It's OK if you don't understand. A lot of people just want to spend money on things they want. It's their money. There is nothing wrong with that.

It's the same price as last year's 6/6+. It's not an extra $100-$200.

True, true. I'm not bashing people for spending their own money on what they want. I'm pointing out Apple's laziness to deliver the same kind of quality products they used to.

I was saying the new phones are $100-$200 more than the current 6 models, though, since the prices of the former generation products always goes down after a new phone is launched.

And people were claiming "Apple won't be able to sell many iPhones since subsidies are gone and people see the real price of them".

Looks like it doesn't matter. Financing programs just help Apple even more than subsidies did. Now they'll get more people upgrading every year.

The latest Samsung phones have 4K video, 2K screens, 15nm chips, fast charging, wireless charging, and other upgrades The latest phones have been upgraded from plastic to glass, and you have the option of choosing a curved screen or the traditional screen, which are more useful features than 3D touch. I'm not a fan of Samsung phones, but it's hard to ignore the obvious.

the s6 is also a step backwards with no removable battery, no micro sd card and multi tasking that doesnt work. congrats!

If you hold Apple stock, you should be pleased with this new development. Apple sales will continue to increase without dropping prices or lowering their margins.

These stories are like incoming mortar rounds to the stock price  :apple:

I hope you're not surprised by this. I'm not exactly a financial expert but even I understand that stock price isn't based on how Apple did last week. It's how they'll be doing next week. Sales peak out with a new product and then taper off. The stock price should go down unless you're suggesting Apple will maintain this rate of sales for the next few months.

I think he/she has a more fundamental issue going on. If HE/SHE doesn't find a feature useful, neither should anyone else apparently.
It's a phone not a tablet - the screen even on the Plus is not suited to that function due to its small size.

So what if it is a phone and not a tablet. A lot of people find it useful. If you happen to not like it, don't use it. But I doubt you even have a 6S/6S+

The latest SONY phones have a 4K screen, two days of battery life, a metal/chrome design, waterproofing, and more.

Yeah, and you get Android on top of all that great hardware hobbling everything and turning it into a lousy experience.

No thanks.

Last year Apple sold over 74M phones in the holiday quarter so yes, that's what people are expecting.

My reasoning is that people are becoming so damn lazy on a phone they now want shortcuts so they don't have to open an App. It's ludicrous.

Blame the technology I don't know about you, but for me anything that make my life easier is good. I can do other things on any extra time saved.

Apple hardly put a dent in anything exciting with their phones this year.

Because specs on paper are the only thing that actually matters, right? Why hasn't Samsung fixed the obvious multitasking issues on their phones? They can't hold more than a few apps open without having to reload them when other android oems with less ram can hold more open. 4K screens are a huge waste of battery and time. Why would you want a screen that uses more battery that looks no different from a 1080p screen? You can only the slightest difference when they're side by side. Take it home and you won't notice. My 750p screen looks great to my eyes. Apple is also years ahead of its competitors with its SOC. Nobody has come even remotely close to the performance of the A9, and I can only imagine the A9x.

"Told you the S model's are not worth upgrading to, no one wants one, its not a good enough reason to buy"...

...oh wait.

Always keep in mind that this is posted by people who have an iPhone 6. You'd have to be quite extreme to upgrade from 6 to 6S. I'd think the upgrades are 2% from iPhone 6, 60% from iPhone 5/5c/5s, the rest from iPhone 4/4s and older.

I haven't read the thread and it looks like it's devolved into a snipe-fest, :) but I reserved a 6s+ Gold 128 GB Sat. afternoon and picked it up then this morning (Monday 9/28) I reserved a 6S+ Rose Gold 128 GB and will pick it up at noon. Well done, Apple!

Those numbers are mind blowing.

Wonder if/when they will ever reach a market saturation point like the old iPods did...

I think we are just at the beginning of people upgrading their phones every year, before it was every 24 months.

My carrier will give me a free upgrade next year (for the 7) and with Apples every year service we can expect these numbers to grow and grow for some time.

But your point is valid whats goes up, must come down (eventually)..

Excellent! Now please, hop on over to the HTC or Moto store and purchase one of their phones. Stat! I know for a fact there's one over there waiting for you with your name on it.
Apple defender.

I feel the same way, would still be using the original iPhone if they would have just put more ram and a faster processor. Maybe a little bit thinner, and still support iOS 9.
They could easily have included 2gb ram last year. come on, you know this.

Specs do matter, but so does the way the software is optimized to take advantage of the hardware. If there's NFC in the iPhone, it should support wireless charging too.

The hardware should also be refined to provide a great user experience while being visually appealing. The ugly caulk lines, the protruding camera, and the massive bezels are none of that. The phone is becoming laughably thin, and the pink color is pretty ugly.

P.S - I own an iPhone 6 plus. I hate the hardware. I use the iPhone because of the software.

It doesn't matter if other phones have better specs. etc. How many are SOLD is what is more important.
