Hi everyone, When it says dispatch in 6-8 days is that from the pre order day or the actual day it goes on sale? Thanks

It's not entirely clear. Some people have had their orders moved up so that the 6-8 days is pretty accurate from the date of pre-order. Others, like me, haven't had their orders move up and so it is closer to being 6-8 days from the time of launch.

I can't help but to keep thinking maybe 'Jet Black' was a bad choice after reading apples small print,

Still have the option to cancel the current order and opt for the safer 'Black' option

Having to keep the handset in a case all the time seems to negate the point of having the new high gloss finish, but since I'm in what I believe is the 'first batch' of UK 'Jet Black' handsets I can't help but continuously jumping from one side of the fence to the other.

Anyone else suffering from which black is best syndrome, is there a cure!?

I now have a (temporary) cheapo Spigen clear case and an Anker glass screen protector for a 7 Plus here, both came next day from Amazon UK this week.

Sena wallet case has been charged but not yet shipped from the US.
Do you have a link for the screen protector? I can't seem to find for the 7Plus.....

The disclaimer about best used in a case is what made me go for normal black instead, luckily I had decided by Thursday night.

I take it all the orders which show 6-8 business days are from the 16th and not from the day of ordering.

There are two dates for the two stages:

- the "6-8 business days" is how long from time of order before it physically ships from the factory in China eg: the date they send it, NOT the date it arrives with you

- the "Delivery" date is when it arrives with you, which has the 6-8 business days build time + shipping time included

Sometimes (but not always) the delivery date comes forward if your phone gets onto an earlier plane than first expected - my iPhone 6 did. Some people on this thread have had their dates move forward, whilst some haven't, which generates intensive speculation, paranoia and unwarranted abuse about "stupid Apple" / farce / fiasco / disaster etc ... ;)

my interpretation is from date of order - so 6-8 would be working days if ordered on the 9th then potentially ship between 22nd-28th and then add some days for shipping = your delivery estimate?

Contact them? I did order these through their Amazon store not their website.
I believe last time I ordered straight from their site it took longer!
All arrived today via Royal Mail second class signed for...
I ordered through Amazon too, and today is the final day of the window they gave me, so if it's not here by tommorow I'll get in touch with Amazon. It's just usually Amazon stuff turns up really early

Mine wasn't a prime order, it came straight from Spigen. Surprised it is taking that long.
Has it been despatched?

Here's a question. Like most things you buy you can return it for an exchange/refund within 30 days even if the reason is "not for me". Lets say you really don't like the Jet Black for it's looks and want to return to for a matte black, but there are some "micro abrasions" due to "normal use" as Apple would call it. Will they let you swap it out?
I intend to ask this on Friday when picking up my JB.

They should let you return as it is normal use. Also the microabrasions are only really visible under bright light so most of the time you won't be able to see them. As long as there isn't any real damage, a few abrasions should be no problem.

But for me personally, a couple of scratches doesn't matter as much as the feel and uniqueness of the device. That being said I'm quite OCD so I have no idea how I'll feel once I get mine :confused::p

From initial impressions of Jet Black, i guess it comes down to whether or not you are going to be bothered if your phone shows wear and tear if its not in a case or covered by protectors.

FWIW I think some of the iPhones look really good once they've had a bit of use and you get some marks on the outside case, but the downside to that is come upgrade time if you try and sell it privately the value will take a hit.

I'm in the same situation! I'm also on the hunt for a cure but no luck yet :(

Mine wasn't prime or anything, just Amazon bog standard free delivery! But it dispatched a while ago now, I can't ever remember having an Amazon order be delivered outside of the window. And Royal Mail have already called at my house today so it looks like it's going to be late :(

if it looks battered inside the first 14 days, its going straight back! as long as I've not dropped it, Apple will take it back and I'll change it

I'd get chatting on the Amazon chat thingy if I was you, they're normally quite good to send out replacements if you push them a little. Tell them I got mine although I only ordered on Monday!

It says we should receive a text before we do store pickups to say they are ready. I assume this will be tomorrow? The money hasn't left my account yet. In fact I am not convinced the payment will be taken beforehand now. Its all too late.

She knows... she cancelled several already... she will order this one and cancel it again too.
Blimy I thought I was bad dithering about with the S7 edge for over a month when I knew after the first day that it probably wasn't for me.

I think I will do that now, see what they say! Although it's worth saying that it wasn't shipped direct from Spigen, it was from Keep in Case. Spigen didn't have the case I wanted for sale direct from them on Amazon. It's the Ultra Hybrid Air Cushion one
