I love my 6! First time probably ever that I may use an iPhone without a screen protector, it's just beautiful. I like how the edges are rounded. Granted it's a little awkward to text with 1 hand but I manage

stopped by the AT&T store yesterday to cop my first feel on the new phones, I was going to get the plus, then I swayed back to the 4.7, but after seeing the screen on the plus, and coming from the Lumia 1520 with a 1080p screen, I'm gonna go plus all the way. There's just no going back to a 720p screen, and while it's a good screen also it just cannot beat the screen on the plus, its a gorgeous screen. Both phone are slippery in the hand so no winner there you will need a case. My Lumia 1520 is slightly bigger than the plus but because of the sharp corners it looks a lot bigger. Also coming from the lumia which has terrific battery life it looks like the plus is the best fit. Looking forward to xmas time and picking up a plus

iPhone 6 Plus slow-motion catching football. Sorry, no landscape mode. Will from now on though.

Nice video but as you have mentioned, landscape mode for video...! ;)

It's shocking how many videos I see on YouTube or FB made with smartphones on portrait mode!!

Not really sure which one to get. I love the screen and the better camera on the 6+ but not really sure of it's size. Currently using GS5 so wonder if this 6+ would be much bigger on every day usage? I have seen it in the store but still can't make a right judgement without using it for a day or so.

Does the new iPhone come with a sim card? Are we forced to still go to a AT&T store to activate our phones if there is no sim card included? All the unboxing videos on youtube show no sim on the phone. Can anyone shed some light on this ????

Mine came with the Sim card included. I did have to dial 611 and talk to AT&T to activate it.

Very annoying, I will be looking to change my phone next year at some point, I want a reasonable battery life and it must have the best automatic camera that's easy to use. I was looking at the Xperia Z3 Compact but the video below shows it to over expose heavily, and that's compared to the iPhone 5S!

But then the video below that shows the iPhone 6 Plus has much better video thanks to the OIS, and for me a device the size of the iPhone 6 Plus is a big no no, hmmm maybe the iPhone 6S will get OIS? Very annoying. My search continues...

good job on review, you are a really good writer!

do you use evernote a lot? I've had it on my iPhone but never used, always end up in notes app....i saw you can clip articles online too with evernote, is it same as reading list?

mine worked by entering zip code and last 4 of social - i just realized it only gave me my saved voicemails back a week, anyone know how to sort this or do i have to call ATT? thx!

The Lumia 1520 is really a huge phone. I love big phones but that one is too big and uncomfortable to hold for me. The 6plus should be just fine for you since its way more comfortable to hold and it is super thin.

As far as the resolution honestly i couldnt spot the difference. I had the iphone 6 and compared it twice with the plus, once at the apple store and once at the AT&T store. I looked closely but couldnt see the difference honestly.

Well I got my iPhone 6 64GB in slate gray on Friday. I have been really pleased with performance. This afternoon at work I dropped the iPhone from my pocket, while seated, and it cracked the screen.

This is the first time I have ever cracked any screen on any device I've ever used. I dropped this from about 22" and the screed cracked in the upper right corner.

The device is still working properly but there is a very annoying crack right by the power button now.

I called Apple and they said I can send it in and pay $109 to replace the screen. I didn't like that much but was going along with it. I used the link provided by the tech at Apple to set up the service.
They tried to charge me $$299.97 plus shipping when following the instruction from the link.

I guess I'll have to live with a broken screen for the next year.

any chance that you paid with amex? they have a 90 day accident/theft policy that would give you a new one.....not sure how policy would work if not paid in full but if they can help, they will

since you are still in return window, you might do better if you go into an apple store and see what they can do, in person they may help you a lot more

i love the 6+, i think you would get used to it rather quick as when i look at iPhone 5 now, it looks way too small! i think the biggest issue is how you would carry it, i don't get vibe you have a briefcase but then who knows! the 6+ does feel smaller each day as i get used to it!

thats a great picture quality, what did you use to take??

