Hi. Does anyone think this counts as chipping? It's really difficult to see in some angles and I'm not quite sure.
One picture shows what I mean. The other picture shows how it's only visible at certain angles

Why does your iphone look like it has a mirrored finish? If that is a case, your case may be wearing your phone's edges.

Oh man that sucks.

My 6S is coming tomorrow. Am I right in thinking his issue is happening to mainly Plus models, and rose gold models?

Happening to mainly rose gold models yes. But I think it's equally possible to happen to both plus and non-plus models as long as it's rose gold. But as some members here have shown, it's equally possible for micro-pitting to appear on space grey models too.

Just got my replacement today and guess what? It has the micro-pitting issue right out of the box. This is ridiculous. And worst part is I left the AASP without spotting it. Now I have to call back Apple Singapore to get another replacement. Luckily they will replace just that it will take another day to process.

Was it an Apple Care replacement or a retail box replacement? I hope your next one is perfect and lasts a long time! So sorry this is happening to so many. I have a 6S Plus manufactured around the last day of December. I hope all will be ok with it, fingers crossed. Mine is Space Grey.

can anyone tell me if I should be worried about a scatch on my iPhones screen and the most tiniest speck of dust underneath the camera lens?

Id say take it back, thats not normal. Is it under warranty?

I already had one replacement because of a bad screen. I'm not sure they'd take this because it's pretty difficult to see if it's not at the right angle, that's why one photo isn't showing anything

Yes it's a case but it's really soft and easy to remove. It might have been a different case I was using but it's difficult to see so I'm not sure if it's always been there

Even those soft cases can cause damage. Especially the clear TPU ones. Happened to my Dad's iphone. Problem is that debris gets in between the case and the phone, and friction through normal use causes wear.

I've wondered about that in the past and thought about not using a case. I never have anything else in the same pocket as my phone, just worried about the back when I put it down somewhere.

Having said that, here's another picture taken at the same time, slightly different angle and nothing can be seen

Took my two week old case (Spigen Ultra Hybrid) off on a gold 6s and no damage, pitting or anything else. You guys must be very unlucky. Of course only a few have reported this out of many.

It's a refurb replacement. Manufactured early Dec 2015

May I know how you went about telling them ? previously when i called apple, they told me that it's under cosmetic issues and they can't do anything about it.

I think it really depends on the advisor that's picking up your case. I told the guy at Apple Singapore exactly what I told other Advisors. But this one approved of the replacement.

Hi alleggerita, how's your phone today? My unit was replaced like yours (same issue) and I had to call Apple Care also because the AASP here in PH didn't approved when i am asking a replacement. My replacement unit is now 2weeks old and it has a spiegen case since day 1. Again, I am seeing a chip on the bottom part of the phone. This is disgusting. I am worried that it might get worse some day.

Which service provider did you reach out? Also, any update with your call from Apple?
At Glorietta 5. They approved my replacement. However, my unit is now two weeks old and i noticed the same issue again. I am seeing a chip on the bottom part (white edge).

Wow. This thread is nerve racking! I am waiting for a replacement phone because of screen issues. This is making me think I might should just try to go get my display unit replaced. That chipping is awful!

My new iphone 6s rose gold arrived ytd and the apple logo was scratch
[doublepost=1462495519][/doublepost]This is right out of the box but I didn't discover till I was at a mobile shop to put on a tempered glass. When receiving the phone protective stickers are on front and back so I did not remove to check.
Also there are black dots/ spot on the back cover
