It wasn't that heavy, stop exaggerating. You make it sound as if it had the weight of a brick. When I first held the 3GS, my first reaction was it felt heavier than it looks. That's the only time I noticed it's weight. And that's cause it was my first iPhone ever.

It is a lot heavier than my Galaxy S and that is a fact. And i believe the 4S still weighs more than the Galxy S3 even though it is much smaller.

Weight(up to a certain point) is relative to what someone is used to. It's barely possible to notice the iPhone's weight until you pick up something lighter.

3GS .. 135 grams............. SG2 .... 116 grams.
4S .... 137 grams............. SG3 .... 109 grams.

Noticeable especially cause of size difference. But not a pro or con for either phone, with the exception of personal preference. The iPhone is only heavy in comparison, but it's not heavy and all.

But compared to those, they are heavy and why many iPhone users say it feels cheap. That is my point. And im pretty sure the GS3 weighs more than 109 grams. I think it is in the 130's. Not sure where you got your info from. My Galaxy S weighs more than 109 grams. It is something like 118....maybe 113...not sure but i know it is more than 109.

I've already mentioned in previous posts why I'm not factoring weight when it comes to feel.

I know you did and im saying thats you. Im refering to most everyone else. I think most do. I think they feel the weight and the plastic and think it feels cheap even though it is a solidly built phone.

Maybe that's why the OP didn't give an extensive review. If something feels like crap in your hands, you don't even need 5 min to judge it.

If I test drive a car and the seats are extremely uncomfortable, that's a wrap. I wouldn't care about any greatness that car has to offer.

Dude if I don't like the feel of it why would I use it. If a shirt does not feel good if you wear it would you still wear it and test it out for a few wear if it grows on you. I guess not.

its not insecurities here, its what I have to use on a daily basis and if it does not feel good why would I bother using it.

Can either one of you sound more hypocritical? Let's see, you bought the iPhone because iOS gives you the best user experience. Ummm..right. So now you say it's ok for someone to pick up a phone and mess around with it for a few minutes and declare it's crap. Riiiiiiight. What about the user experience with the OS? You were able to get all that right away in one sitting? Considering your someone that uses iOS, you think you would have enough smarts to know you brain is wired for iOS. This means you have to give another OS at least a few months of a real try before making such a permanent conclusion. Give me a break, you're full of it. Try all you like, yooz aint foolin' noooobody. Absolutely pathetic.

I tried the Samsung SIII for sakes - would never think of moving to a crappy plastic Samsung Phone though it has crossed my mind to always try and use one... its never been possible.

I have an Apple ecosystem at home and at office. - Macbook/ iMac / 6 Apple tv's / iPads etc - the full set up....

I must say this phone looks and feels so cheap as if its a 5 years old's toy from walmart..... rubbish I must say.....

Thank good Apple keeps to the quality materials etc... though I have had screen issue's ( tint etc ) they swap them out straight away.

Can't wait for the new iPhone :D:apple: way to goooooooooo.

This post is hilarious. What a waste of the OPs time to post such a bogus comparison. Even on an Apple forum his post has -44 rating. Whatta tool

What the hell are you talking about???

Reading comprehension is not one of your strong points is it? Sorry I can't make it any simpler than what I already posted. You're done. Next.

NO ..... Reading a baldy constructed wall of ranting is not my strong point.

And the reviews keep coming in strong. Here's a quick round up.

Stuff Magazine said "The most hyped phone since the iPhone 4S has lived up to the hoopla, toppling not only Apple’s ageing starlet but all of its Android rivals."
"The Galaxy S3 offers the slickest Android Ice Cream Sandwich experience we’ve seen thanks to a 1.4Ghz quad-core Exynos processor, which eats 1080p movies for breakfast and can even play them in a pop-up window while you browse the web."
"Extras like the microSD slot and larger battery give it the edge over HTC’s One X, and the 4.8in Super AMOLED screen is sharp and vibrant."
"We can’t wait to see how the iPhone responds."

TechRadar said "if you're picking up an iPhone 4S: forget it"

Trusted Reviews concluded "'In terms of the user experience, the fluidity of operation, the feature set, and in virtually every area that counts, the S3 is light years ahead of Apple's profitable darling"..."So all in all and in my opinion, the Samsung Galaxy S3 stands above the iPhone 4S and laughs at it. It is far thinner, lighter and delivers more for your money."

Hope Apple is paying attention. I'm really excited to see what the next gen iPhone and iOS will bring now that a manufacturer is challenging their hardware, and ICS is challenging their software.

It'll be an exciting October, and some tough decisions to follow.

I am stressing the a build and feel of the phone! Are you daft? I am not stressing on the OS.

Apple fanboy much? Just let it go man. You bring a bad name to the rest of us. The sooner this thread dies, the better.

Also I looked at your post history. Returning more than 6 iPhones in a single day and multiple returns of the iPad? Seriously, did you really find something wrong with each one of those Apple devices? Apple is better off without customers like you, both for taking advantage of their liberal return policy and also for soiling the reputation of Apple fans on online forums like these.

