IMHO, I think this is the best phone Apple has ever made. It is a quality product for sure. It looks, feels, and performs extremely well. I'm very happy with the iP6. Here are a couple pics:

It's a good thing you reminded me of this. I will disable 2-step before I activate my new phone.
Or best practice is to write down your security key and keep it safe. Then use it to activate in 2 step. I store a copy in my LassPass secure notes.

I do not like curved edges. It doesn't feel firm in your hands. I think the design of the new iPhone is poor.

I've used Android phones before.

The iPhone 6 therefore is not as wow to me.

I feel that the HTC One and Moto X do more aggressive curving to fit the phone in your hand better than the iPhone 6. People were commenting that the 6 feels amazing in your hand. When I got it I felt that it was no better than the two phones I mentioned.

The curved glass did not strike me as new since the HTC One X was the first to use this, and it was executed very well back then.

The overall size of the 4.7? is much larger than it needs to be. At least for HTC One M8 they could cram in boomsound speakers.

A case, any case, is necessary but will result in a bulkier phone, thereby minimizing the curves of the 6.

The build quality of the 6 is so incredibly tight that it may all be one piece.

Like putting a cashmere sweater on!!

Coming back to the iphone 6 64GB Space Gray from an LG G2. I previously had a 5 and 5S. It's so nice to come back to Apple. The G2 is a fantastic phone with a lot of great features, but this new Iphone is just so much better. It was so easy to set up. I just restored from a previous 5S backup on my MacBook Pro. Took about 10 minutes. I am using the Apple leather case. It is a little slick without a case on it. Speaker is nice and clear and loud. Don't hesitate.

Well...

UPS delivered my Pre-Order iPhone 6 128GB AT&T approx. 10:15 west coast. Even though they did not have to deliver early per agreement with Apple was "end of day," my local UPS honored the Next Day Service to deliver AM delivery, sweet. Plus they brought my ground packages at the same time, so I got those early.

The iPhone 6 is pretty special, though mine is restoring from backup right now of my 5S.

I have inspected my phone. Often these early phones I would receive with scratches initially. This one, knock on wood from what I can tell, looks near perfect. I have examined the screen only briefly, I didn't see anything yet (again knocking on wood for luck).

The volume buttons feel decent, though not as strong as previous phones, the silent switch is the worst, it feels rather cheap.

Overall, the design is fine. The two 4 generations and 5 generations had terrific designs, but this phone is thin, and thats great.

BIGGEST impression??? The screen!! WOW! I only have the iPhone 6, and the screen size is blowing me away. It is a dramatic improvement over the 4-inch screen of the 5S. To me, it seems like this MIGHT be the sweet spot.

Of course, I have yet to hold a Plus. So far, the screen leaves my mouth dropping open. Maybe Apple could have went with the 4.7 inch screen and held the 5.5 for next year, to make next year just as big of a jump.

I simply love the 4.7. Maybe if I'm not tempted by the Plus now, I will get the Plus next year, so it feels really new to me again.

Honestly, this phone feels so dramatically different because of the screen jump. This almost feels as new as the original iPhone.

The volume buttons and power button on my i6 are rock hard and sturdy and stiff , opposite of you I guess

Sticking with the plus. Been back and forth worrying it's too big but after playing with it for a few hours I'm not sure I could go back to a smaller screen. Takes some adjusting to but love it. But then I'm a farmer with farmer hands so maybe not too much of an issue for me.

I ended up created a new key. However I also figured out that my iPad could also be used to authenticate... So that's what I did.

iPhone 6 space grey 16 GB.

Feels very smooth, sleek and light in hand. Loving the rounded aluminium feel.

Feels snappier™ than my iPhone 5 and the display is gorgeous, sharp and really pops.

The sleep button feels very secure and clicky. Like the volume buttons of the iPhone 5, but has more give.

The screen size feels big coming from an iPhone 5, but I am getting used to it very quickly and allows for more content. Definitely think the iPhone 6 Plus is too large for my lifestyle.

Edit: I just re-read this

iPhone 6 Plus Gold 128GB

It feels substantial, the heft, makes you think there might be some gold in it. :D

Texture wise. It's smooth and I am very afraid of dropping it.

I ordered a case, but it didn't show. I checked my order. Instead of shipping on Tuesday, as was indicated, it actually shipped today. So there goes my expedited shipping payment.

Even after activation, several issues came up. My microcell doesn't see it, even though it has the correct phone number. iMessages had trouble with my linked accounts. It kept asking for my passwords but couldn't find Apples severs.

I ended up shutting it down an restarting. It seems to be okay now. But it shouldn't be like that. Also it didn't sync my photos. For some reason everything else syncs fine, just photos was turned off. I fixed that too.

iPhotos, although still there, was only interested in having me use Photos. I deleted iPhotos.

Numbers, Pages and Keynote, all though updated, does not see my docs in iCloud. I wonder if they are not ready for the new iCloud yet.

The phone is growing on my family, like I had thought. There initial impressions was that it's too big, but now they aren't thinking like that so much.

I can tell you one thing, it's difficult to do one handed stuff, though it is possible. I feel with a case, it will be much easier, because there will be something to grip onto, vs the slippery smooth surface I am fighting with now.

