Same thing happened to my John Lewis credit card. I've been assured everything is fine.

I'll still try and get the phone a bit earlier by going John Lewis or Krcs in Nottingham early Monday morning.

Same here! Apple said everything should be fine.

When does JL start selling the iphone 7 plus?

Perhaps they're getting loads in so have decreased their prices accordingly?
CEX are the worst for prices. I used comparemymobile the day of the press conference and locked in a price for 10 days. The day later the prices were 80 quid less for me.
Going to be using a knackered old iPhone 5 for a while!

I've used CEX plenty of times myself, you might get less money but there is no risk of the phone getting "damaged" and ending up with less than you were expecting from a phone recycling website.

Interesting. Not what I was told by Apple, which was that you can pay upfront, but time will tell I suppose.

Were you told by online or support on the phone? Because they know nothing when it comes to retail stores plans, as we've seen before in the past.

Unless my brother is messing with me, which I doubt.

Over the phone, confirmed by sales. As I say, nothing in the terms and conditions that prevents you paying upfront.

Whilst that would make sense in the US as they had the upgrade program last year, and people could not get their yearly upgrade, this is the first year the U.K. have this. I have worked in 2 apple stores in the past and all they really care about is how many they can sell and how much revenue they make. I doubt they will be turning paying customers away when they have targets to hit (managers that is)

The phones will still be sold. Just on a different day. It's only going to be a couple a day that will go that way, so doesn't have an impact on targets.

I was offered 340 CEX were buying for 300 and selling the same ones for 600.

They can tell you it's not A grade in CEX too. I admire their business model but the stores always stink of BO and full of oddballs.

Exactly this! My s7 edge returned with a smash screen and the whole display was green and flickering after it was sent to mazuma in perfect condition. They wanted to give me £130. I had the phone returned and got a replacement under my insurance. I've filed a claim against Royal Mail to cover my excess (£60).

They still want to have good sales on day one, it affects how much stock they will get moving forwards. If they don't sell, the phones will get shipped to other stores that will appear to have a higher demand. Now for a store like covent garden this may not be an issue as that store is a flagship and will easily sell 2x-3x the smaller stores.

It will be down to manager descretion. However I have just received word from a friend who still works at one of the stores I worked at saying your not committed to IUP and you can pay by card.

The FAQ in the link attached to the reservation (in the Apple Store app) states that you can change your purchase option from the upgrade program to either full price or carrier financing.

For those who have a iP7+ Black 128GB pre ordered, I'd like to know what region you live in and whether yours got pushed forward. I have a theory that those who have London/central London delivery addresses are not getting pushed forward, perhaps something to do with the courier logistics.

My shipping is central London and mine hasn't been pushed forward, despite me ordering well before a lot of other people who have been pushed forward.
I live in Croydon so this adds to your theory.

I wish I sent it to my term-time address in Norwich now, probably less 'busy' up there so probably able to get it sooner.

I ordered at 8:15... that's when I was able to get into the site, I ordered a 7+ 128 in black and got my confirmation email at 8:18... always said 4th-10th Oct for me...

Just ordered an Apple Watch 2 for delivery October which is fine by me. Problem is I hope it doesn't get brought forward to the next few weeks because I won't have the cash in my account until 22nd September. Is there a chance it might if someone cancels etc?

I'm in the same situation, I get paid 23rd...

Wondering...opinions please....wanting a 7+ plus 128Gb black. I can wait a bit if don't get straight away. I'm probably going to get the next iPhone if it's what is rumoured to be a big update, would normally wait/skip. So.....

Buy outright stay on my SIMO £25/month, order is in says 27-29 Sep; £819

Go the Apple upgrade program £45/month

Go EE max I get a discount so is £99 upfront and be £55/month, allows upgrade phone on same or more tariff after 12 months a new 24 month contract.

Unsure what to do. Don't like the long commitment of 24 months but suppose could be ok. Not sure on trade in after 12 months on EE also as says good cosmetic condition. Very ambiguous.

So comments please!!

What I did is upgrade to a non Apple phone (got a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge) before the keynote, day before the keynote I locked in a price for my 6s+ from a recycle company. Once the pre order was in the bag I sold the s7 edge and sent off my 6s+ before the cut off from recycle company. I am actually making £80 from the whole thing and to make it even better I'm on a much cheaper contract than I would have been if it where to upgrade to an iPhone on launch. Got the Samsung for free on a £41pm contract, not a chance I'd get anywhere near that for a 7plus.

I do this every 24 months and on the years I'm not due an upgrade I lock the price in for last years phone the day before the keynote, send the phone off as late as possible and just buy the new phone outright.

I've put my SE up for sale on eBay - I've done this with every phone i've sold and have never had an issue. CEX are saying they'll buy a phone like mine for £205 and sell for £355, so I think its a no-brainer to go for eBay, even with their fees.
