I hope they laugh you out of court.

Their website specifically states, they are not liable for any damage to your phone. Pretty much all case manufactures has this stipulation.

No they will settle, already in contact with their legal office.

I also think that mostly refers to if your phone breaks while in their case. They obviously will help you out if the case destroys your phone just from being in the casing.

I have a case on my phone and I take it out every night to clean the dirt and debris from my daily use and put it back in, it's more like a ritual.

Did you try cleaning it really hard? Using acetone or something similar... (I don't think that could damage the aluminum, could it?)

I also used Otterbox Defender since day 1 and immediately checked mine if I have the same issues...

None.

The circle and square area on the back of the OP's phone looks a lot bigger compared to the lining on mine though.

you dont need Otter Box aka iTank

I convinced my 3 co-workers to get rid of their OtterBox the 2nd day they got their IP5's when I showed them these on my iPhone 5.

a clear/black bumper I got in eBay for $4.99 free shipping and this carbon fiber backing sticker/protector for $2.99 free shipping. *comes in Silver for white IP5. I also have a clear plastic screen protector I bought for $7.50 for a 20 pack.

There is a huge amount of protection difference between your set up and an otterbox defender.

No I'm worried about damaging it further.

Bro just use some rubbing alcohol, or even windex...you only tried to wipe it with a dry cloth? Cmon now, you don't need to drench it just a little to lift the stain. Just looks like surface stain from moisture and case. Sue the company of you pants for bad ventilated pockets while you're at it :p

Prolly don't want to cause you want a new one and already jumped gun on action. I can see how calling back to cancel legal action because you actually cleaned it would be dumb. How would you damage it further?

I got this one for $3.47 plus free shipping and love it....

Can you post pictures of this installed?

I like this. The bumper will still scratch the coating on the phone. I put cellophane tape on the inside of the bumper to help this.

Holy jesus, I'd be on the phone with Otterbox until I had a brand new iPhone 5 on my doorstep :eek::eek::eek: That's absolutely unbelievable. Another reason why Otterboxes are ****.

What is the purpose of that big hole in the back of the case? If the case is supposed to offer such great protection, why have a 1 inch diameter hole to allow debris to enter? Just doesn't make any sense.

So everyone can see you have the brand new iPhone 5 and you can feel validated in your purchase

yeah I know. I have the same set up on my iP4 and 4s. Dropped both 20 times and over. NO damages. Each time, the bumper gets nicked.. after 5 more drops, I buy another bumper.

At least its not bulky like the OtterBox, it shows the phone as - and it doesn't weigh 5 lbs with the Otter. (or close to 5lbs. LOL)

Is your otterbox case made in china or USA? There are quality differences in the silicone. Maybe if yours is the china case the silicone is softer and contains some more oils. My china silicone case was also greasy to the touch.

Before I even loaded the phone into the case, I left the stock plastic backing on but trimmed the excess tab off to prevent issues such as this. OP should have left the plastic backing on, it's obvious any case will damage the phone

I took my Otterbox commuter case off to check on my phone and no damage to phone. However I just used the clear screen protector on the inside of the rubber back to prevent that type of damage and protect the Apple logo area.

Had to cut away a small piece of the clear screen protector where the camera is though.
