Probably not unless it's official. Meaning it's a risk and better to expect it not to work that way (even one might hope that it does/might).

I think I actually got sort of official confirmation for my iPhone

If I enter my AT&T iPhone's MEID on this page, Verizon recognizes the device: http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/nso/enterDeviceId.do?&zipRdr=y

Note: My iPhone 6 is a genius bar replacement and also has been unlocked by AT&T as of this morning. My dad's iPhone 6+ IMEI/MEID is not recognized on that page (but for whatever it's worth, his phone isn't unlocked)

this time apple did not disable the cdma radio in the iPhone 6. so even though you have a t-mobile iPhone 6 / 6 + you can still use it on verizon. a pre-activated verizon sim card will enable CDMA, VoLTE, and Visual Voice Mail in an iPhone 6.

the only difference between a Verizon iPhone 6 and a T-Mobile iPhone 6 is that the IMEI / MEID is "liked" by Verizon.

here is my thread on apple discussions

here are some other posts i made on mac rumors

if you are shopping for a verizon iPhone, and you already have verizon service, in a pinch , you can buy the t-mobile version and it will work

the only thing you can't do with that t-mobile phone is to activate a new line of service or use my verizon.com to transfer your line to the new IMEI/MEID
but as far as compatibility and function, everything works perfectly. as long as you put your verizon sim card in the t-mobile phone and do not talk to verizon, the phone will work.

please credit me and spread the word

please get back to me if this is also true of sprint sim cards.. that i did not try
and i am afraid to

For those with Verizion phones on AT&T, what kind of LTE speeds are you getting?

I am getting VERY slow speeds. DLs at like .5Mb/s. I previous had an iPhone 6 Plus (an actual AT&T phone) and was getting super fast LTE.

Just to update this, this may be due to AT&T throttling me. I dont want to scare anyone.

I've tried. Verizon sim card in unlocked GSM iPhone 5s, does NOT work!

Wow I just know this. So you guys are saying if I bought a verizon iPhone, I could use it on the GSM carriers. However, if I bought a Tmo / ATT iphone, I can't use it on CDMA carrier like verizon. Am I correct?

So if i couldnt fint t-mobile 6+ i just get verizon at a full price and it would work on all gsm networks in the world ?? :O:O:O:O?

Just bought a Verizon iPhone 6 today, put in my AT&T SIM before I even turned the phone on, and everything works just fine.

I plugged it into iTunes, and got a carrier update message as well.

It doesn't matter with Verizon. Even on contract they're still gsm unlocked. Please don't listen to best buy.

Once again. The Verizon 5s5c/6/6 plus are all unlocked from the get go.

So its pretty much confirmed that T-Mobile voice and AT&T voice and LTE works on the Verizon iPhone 6 Plus. But what about T-Mobile/AT&T Edge, HSPA+, and 3G data? Has anybody tested this yet?

GSM and CDMA models are the same model numbers, so they will support the same things.

Again the Verizon 6 is gsm unlocked

Hi! I am new in this forum.
I am from Indonesia and I plan to go to US next week for 1 week only and I want to buy unlocked iPhone 6 Plus 128 GB space gray. If I want to use it back in Indonesia using Indonesian SIM card, should I buy the contract-free Tmobile, verizon, or at&t? I also want to know the availability of the unlocked phones in apple store in US. Is it available in store or I have to wait for some days? Thanks.

so just pay full price .. put my sim from my 5s in the 6 before i power on and I should be good ?

Yes

You'll prolly wanna check online which bands there are in Indonesia and compare to the us versions. You'll want either the tmobile contract free or the Verizon or the full price att if u buy from an apple store. They'll all be unlocked for gsm.

Depending on which apple store u go to will determine stock.

The introduction of LTE was the start of having SIM cards in Verizon iPhone. Few examples:

1. Sold an iPhone 5 to a friend overseas in Asia. I know for fact he uses SIM card to operate on a GSM network, as they have very few CDMA carriers.

2. I personally have a T-mobile SIM card that I use to test T-mobile coverages from time to time. I have a Verizon iPhone 5 (I know because I'm still under contract). No problem at all.

3. One of my best friend who is an India, we are in the same family plan. He has an Verizon iPhone 5, and when he goes to India for a visit he would simply swap out his SIM card and use the GSM network over there.

Incorrect. The iPhone 4S had a SIM card with Verizon, for roaming internationally.

i know this thread is about Verizon iPhone 6 being unlocked.
But is the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6+ from AT&T unlocked?
I ordered a iPhone 6 (ATT) from the apple store.
Can you put a tmobile sim card into a iphone 6?
Can someone please confirm?

Only if you bought it contract free or managed to convince att to unlock it
