iPhone 7/7+ - UK Orders & Dispatches Thread

Anyone with the early 7+ black orders, whether preparing for dispatch or still processing, I'd expect delivery this coming week with some proper movement updates tomorrow

Just checked my status and my Silver 256 Plus is still on PFD. It should start to move tomorrow or Tuesday.

The U.S are definitely getting priory as my SS42 AW2 is still stuck in processing for the 30th September and the Americans are reporting that their October deliveries are now PFD

Nope. Mazuma Mobile are one of the only resellers that won't deduct value for scratches and cosmetic wear. It says on their website that you get exactly the price you're quoted, which is £230 for my iPhone 6 Plus 16GB.

Still beats posting it off and risking damage/loss for the same sale price. At least CPW were the same for my 6 64gb.

Even staff at Apple Covent Garden store couldn't believe it.

You should feel lucky. If one of the largest retailers in the UK only gets about 14 and Apple themselves seemingly get 0 (doesn't make sense), you're doing quite well

TBH I haven't decided fully where I plan to sell. I've put in an order with Mazuma just to 'lock in' my quote. But there's every chance I'll just go to CPW.

Just a note on CPW. I went in on Friday night after collecting my 7 from JL. Lad said did you buy from us, said no, do you want a new contract , said no, he said ok looking at £140 for your ip6 16gb, walked out!!!

That wasn't my experience yesterday. I've never bought from CPW and had my shiny iPhone 7 in other hand so definitely wasn't taking a contract. Got £240 for 6 64gb.

No it's Music Magpie who have been doing that. Mazuma stay true to the quote.

Mazuma did the same to me two years ago. Knocked £40 off for a scratch (just one). I'm done with the ones where you post it off to them, I'll be sticking with Game/CPW etc from now on.

Yes the US and China get priority because they are Apple's biggest markets. It sucks I know.

Yeah I did the same thing. So hassle free doing CPW, tbh I'd probably take £10-£20 less as it was so easy.

Surprises me how little they looked at the phone, sure this guy didn't even check all the buttons. It did have a brand new screen on it so it looked mint from the front so maybe that's why they didn't even look at the back!

Yeah there's no harm in locking in a few quotes and then seeing what's your best options.

I think it will come down to the store, mind he jumped on me as soon as I walked through the door and seemed a right cocky little tw*t!!

Sounds like the guy I met in game. He hadn't even seen the phone as it was in the box and just said you're looking at £310 max!

Apple takes down their systems every Sunday morning for maintenance. Also they never seem to update their systems over the weekend on customer systems even though things are normally still working back of house

Yeah obviously he didn't have a clue! To be fair, just remembered the first guy I spoke to did ask someone else do we just trade in phones if not taking a new contract. And luckily the other guy knew about it.

Although I did get a good deal on my 6S plus I do question their knowledge about phones. Whilst I was there a guy came in and they were trying to sell him a phone but he didn't know what he wanted. They asked him if he liked taking pictures and he said he did. They told him that the Huwewi P9 had the best camera on the market. Obviously we don't know where the iPhone 7 will fit in but up until now the S7 has been widely regarded to have the best camera.

Don't panic.

Apple have a fixed maintenance window at this time on a Sunday, so it's often down for ~4 hours this time on a Sunday. You'll find various parts of Apple's systems are down.

Nothing, just make sure they keep the receipt and put about an hours parking on the ticket, they will be back within 45 minutes on your behalf to return it again.

I'm still really torn between black and jet black!

Have a 7 black in hand, but went back to store yesterday for genius bar appt to fix screen on my 6 and held the 7 jet black, does look & feel really nice to hold. Not plasticky feeling like I thought it would.

Had a bit of a result really, when I picked up my 7 and wife's 7 on Friday, the guy serving me was usually on genius bar, he looked at my 6 which had hair line crack in screen and said we'll replace that for free under extended 2 year consumer law. Just say you don't know how it happened, it just appeared... so went back the next day and got it done for free! It's been cracked like that for about a year, wish I'd known! I got my 6 on launch day, so I literally had about 2 days left to get it done for free. I was all set to sell it for £90 as broken, but once screen was done, walked downstairs to CPW and got £240 cash for it. The back was quite scratched, 1 little dent, but they didn't even look at it, I'm sure Mazuma etc would offer less because of that.

I had a crack appear on my 6 screen, strangely it did appear out of nowhere I heard an odd noise and looked at my phone and it had a diagonal crack. They replaced the screen free of charge and said they do that if it's just one crack rather than a shatter.

This is why I would rather wait until October for my new 7+ and get it direct from Apple than buy from John Lewis etc.

I didn't tell them I'd dropped it on the wooden floor half an hour before the crack appeared though!

My battery on my 6 seems to be failing according to the Battery Life app it's dropped from 1500/1751 mAh (86%) on Wednesday to 1150/1751 mAh (66%) today. On the phone to Apple yesterday and they ran a diagnostic and said it's not the hardware?? But to take in for the genius appointment anyway. My AppleCare expires today but as I reported the issue before that they will honour it if they do agree it needs a new battery.

I'm so mad to hear people's Genius Bar success stories. I have no such luck!

If I walked in to one of my local stores with some scratches on the screen or a battery at 62% capacity (which my 6 is now!) they would laugh me out of the door if I asked them to fix it for free.
