Anyone here on O2 refresh contract?
Because last year's iPhone release was on the 25th I can get a new phone on the 25th. I have tried to phone them for 2 days about reserving one as was worried about their stock levels but you can't get through on the phone. Yesterday I decided to try the chat. The O2 person said you can only do the refresh upgrade in store but he assured me there will be stock and I can reserve jet black plus in store to collect on the 25th.Today I went to a store in the west end and they said they will have no stock of 7plus! And you can't reserve one when they come in! He said I have to do it on the phone! They handed me a phone which kept me waiting 30 minutes without anyone picking up..I then had to leave. Has anyone here any experience of refresh? It seems new customers can just preorder online but the loyal customers of 12 years plus can't do anything despite having a contract promising upgrade on the 25th. I am furious! They should have a dedicated refresh phone line...surely there are lots of us?!

I upgraded last year without any problems to a 6s plus 64gb and this year I upgraded to the 7 128Gb jet black without much problems.

They have different pools for reservations and walk-ins.

Almost certainly you won't be able to change your mind on launch day because most of the walk-in stock goes to those who waited in line. If you do want to change your mind, you'll be limited to the selection they have for anyone who turns up that day (which based on current availability, will only be non-plus non-black colours)

Your reserved phone which you then don't want would become available either later that day or the next morning for new reservation customers, or the next morning for walk-ins if it hasn't been reserved already.

Here in Bath, they print stickers for every walk in phone that is available and stick it to a SouthGate, Bath business card. Then when you're in the line, they give you the business card for the phone you want which you can then exchange once you get inside.
That's cool. I always wondered how it worked for the walk ins. I wasn't in the walk in line at Kingston last year as I had a reservation and went in that line. I reserved a 6S plus in silver. When I got there I asked if I could change to gold. They said yes but they only had 16 GB in stock and I wanted 128GB so I stuck with what I had reserved.

26th sept to 3rd oct seems to be batch one for the jetblack +models. Network carriers, Very, John Lewis are all a different kettle of fish. Here is hoping your order gets pushed forward
Yeah it seems like it! I haven't come across anyone who ordered directly from Apple and is expecting delivery on the 16th. Also thank you, fingers crossed :) :D

But they are paying for them upfront so they have to keep the exact model, capacity and colour ordered. So they should be assigned a serial number in advance.

I was surprised as well. Previously, ordering online for an in store pickup was just like standard ordering, but just delivering to a different address, as that's what it was like last time I did it. That guy says what's happening this year is different, apparently, that it's some weird version of in store reservation.

You're contradicting what many people on here have already had confirmed. You're saying there is going to be stock for walk ins. Many people have confirmed that there's not going to be any sold to people queuing.

Not yet she didn't! Not at all convinced anything other than Apple will be around launch day (maybe not even Apple!)

I'm hoping you're right, I'm really envious of my sister right now! I also thought the same, since Apple is the manufacturer! But EE seems really adamant and are in fact boastfully guaranteeing launch day delivery for all models which I guess is awesome for their pay monthly customers.

Interesting one for myself...

Ive ordered the 7+ Silver 128gb and also 7+ Jet Black 128gb.

Via Apple Store App, the Silver model shows as 'Preparing for Dispatch' with a delivery date of the 16th.
Jet Black model shows as 'Processing Items' with a delivery window of 10th - 17th Oct.

What makes it interesting is that only the Jet Black model shows in my Apple Support pages, complete with a Serial Number.
What does it all mean?! haha ;)

(I never knew about the Support page until tonight, so I'm not that familiar with it at all)

So would you be able to create a page where you select the phone you want and the system constantly polls all stores to find availability? ;-)
Haha, that's a whole different kettle of fish!

I've had enough people ask that I'll look into the best way of doing it. It might have to be a twitter bot that @'s you, because you need immediate notification, and at least with twitter you could get it wherever you wanted.

People have reported all iPhones are black in the picture on the support pages so double check the info mate. Fingers crossed it actually is the jet black!!

Been monitoring this thread since Friday, i have ordered a iPhone 7 Black 32GB for collection on Friday.

Never got an iPhone on release day so just wondered how does it work in terms of collection?

And should i be worried my order is still showing as processing?

Thanks in advance

I am indeed. If I didn't have the phone I wanted, i'd be queuing up early on Friday. We'll will see though on Friday! :)

My one one piece of advice would be: Don't assume anyone on Apple support chat or phone has any idea what Apple retail stores are doing.

I used pushbullet for mine.

Agree, they all look black, much like all iPhone 6 were white...
I highly doubt a phone which is still "processing" and for which I assume you haven't been charged yet would appear in your support profile...

Definitely shows Jet Black on my order, so that Im happy with. There isn't a way to check via Support Profile, is there?

EDIT - I get ya now mate, even Silver etc are showing a Black placeholder image? Damn. That means it will be the Silver model then, makes complete sense now. Unfortunately. ;)

Yeh, i've got a system that already works for Pushover - but only nerds know what Pushover is!

I also don't wanna push things too far. If i start allowing people to subscribe to notifications, I think someone at Apple might not like some random guy collecting people's details for anything related to their products. I'm already technically breachingpushing the rules of the reservation system :p

Yet you're happy for them to collect your data. Time to turn it around for a change.

With these recycling places, do you need to give the phone to them with the charger and cable? If not I might just do it through them instead of going on eBay or going to CeX. Always handy to have a spare Apple brand charger & cable.
