Sorry - can someone clarify (lost the plot in this thread)

If I reserve for pickup do I pay via ApplePay on my phone or purely reserve it and pay in store?

Reason I ask is that I use a card I only have stored in ApplePay- the actual physical credit card is 200miles away at my folks house.
If you order for in store pick-up then your card will be charged Teusday / Wednesday so all paid for when your collect your device if its collection Friday.

If you are using the reserve for the AUP (Apple Upgrade Prigram) then you pay when you arrive at store and setup the program.

Really? I thought you pay when you pick it up?

Balls.

Did you keep checking for stock or have the reservation since Friday?

I checked on the off chance this morning. There were 3 X iPhone 7 32gbs black left because I added 2 on my Apple ID and 1 on hubby's and checked out. I then cancelled the 1 on hubby's after realising I couldn't cancel just 1 of mine I would need to cancel both. Ideally wanted 1 on each of our Apple ids but was frightened that if I cancelled my 2 that it would have been snapped up before I got chance to order the one. Looks like I did the right thing.

Ah. So they were not the plus models- that makes me feel a bit better :)

I though that too. Spoke to apple yesterday and they confirmed that payment will be taken from card Tuesday / Wednesday before dispatch for then delivery to store on for collection Friday.

Delivery to store? I'm confused. In that case why did I have to choose Watford and not Milton Keynes then. I thought I was just ordering the allocated stock? I assume someon had cancelled so I grabbed their order.

I tried Watford for pickup but they were unavailable, must have been too late. It was like 8:11.

So there are still reservations left for the 256gb plus in gold and rose gold for launch day pick up at my local apple stores. However it's going through the iPhone upgrade reservation link, which I'm not wanting to do. I'm wanting to pay outright. I really want the black but I currently do not have a phone at all as I sold my 6s plus yesterday. I do have a black (matte) one on pre order with a 27-29th deliver window.

Do you think they will allow me to just pay outright for the phone instead when in store? Surely a sale is a sale?

Also as a side thought, there will be people who do not pass the credit check for the phones on the Apple upgrade program (its Barclays who are ****s when it comes to passing credit checks) will this stock be released to walk ins do you think??

Last year when I reserved for pickup I paid in store, however there are no limits on Apple Pay in apple stores. I paid for my 6s plus using my Apple Watch in store last year with no issues at all.

On a different note how come you can't reserve the watches for pickup in store. It only lets you order online for delivery October now. It's says the watches will be available in some stores from 16th

Has anyone bought this case for there iPhone 7 / iPhone 7 Plus if so what is it like ?
i've been thinking about getting a clear case so i can still see the jet black colour.

If its not good may i have some other clear case suggestions ?

No idea on that specific case, but I'm not a huge fan of cases that are made with TPU plastic as it's soft and similar to silicone cases.

I bought this one

There's a discount code somewhere in this thread, I got £3 off.

I'm slightly confused. Are there two types of reservations? One to join the upgrade programme and one for reserve and pay in full?

How do I check stock levels for both? I can only seem to find the upgrade stock/store checker page.

Thanks.

Yes there are two types of reservation however they are just two different ways of buying stock allocated to a specific store. There are not different stock levels, although one method you pay up front you aren't buying a phone that will be delivered to store for specially for you, you are buying a phone they will already be getting.

That's pretty crap though isn't it! So you are sold what you believe to be an unclocked phone, stick in your O2 sim and bang it's locked to them. You then have to pay O2 to unlock a phone which they didn't even provide.

Don't Three unlock for free? Stick in one of their Sims first and unlock it?

Thankyou for that i might get that one, have you seen amazon has there own AmazonBasics case

https://www.amazon.co.uk/AmazonBasi...585326&sr=8-1&keywords=amazon+basics+iPhone+7

I've actually got an official leather one coming next week. I'm not exactly happy with paying £49 for it but I had the equivalent case on my 6 and 6S and liked it.

I've bought a cheap unofficial one to see what a clear case looks like with the jet black iPhone. If it's good I'll return the Apple case.

Thank you. How do I reserve a device that the store is already getting as supposed to ordering, paying up front and having it delivered to store?
