I'll be getting mine by 10:30 am, guaranteed by UPS. After activation I'm planning on a trip (less than 20 minutes) to the Apple store. Not to show off, NAAAAAAH
, just to shop.
I actually am waiting for my iPhone to be delivered UPS tomorrow, but last time my girlfriend dropped me off and picked me up at the Apple Store when I got my iPad
Good plans. Better than sleeping on the street or boring your gf to death.
I only ever waited for the original iPhone and even then I just showed up at about 6 in the morning to wait in line. With online pre-orders available now, it really isn't necessary unless you are really one of the people that need to have the new thing before everyone else and can't even wait a few hours for delivery. I could also understand people that do it as tradition with a group of friends.
Let me make it little better....
Employee: Sir, can I have today and tomorrow morning off so I can go wait in line for a cellphone?

i am hoping that in boston is not crazy tomorrow morning i should be in line by 6am morning i hope is not crazy especially since i live 7 minutes from the apple store in Peabody Ma
I enjoy reading about the people lining up - not so I can make fun of them and somehow that makes my life better than theirs (hint), but because it's interesting and adds to the excitement.

People line up for anything that Apple sells. Who in their right mind would spend days in line to buy a phone?

its not marketing. the tool is in such high demand because its valued by its consumer base. thats a triumph of the tool's properties and usefulness. not marketing.
I did. for last 3 months and traveled almost 3k-4k miles tottaly based on ios 6 Maps.
infact I was amazed when I was on my vacation to Gatlinburg TN on 4th July and my cabin was up in the mountain in woods, for which my Garmin Nuvi 680 refused to guide me, IOS 6 guided me very smartly but saved time by giving me the short cuts.
let me give you the address and let you try on your Garmin or Tom Tom then try on your IOS6.
since then I have travelled to DC, Philli, NYC, New Orleans, TN with no problem and I don't know if you tried this or not but once you put the direction on maps and hit start, you can lock the phone and wallpaper replaces the direction with guided voice coming through BT on my car speakers.
so I am a happy camper.