I upgraded from a 4s to a 6. Due to my stubbornness on upgrading to Mavericks, I was not able to pull all my phone info from iTunes and was forced to do it from my iCloud backup. It took forever, lesson learned. At least, the experience forced me to do the upgrade to Mavericks too. :)

My first impression of the 6 is that the screen is enormous. I'm still having issues adapting to the size, and I have pretty big hands. I put an Otterbox Commuter on it, and that made it even tougher to use single handed. It also made the phone tough to put in and take out of my pockets. The 6 is smoking fast, I'm loving the speed over the 4s. I'd had enough of the 3g data speeds too. It's a great phone and I'm looking forward to getting used to using it single handed.

mavericks is awesome, it magically found more storage on both my air + iMac, i could not believe i waited so long to upgrade - i feel like i have brand new computers now and they are faster - best update i have done that i can ever remember, i've had apple's since the one with a screen size the of the new iPhone 6+, it was a beige color with black + white screen!!:apple:

Was comparing my 6 to some of the current Android phones of a similar size and there is a definite argument too say they could have got a 5" screen into the frame.

so everyone using a Plus with Facebook has the same black screen issues, right? The app pops up, black screens for 2-5 seconds, then opens. It's like it can't figure out what to do about zoom so it barfs and then reopens.

Returning my 6 plus. I feel like its big for no reason. Ill wait to compare with the note 4 to make a final decision.

I have had the 6 plus since 9/20. My first impressions of it was that it was gigantic and that I really didn't like how huge it was coming from a iPhone 5. After using now for about 3 days I still think it's huge but I am getting used to it a little more. I was tempted to exchange it for the 6 but figured I would give it a chance for about a week and so far I'm still on the fence with it as of now. Love the big screen but kind of uncomfortable to use and hold especially in 1 hand. For the record I am 6'1 and my hand span from my thumb to pinky finger is about 8 or 9 in. Not sure about how I feel for using it for my daily driver. I have asked many people that have phones around this size, the note mostly and they all said my plus was really nice and that they are sure I will love it after some time of getting used to and that they felt the same way after they picked up the note but now they love their notes. I must say though that the screen is indeed amazing and so is the camera. At its price point though of around 800-1000 it's definitely going to be a huge target for theft, especially right now since they are sort of hard to get as we speak so just another thing to consider. Overall as I said still not sure what I want to do.

Dude the note is a completely different kind of device. We have them all at the house. I Just picked up a 64gb iPhone 6 and returned my 64gb 6 plus. The 6 feels right. From software to feel. The 6 plus feels like a beta device of sorts. The note is big but it feels right.

I know its tough lol

OK, a Second impression . . .

My First impression was that the 6 Plus was way to big. After a few days I went back, and it did not seem to bad. It would change how I use my phone, but offers a lot in return. I like my 5S. The 6 is beautiful, but I am not sure I like it THAT much better than my 5S.

I would miss being able to "one-hand" so much, but you gain a lot too. Guess I need another trip or two.

PS: The 6 Plus fits fine in my front pocket!

first impressions: this ***** is big.
second impression/thoughts (over the weekend):
  • this ***** is still big
  • iPhone 6 is a nice size, this + thing is still huge
  • screen is amazing, but that battery life is even more impressive! loving it compared to the measly 5.
  • industrial design isn't that appealing. i miss the iPhone 5 design (the diamond cut chamfered edge gives me a hard-on).
  • processing speed is comparable to iPhone 5S/iPad Air. do i really need an iPad now?
  • this thing fits in my jeans. barely. with the headphone jack sticking out. something is bound to break.
  • camera is awesome. AF accuracy and speed is stunning. and slo-mo is so fun. now to only convince the fiancee to record her bouncing boobs in slo-mo.
  • should i return this for an iPhone 6? still think this might be too big.
(after the weekend):
  • went back and held my old iPhone 5. CHRIST this 4" is small. how did i ever use this thing for two years?
  • went back and held an iPhone 4S. LOL. this must be a joke.
  • yeah i'm keeping the 6+. that screen/battery/camera is too good to pass up.
  • some apps look like crap on the 6+. hurry up developers!!!!!

I use the app called Paper, for Facebook. It works just fine. And the messenger is built right into it. i'm using it on the iPhone 6+. Also, using Facebook in Safari optimizes it as though it is an app.

This little 6" cable works wonders for pockets!
