seems a lot more probable to be a next gen iPod Touch case instead...

but enough of these case shots, when can we get some clear iPhone 5 shots from Mr. Blurrycam?

Exactly, a LOT more probable that this may be the next iPod touch design... After all, didn't Steve's keynote refer to the iphone 4 as having a "classic design", like an old beautiful Leica camera? If so why change it so quikly (antenna probs can be fixed)? Seems unlikely.

lol... To thin and wedgy.

Well, when it slips out of your hands at 100 miles an hour and smashes on the floor, at least you'll have something to hold a door open with. Oh no. Thats right, It'll be too thin.

I know iPhones are quite strong, but there is only so much 'thinning' you can do before things start to snap.

I'll get what ever is available from Apple when I upgrade at the end of the year, but insurance is going to be high on my priorities this time round, after three screen replacements from my own pocket.

Stronger glass PLEASE :apple:!.

The iPhone 4 had bad press.

bring it on, im sick of seeing every 2nd person with an iphone 4 and after this long delay it better not look the same

The more I think about it the more I think this could be a new iPod Touch. The iPod is loosing sales fact, Apple saturated the market and now everyone is buying and using smartphones instead. So they need to come up with something fresh to stimulate the market if they want to keep the iPod.
So why not an iPod Touch redesign. Is it really that hard to imagine? Or is everyone just praying and hoping this is the new iPhone?

Not honestly surprising. The iPhone 4 is Apple's worst "phone" yet, what with antenna issues, proximity sensor issues etc. I can only think this current design has fallen out of favor with Steve. Bring on the redesign, I say.

+1

Worst phone ever by the tune of 20 million units a quarter and the #1 selling phone on the planet. I'm sure Steve hates it.

I'm sure he was not happy about the issues at launch. It tarnished a great product.

Hummmm.... contradicting yourself????

I thought everyone was running to the Samsung Galaxy phone in the Germany? Yet, every other person has an "tiny and old" iPhone4. Hummmm...

Oooo you got him...

i said i spoke from personal experience as of late, not that its always been just recently everyone "I" know jumped. there r still those like myself that r still waiting for the 5th and all those other people with their iPhone. i'm unfortunately not the center of germany :p

really? janitors and fire fighters? both are generally set-hours and you seriously think a fire-fighter uses a mobile phone to be alerted about fires to attack or the other things they do?

on-call work is like F&B attendants/kitchen hands who work crap hours (albeit good pay). Factory workers, construction workers or self-employed low qualified electricians etc who work out of their car doing dodgy work for low-income households.

edit: the only industry in the world which has an upperhand on the mobile phone world, of taking something consumers didn't need and turning into a false necessity is the bottled water market. even the cosmetics and beauty markets are below the mobile phones and water markets. although they deserve it, because they gain by hurting people

Holy ***t. And I thought I was an old geezer technophobe!

How about people in healthcare, who need to be available for emergency situations?

I bought a cellphone many (many!) years ago as a safety device. To be used in the event of injury, auto breakdown or accident, sudden illness outside the home, and the like. Better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it. (Sorry about the bumper sticker phrase.)

You don't have to be using the phone for what you might call frivolous purposes - but rather as a (possibly) infrequently used safety device.

For all I know, it's a cover for the next Gen iPod Touch, or here's a new idea... maybe it's for a cheap knock off of an iPod Touch or iPhone from China. ;)

Those case manufacturers are dumb. What's the point of releasing a case if the product is not even released yet? or the chinese consumers are much dumber to buy a case so soon?

Agreed. I have a desire hd but not because i need it and the plan is pay as you go plus i pay $10 a month for unlimited data. People in the US without a dime to their name are rockin iphones with $80 a month contracts and when the US plunges into a depression in the near future due to your crap government it will be the lat thing the repo man will be able to pry away lol.

Dont like your comment...That is a problem with the world, America bails everyone else out of situations and then when its over and America has taken care of your business. Then you thank us and move on feeling like you don't owe a thing. We need to just close our borders, send our troops home, sit tight and fix our economy and see what the world does without the World Police (America) in your countries...My guess you all couldn't handle it and it'd be chaos! Take care of your own business. America is the greatest country in the world!

About a 100 years ago Henry Ford was asked about the colors of the new Model T car. He responded, 'they come in any color you want, as long as it is black.' You never go wrong with black, my preferred color, unless it is simple not an option.

lol. yeah man... people the 90s/80s and before were all lonely losers who didn't have any friends.

business? what business do you do which requires a mobile phone? unless you have a low-grade job which requires on-call immediate start working conditions to keep a paycheck, you don't.

As a marketer for UMG, and on contract for Polydor, and AVEX. NO executive will text message you anything, and anywhere you go, one of the first things which are said is "put your phone on silent or get out".

It seems to me, all these "social things" for "friends" don't actually go anywhere and sit on FB and text message each other what they ate for lunch

edit: but dont misunderstand me. people like me love mobile phones and FB. we are taught and encouraged to embrace those markets, as it is super-cheap marketing with high-yield rates to suck money out of the fools with our dirty tricks :p

I run a small business, and use my iPhone for business matters daily. Your post has no merit. Plus I have disconnected my landline at home, it just makes no sense with a cellphone to have both.

dont really like the tapered style for such a small device. iphone4 looks nice

then again. doesnt effect me. i think mobile phones are junk, and the majority of people dont actually need one. but they have developed some sort of disease where they think they cant function without one.

i wish my marketing skills were as top as the guy/gal who kicked started this obsessive market.

edit: even worse is the shiny/reflective finish which will likely cross-over from the ipodTouch :|

You've all been trolled. This guy doesn't believe anything he says.

Well, some of it is true: Clearly he does work in marketing, although, by his own admission, he's not very good at his job. Perhaps that's the reason no executives text him. For us in the real world, actually contributing something to society, people need to get in touch with us. And I fully believe that he does get told "put your phone on silent or get out" when he enters a meeting. That's how people talk to subordinates. When you don't bring anything to the table, people can walk all over you. If I was ever talked to like that, I'd choose the "get out" option. But that's just me. I have self-respect and fill an actual role in society.

Bill Hicks was 100% right when he talked about marketing:
"Aaah, no really, there's no rationalisation for what you do and you are Satan's little helpers... You are the ruiner of all things good... "

Hugs and kisses, d-bag.

You, sir, are the dumb one. Why doesn't Apple produce all phones on release day? Because products don't magically fall down from the sky just like that. First, they need quantities (which takes time), second they need to ship out to resellers and others who are interested (which takes more time).

Geez. American, right? Have fun being overtaken by the "dumb chinese". Cant say ill miss you!

Tapered design? Please say it isn't so. Holding the phone in landscape will feel lopsided. There are soooooo Manu bootleg apple products mare in china who knows what's real.....except Steve.

I hate the thought of a tapered design too as I don't think it will feel natural in the hand and will be top heavy which could result in a lot of dropped phones and as you say landscape will be a nightmare :-(

So you think all of America's overseas interventions are for the benefit of everyone else?

We would do just fine without your country, anyway how can someone defend a country when paying taxes that goes to war for killing your own young citizens for no valid reasons? Anyway, our swiss banks thank you :)

I hope the pixel density stays the same on the iPhone 5. As it stands right now, the iPhone 4 still has the best mobile display around.