It fits in my pocket, awesomely. I thought it would be a problem, but it's not at all. So my worries are gone.

I was expecting to prefer the 6 over the 6 Plus. Yesterday I spent a good half hour at the Apple Store using both. Turns out I prefer the 6 Plus. I have fairly big hands and found that I can reach most of the screen while holding it with one hand. The screen is stunning and I love having that much display space. It's going to be an amazing device once apps have been updated to take advantage of the big screen.

Here's a pic of me holding a 6 Plus.

Overall I love my 6 64Gb SG; however:

- Realistically I cannot use it one handed, I'm confident I will drop it at some point if I try. Means a lot of hand shifting to do it. In my natural position I struggle to even swipe back. It's at the point where I'm wondering if the 6+ would have been better as I don't use it one handed anyway.

- Headphone port lining is very sharp, and it's where my little finger wants to naturally rest. It's marked my skin from the constant abrasion.

- Touch ID itself is great, but it's still pretty much useless, I still have to enter my password for apps etc, and I always thought there was a cool off time you could set before it asked again, but using it every time is becoming infuriating and completely ruining the fluid operation of iOS. Before this I had no passcode.

Don't get me wrong I don't dislike the phone at all, just some negative points for me.

I bought 2 iPhone 6's.

One space gray and the other gold. I really thought I would like the gold... but I don't. it just doesn't look great with those white bands. It's going back.

The wife got the space gray and it looks a lot better. But still not as aesthetically pleasing as the 5s. She's going to keep it.

In terms of function, I really didn't see much reason to keep the 6. It's bigger but some sites are really rendered poorly on it. Also I need one handed functionality in my job. So I'm keeping the 5s. Guess I'll be ponying up for a new battery soon ;)

I can still use the 6 one handed in fact for my hand size it's just about right. Made me realise that the 5S was actually a touch too small especially the tiny text.

So got my iPhone 6 plus 64 GB yesterday via Apples flawless (well at least for me), preorder and delivery option.
Was at work and then out last night so didn't get it set up until this morning.
So it did look huge, coming from an iPhone 5. However, I'm loving the user experience. The screen size is brilliant. The apps that have been updated are so nice to use. I actually prefer to use this for web browsing than my iPad 2 as its a lot lighter.
Resolution is great for my eyes. Going to give the camera an outing tomorrow (along with my DSLR of course).
Popping out in a bit so I can give it a test in the wild.

The new lock button placement gets me too....i keep hitting the volume buttons when trying to hit the lock button - but yes I will adjust. I love my new 6 Plus - beautiful screen

Here's the pic I posted on the 'What are you upgrading from?' thread, where I think I might win the award for biggest iPhone upgrade, going from a 3G to a 6. :)

Like lots of people, I don't like the antenna lines or the protruding camera. However… first impression of the phone (looking at the front) was a definite 'wow' from me. It's hard to ignore the appeal of a shiny new iPhone, and the rounded glass edges really do look great. I'm very happy with the size of the 6. And yes, it does feel 50 times faster than my old 3G!

My only real complaint so far is the position of the lock button. I can see why Apple put it there with the larger phones, but I find it's now awkward to adjust the volume, because my thumb often happens to be right over the lock button, and as Newton taught us all, for every button press there is an equal and opposite button press on the other side of the phone. I suspect over time I'll adjust the way I do this without even thinking (I'm already finding it a bit easier), but yeah… not ideal placement IMO.

iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus Photos and First Impressions

Got the 64gb iPhone 6 in space grey. Was torn between silver and space grey when I preordered. Wow. Don't regret my decision now.

Beautiful phone! Finish is impeccable.

My only problem is that I may want a 6 plus now.

I'll go try one out at the Apple Store next week and go from there. Other than that I'm extremely happy!

I'm already seeing a considerable improvement in battery life on the 6+ compared to the 5s. So far after an hour fifteen minutes of constant usage (streaming NFL Network, Netflix, Web Browsing, downloading apps) my battery is at 90%.

iPhone 6 Plus vs Nexus 5

Specially interested in your opinion. I'm a Nexus 5 owner too, and I don't think I'd appreciate going 0.3" down to a 6, so I'm considering the 6+. 5.5" however... I don't know... What are your thoughts?

I love the Nexus 5 size. Its thin bezels make it the size of the 6 with a bigger screen, so not a big deal reaching for the screen. Yes, I do have to stretch my thumb in order to get to the top left corner, but that never bothered me in this last year.

So again, what are your thoughts? Thanks!!

Having owned both now, I will say that I would have had trouble giving up screen size. The reachability feature truly keeps the Plus as a one handed device. I've used the feature several times today already. Plus the battery life on the Plus is sick.

I think I'll jump in on this. I think the iPhone 6 feels analogous to the Nexus 5. I haven't held them side by side, but honestly the 4.7" is not noticeably different, IMHO. The 6 feels like a higher quality build Nexus 5 in the iOS operating environment.

If you're on the android/iPhone fence, I would seriously wait around for the 2014 Nexus 5 (that appears to be the rumor now) and see if you like it. Either that or wait it out for the 6S.

Also, as goofy as a lot of us thought it was, the double tapping the home button to drop the screen down works and is quite convenient to reach the far corner of the screen.