Honestly this Galaxy S3 looks like total crap. Samsung's crap custom skins and software make it even crappier. If Android weren't open source these phones would never sell.

The thing is, the Galaxy S3 is being compared to an 8 month old phone, and in my honest opinion an afterthought of a phone released to keep Apple fans happy, the 4S is literally just an iPhone 4 with a little extra, antenna sorted, newer processor, better camera and Siri. So in actual fact the S3 is being compared with a handset with tech thats almost 2yrs old, its a pointless comparison - whats baffling them is that the iPhone still outsells them.

The Galaxy S3 is the handset that would lure me away from the iPhone but i'm not going to go near it until I see the next iPhone and possibly by that time there will have been more android devices out performing the S3.

And regarding the discussion about the weight of the phones - i'd prefer the heavier one, the weight of my iPhone 4 is perfect.

Sorry but maybe I'm being too much of a fanboy here but is it just me who loathes the review comparisons to the 4S? 'The S3 is light years ahead of the 4S, get an S3!'. I would be worried for Samsung if a phone released 12 months after the 4S wasn't 'better' than the iPhone 4S. Why do these reviews insist of comparing a new generation smartphone with an older generation?

I could easily get my 4S and compare it to an Android phone released a year before it and then claim it's light years ahead. It should be.

Lets leave the comparisons to the iPhone alone until Apple release their iPhone 5, which will technically be the equivalent to the S3. Of course this isn't going to happen due to the hardcore fanboys on both sides.

So now your the voice of Apple? to tell who is better off or not? Are you? Do you even hold enough stock's in the company to make a statement like that?

Well if they have defect I would replace it... as I not going to use a phone with a dead pixel or a tinted screen. I never said that Apple products are flawless by any standards....!!! They are mass produced in China by 3rd party under Apple.

As for returning iPhone's/ iPad's look like you think I am the only one doing that!!!

The screen is made by xyz....etc most issue's have been screen issues.... and they are not made by Apple.

I guess you are still living in a country that has the freedom of speech??? Each to his own.

In other words the SAMSUNG SIII - feel's like crap to me!!! If you like it, its your problem.

I think you need to look deep within your self as you seem to have issue's!!!

Please read:

The Verge

“A lot of good, mixed in with a little bit of bad. The camera is easily the best I’ve used on an Android device, the processor claims the title of benchmarking champion, and the customizations layered on top of Ice Cream Sandwich are mostly unobtrusive and sometimes even helpful.

While neither the display nor the construction materials on the Galaxy S III are the best possible, both represent acceptable compromises that help Samsung balance out the rest of its class-leading spec sheet.

The extra-large size of this phone, even with its great ergonomics, may prove to be a stumbling block for those who can’t comfortably fit a 4.8-inch handset into their daily routine.”

Full Review

GSM Arena

“Love it or hate it, the S III is one of the top phones on the market and will stay so for quite a while.

When we say “hate it”, we’re mostly referring to its size (though it’s not much bigger than the S II) and the plastic the outer body is made of – both have their detractors.

Those two aside, the Galaxy S III leaves users with no other options but be impressed – from the light, slender body, the beautiful screen, the improved camera, powerful chipset to all kinds of advanced software features (some of which are truly useful, while others are just for show).”

Slashgear

Many sites have drawn comparisons from the HTC One X, the Galaxy SIII’s closest rival. While the Samsung-made Exynos quad-core processor clearly outstrips the Nvidia Tegra 3 equivalent in the One X, many feel that the screen, build quality and design of the latter beat Samsung’s latest effort.

AS I WAS ONLY TALKING ABOUT "THE FEEL OF THE PHONE" PLASTIC THAT IS!!!

Apple products are made in China and they have to have authorized resellers. Im tying to find if it is legit or not out and things are cheaper in other countrys than they are here. I dont think Apple is thought as highly there like it is here.

No big deal if it isnt. I have friends who own a Apple repair store where they fix things that people break(screens, buttons, etc) and people sell them things all the time so i can get cheaper iPads, Macbooks and such if i want to from them. They also fix Androids now. Just thought these were new on that site and id be interested at those prices if it is legit.

A knockoff can be very good. It can even be made in the same factory that makes OEM parts (or even be stolen OEM parts). At the end of the day, I suppose it's a moral dilemma. To be honest I have a handful of knockoff products that do me fine. I have come across just as many that are crap. The good ones also don't generally stay cheap for long as word gets out, demand for the good stuff raises, and therefore prices raise to compensate. For what it's worth I am not try to steer you in any direction, just giving you something to think about.

I am actually holding one in my hand right now.

It is the most ergonomic mobilephone I've ever come across, which is a novelty.
The most beautiful? No.

But its still good looking enough to sell tons with the bells and whistles inside the shell. I want one, thats for sure.
