: Samsung Galaxy S3 with 9 million units. That's sold, not shipped. And you can't even get one in the U.S. yet, one of Samsungs largest markets!

First company to sell 50+ millon smartphones in a quarter. Analysts predict Samsung to be the first this quarter, thanks to the S3.

Samsung may be best known as Samesung by Apple devotees, but it is the only company matching Apple pound for pound in the heavyweight class.

Yeah but it didn't even outsell the 3 year old 3gs. I don't doubt they sold 50 million phones in a quarter but none of them are best sellers. :p

Well there are stores that have 4 day return policy there.....Plus there are phone shops that do also send it to their well known customers to try it out..... and keep if you want kind off..... its a different kind of market that is catered.

Any how at the end of the day I used it and was not satisfied with the feel of the phone.... I think its me who has to use it and not anyone else. I am not arguing about anything.

Its just that it does feel very cheap due to the plastic.

As much as I dislike plastic, the Galaxy SIII is growing on me with all of the features it has. And it isn't regular plastic, it is polycarbonate, which is quite different from regular plastic. But I bet you didn't think the iPhone 3G and 3Gs felt cheap, even though they were made of plastic. Because when Apple implements plastic no one complains, but if it is Samsung, well then the phone has a super cheap feeling!
I bet the white MacBook also felt very cheap to you, no?

Actually the 3GS had a very solid feel to it. Probably one of the reasons they didn't make the battery removable. ;)

Apple has a good niche in making their products seem like one whole piece, as suppose to some others that feels like 2 or more pieces snapped together. Your not going to feel or hear any creaking.

I believe HTC took the same route for non removable battery(HTC One) for the same reasons.

Thread after thread, page after page... and just about everyone on this forum still has trouble accepting the fact that cell phone preference, just like almost everything else in this world, boils down to personal preference.

So the guy thinks the plastic feels cheap. Why cry about it and argue that it is ACTUALLY polycarbonate so no possible way could he think it feels like cheap plastic?

Plenty of people don't like the iPhone for plenty of different reasons. The 'cheap glass' is mentioned over and over. Who cares.

It's amazing how defensive people get when it comes to electronics, especially Android vs iPhone.

My initial reaction to the shiny polycarbonate of the SIII was that it was a step down from the One X matte backing of the same material. However, all reviews so far seem to imply that the SIII feels great in your hands. Furthermore, the SIII has a microSD card slot and a removable battery. Plus the camera is flush with the backing unlike the One X which has a noticeable bump for the camera.

I actually think I prefer the look of the SIII, much to my surprise.

That's true, and it was heavier than the Galaxy, making it feel premium. But it's still plastic, which is what I am trying to get at with this guy...

What's it matter to you? If you want cheap and plastic, then just buy a Samsung. If you want something quality made, get an iPhone or a Moto or an HTC. Stop worrying about convincing the whole world of something.

No, its just that the 3GS was heavy. Most here equate heavy to being built solid. The plastic on the 3G and 3GS was crap!

That's the reason I always purchased the MacBook pro series and before the PowerBook series. The 3G & 3Gs had a better feel! Don't fool your self.

So you expect us to believe you just happened to be in Dubai, they broke street release date and risked thousands of dollars in fines to let you, some foreigner with no contract thru their phone company try out the phone? Ok, that makes perfect sense. Pics or it didn't happen kid.

It wasn't that heavy, stop exaggerating. You make it sound as if it had the weight of a brick. When I first held the 3GS, my first reaction was it felt heavier than it looks. That's the only time I noticed it's weight. And that's cause it was my first iPhone ever.

I'm not claiming solid cause of weight, it actually feels like a solid device in your hands regardless of weight. Most other smartphones with the similar shape don't have that one piece feel to it and some even have that hollow feel.

I don't care if the iPhone was made out of rubber bands and play doh, the way Apple designed it's construction gives it a more premium feel more than most others. Just like the OP, I too changed my mind about getting a phone cause of the feel. It was the Samsung Focus. I wanted to give Windows Phone 7 a try for a cheap price, but the Samsung Focus felt like it would fall apart in my hand or pocket sooner or later. With the 3GS and the 4, I never had the feeling of doubt in it's build quality.

Do you realize how rich Dubai is? Businesses probably cater to the average person much more than they do in western countries like America.
