I feel like Apple was trying to test the market with the 6 and see what the iPhone users truly preferred. Seeing that people are preferring the bigger phone, I wouldn't be surprised to see the next gen iPhone only in one size that is on the bigger side, but maybe a little smaller than 5.5" 6+.

FYI - I have no problem with people changing their minds. I did it with the original iPad. I do however think people should also have enough integrity to admit when they were wrong (if and when they are.) In fact, I have great respect for those that have posted that they were wrong about larger phones and that they really like the new iPhone and the larger size.

Once you state an opinion, you don't have to maintain it forever - or even in the same thread. But at least own it.

Many people don't like to admit they are wrong and to an extent with the screen size issue, the market and further development of technology is the reason these opinions changed. The development of the iPhone and phones in general into a huge gaming platform has changed people's mind, as well as other app development making people realize that a bigger screen can be helpful. Essentially the phone becomes more like a laptop every year, so the desire for a bigger screen today makes sense to many that 3 years ago thought the size was excessive and unneeded. To that extent it isn't even that they were wrong then, it's that today they use their phone differently than even a few years ago. If you've been around long enough, you will remember a similar thing on a smaller scale in the late 90's/early 2000's when people started complaining that phones were getting too small.

I could see this being true. I can order a 6 right now and get it tomorrow. The Plus is still on backorder to November.

It happened to my friend. He had a 6+ that he left in his front pocket all day. It's under Apple Care though and they replaced it on the spot but is considering selling it on for a normal 6.

It bent just by taking it in the front pocket. Very credible explanation. Especially a good explanation to give to the Apple store to have it replaced for free, because if he said that he sat on it, they could have said something different....

Lots of folks want one mobile device and the plus meets that demand for that base.

The price of the 6 phones (both sizes) is tough, but Apple has always charged a premium for portability. All that said, I am glad Apple are finally offering folks a choice in phone sizes.

I would be glad as well if they kept 4inch option or introduced 4.3. one hand usability is still factor for many of us;(

Steve must be rolling in his grave....for being wrong.

This never would have been released if he were still alive.

I'm glad the Plus is an option for those millions of people. But please don't overreact and only release larger phones next time. IMHO the 6 at 4.7" is great. It's my favorite iPhone so far of all the models. It's damn near perfect.

I tried the Plus and it is not for me. And that's ok. But don't just make one model.

I hear the same thing about iPads. That's great that people love their Airs. That's fantastic. But I love my Mini. Portability always wins out for me with both products.

Choice is good. And I thought Apple was a company that told us what we needed not reacted to the market.

What's funny is the g3 and the 6+ are both 5.5 but the plus does feel bigger. Granted, I didn't have much hands on time with the + but I think it is wider or taller or something.

I could see it being a pain for people with small hands.

It did debunk the myth that the iPhone 6 Plus is weak. Sorry. They didn't test the weak spot? They didn't search for the weak spot on ANY of the phones tested. They all had the same exact test done on them. Why would they use the same test for all phones except the iPhone? How stupid would that be?!

Look at the photo I posted: they actually tested in the weak spot, but haters are in denial in these days :D

6 Plus is the superior model,so I'm not surprised.
It would be surprising if the difference between 6 and 6 Plus was only the size, but 6 Plus has significantly longer battery life and better camera tech.

If the next iPhone is one millimeter over the current 6, I'm gone.

I upgrade every year, this year I went for the 6 Plus after trying both the 6 and 6 Plus out. After 2 weeks of use I still love it and couldn't see myself going to the smaller version.

I myself thought 5.5 was way to big, but I couldn't resist trying it.

I preordered the 6+ and figured if I don't like it I'll bring it back for the 4.7. I received it on release day and I can't believe how nice it is! I really didn't think I would like it as much as I do!

It has not bent, I carry in my RT front pocket without incident. Yesterday was the day it was put to test in my front pocket, I was bending down to squat and it felt like I put a dull knife into my upper thigh/hip! I happy to say it DID NOT BEND! I

I just think it's SO weird that people flocked to the Plus because they saw it as the "premium" version of the new iPhone. But it's just bigger and bigger isn't better for everyone. Like shoes.

I will never in a million years understand why people get so upset over what devices other people decide to buy. Just do what works for you, and mind your own business.

I do believe that a major component of 6+ buyers are people like me, over 40, who love having a screen they don't need reading glasses to see. ;)

This is horrible logic. Aside from the fact the bottle won't easily stay in your pocket, odds are if you sat on an unopened bottle it won't break, and you can feel it have some give.

I bought a wallet and put it in my back pocket where its supposed to go. After a few days it was bent!! I brought it back to the store but they refused to give me a new one. Obviously a manufacturing defect. This is outrageous, I'm gonna have to post it on reddit and all the media outlets!

Obviously it would never, ever, absolutely never happen that someone puts a phone into their back pocket, sits on it and bends it, and then puts it into their front pocket and swears that it was bent just by itself in their front pocket.

This, in 99% of the cases

You do know you can go back by swiping from the left edge of the screen, right? I do it all the time on my 5s and it's way easier than reaching for the upper left corner.

Thanks! I didn't know that before.

There are other applications where this doesn't work. Maybe most applications will be updated so I can have my one-handed usage back. :)

If you believe only 9 customers complained then you're naive. If I had a bent iPhone I'm returning that sucker for another reason. Just the 16GB model alone is $750 and I wouldn't want to be stuck with a bent phone. I made the mistake of telling Apple that I replaced their faulty battery in my wife's iPhone 5. They refused to touch my phone due to unauthorized repairs. So yes; I would not say one word about a bent iPhone when making my return.

It's not going to bend in your pocket. They already proved that with the three point test demonstrations. The phone will always be supported from underneath in your pocket, and the force pushing down will always be distributed across a much larger area of the frame. There's no way you can generate 90 lbs of isolated/unsupported force in a pocket under normal circumstances.

Changing your mind is not allowed. All apple users should have the same opinion!

I'm sorry. I didn't realize.

When I was at the ATT store a week ago picking up the 6 for my wife, I personally watched two Android users make the switch to iPhone. I would bet that a fair number of 6+ sales are going to now former Android users.

I have the 6+ and love the screen size, but it is unwieldy to use one handed. I had to get it for work, as we needed both sizes for product development, but I think I would prefer to use the 6 for everyday use.

Maybe I will get used to it and figure out better or different ways to work with it. It's already changed my iPad Air usage for work, as I don't need to pull out the iPad to show clients pictures, as the 6+ has gotten the job done.
