Just received email saying payment has been declined on apple. Though when i enter new payment information it says "authorisation failed". Contacted Barclays and they said everything is okay, though still says authorisation failed on apples side. Tried another card and the same story. Cant contact apple as its out of hours.

Anyone else had this issue?????????

I thought the jet black ones have been delayed?
I think they're probably going to ship direct from China (at least the pluses - hence the longer time between ship and delivery times on peoples orders), so we'll probably see them dispatch anytime but they'll take a few extra days to get here.

It's not unusual for constrained supply items to ship direct from China (they did for the first plus units with the iPhone 6)

There are pluses, and as for the price increase, Brexit is to blame. Look and the price increase across Europe, they only saw the equivalent of a £15 increase.
By Brexit - u mean currency fluctuation and that is only half the story.

Unit sales will be lower for the 7- so a price increase compensates for Apple. Also , they are more loath to jack up prices in the US, so would again compensate in their foreign markets , especially the richer ones where they have greatest market share (ie UK)

Have a look at the price increase for the iPad Pro 9.7 with cell and the Apple Pencil. That's not Brexit pal!

I'm more than likely wrong, but surely they would have produced some of them before the iPhone 7 was announced

I think someone on this thread had the same issue. They has called Apple and Apple re-took the card details and entered them manually again over the phone and then the payment went through.

Ah yes, your post wasn't loaded when I made mine. Noticed it when the thread refreshed! Hoping the JBs get bumped forward a bit, but not likely I guess. I'm sure it'll be worth it!
Yeah hoping it's worth the wait too! Also kee refreshing the instore pickup in hope some more are available!

Well, you'd have thought so. But i'm starting to wonder if Apple gave all their in-country stock to other retailers and carriers.

It doesn't make sense and it (probably rightly!) will cause some uproar, but we'll find out in the next few days if that's true!

Where were you tryng to enter new payment details? If I log into my account and go to my order, there doesn't seem to be any way to amend or change the payment details.

I'm going to call Apple in the morning to see what's going on......

Funnily enough, I've just had an email from Apple saying my card payment was declined as well. I called my card issuer, Tesco, and they said there had been no problem with the payment, no block or anything was put on it, and as far as they were concerned the payment had been authorised at their end.

I can't help but wonder if Apple's systems have got their knickers in a twist with the volume of transactions it's dealing with. I'll call them tomorrow and chase it up, I'm just hoping it doesn't affect me getting my phone on Friday.

This has happened with my series 1 watch, due for collection on Friday. Got the email, called barclaycard and they said it had gone through, don't let them try again.

I don't think it could be tried again as it was an Apple Pay transaction.

Will see what the order status says tomorrow.

Of course it's brexit for the phone. Previous years the UK increase for iPhone price wasn't much more than the rest of Europe, but this year it's 10x. If you're going to do a comparison, use iPhones, not Apple Pencil, mate.

I thought last year was a one off with two weeks between pre-orders and launch? Or is it always two weeks?
I heard on a podcasts that they want the launch to be on the 16th so that sales will count towards their sales for this quarter as they have had two quarters of non growth.

Thinking about it you might be right? I'm not even sure anymore! And that sounds about right in terms of making their figures look better

Oddly enough, since phoning my card issuer about 30 minutes ago, I have just logged back in to my online Mastercard account and I can now see the payment to Apple showing as "pending", with today's date against it.

Yes I believe so.

They're both overpriced but the leather one at least feels premium.

I tried them both when I bought my 6 and found the silicone was too grippy, so it would get stuck in pockets etc and make dropping more likely.

My case for the 6 held up pretty well and has been used on my 6S since last year.

I've ordered the black leather case for the 7+.

Definitely not. The leather wears badly and discolours.

I have had the Apple leather case in midnight blue and saddle brown on my 6 and both have been really good. Yes, they do discolour over time and go dark but especially the saddle brown ages quite beautifully.

I have tried other cases such as the silicone but always go back to the Apple leather cases as I like the grip etc. Definitely purchasing a new one for my 7. But it is simply a matter of preference. I found the silicone very annoying with lint etc although it cleaned easily. I always put my phone in my back pocket so of course it collected lint! But like I say, it is preference!

Thank you all for sharing your experiences. My brother's 6S leather case hasn't stood the test of time well but I'm not sure whether that's just carelessness on his part or a genuine design flaw.

Not an easy decision :/
