Yup order status down for me too; was in PFD bumped up to 20-22 camp . I suspect our luck is about to change for the better . The next update should be dispatched I hope

I'm so mad to hear people's Genius Bar success stories. I have no such luck!

If I walked in to one of my local stores with some scratches on the screen or a battery at 62% capacity (which my 6 is now!) they would laugh me out of the door if I asked them to fix it for free.
Covent Garden replaced the battery on my iPhone 5 for free two years ago when it was just under two years old. I didn't have AppleCare on that phone. I was fully expecting to pay until he realised I'd bought the phone direct from Apple.

You've got to be more persistent with it.
Expect them to fix it, don't ask them. Know your consumer law etc, and they'll do it to save the hassle.

I know my consumer law - that's how I got an iPhone 5 screen that had a yellow-edge defect on the screen replaced, but that was because I knew I was in the right. (Took me an hour and involved the store manager lying / making failed attempts to guess what the issue could be that made it not Apple's fault).

There's no consumer law protection against scratches, chips, dents or battery depletion (unless the battery depletion is abnormal).

Surely having a battery capacity of 62% is abnormal? Shouldn't it last more than a year?

Mine too. They did that with a lot of 5's as there was an acknowledged battery defect on the 5

Ive got a Black 7 128GB being delivered tomorrow but I've changed the way I want to pay for it and would prefer do the monthly payments options. Can I take the phone that is being delivered into a store and they'll swap the payment method over? If I can't do that do I just reserve via the Iup route and then when I'm there I tell I want the monthly payment not the upgrade plan?

Sorry if this has been already answered but I've been away on holiday and can't read through all 300+pages.

I think it's meant to retain 80% after 2 years?

Sheza how do you find that out? How many charge cycles?
Search 'Battery' in the app store, it's the 'Battery Life' application (Robert Tkotzyk is the developer). Go to 'Raw Data' in the app. It's free.

I don't see how that would be possible. I guess they could refund the phone, and if not opened and then sell it back to you on iUP. Not sure there processes would allow as the refunded phone might not go back into their stock straight away.

But either way you should be able to reserve that phone easily enough this week for pickup. And just straight return the other one.

Sorry to burst the bubble to iPad fans but i personally think that the new iPad's will be out in march and might even see iPhone SE 2 ? it'd be cool if the SE had the iPhone 7 colour and design ?

I suspect they'll tweak the iPads. I'm not sure there's much more to add. The larger Pro could have the true tone display and wide colour display. They could both have force touch (although I think I read somewhere that this is harder to achieve on a larger display). Other than that it may just be the usual improvements of batter battery or slimmer, better processor, colours etc. Sure they are all things that they would want to get in for Christmas if they can.

I'll be keen to see what they do with the SE moniker. Does Apple see SE models as special one off designs/colours? Does Apple see these as a way to introduce a product at a lower price or is it more to introduce something that may not be (or may longer be) mainstream?

It would be good if Apple could introduce alternative versions of their products using the SE moniker (and not as a discount or to update/reinvent an older product). I like Apple products but I don't necessarily want everything to look similar the rest of the range. All the current iPhone 7s look the same (as other 7s and all the 6 ranges) except for the jet black finish. The jet black finish could've been listed as a special edition model. Even though it's the same phone, it looks so different to the rest of the range. If the jet black models are harder to make, they could have announced that there will also be the iPhone 7 special edition available later in the year. This may have enabled the rest of the models made in sufficient quantities while Apple prepared for the launch of the iPhone SE.

I did read someone that said they gave charger. I had box, charger etc with me but they offered me top price I saw on their site without so was happy with that and kept the charger.
Yes I didn't have to give my charger, cable or box and got the top price too.

They can do it. They were telling people in store on Friday when they were having trouble with credit check system that they could purchase the phone for full price and then return within 14 days and switch to the IUP.

Haven't seen anybody mention 5th Gen Apple TV :)

Not much mentioned at all. The obvious upgrade to the Apple TV is to 4K but there's not much 4K content around and I'm not sure it's worthy of considering this as a 5th generation model just because of 4K.

There's been rumours about content for a long time now but not much happening. From reading various articles, the broadcasters/networks don't seem to want to embrace Apple's rumoured model. Even on the standalone apps, UK broadcasters such as ITV and Channel 4 haven't released apps yet.

Apple prefers online content rather than locally stored content so it's unlikely that they embrace TV tuners in any way (especially with the current storage options available for the Apple TV). Tuners could be a way around the current lack of content though. It could be useful but seems a bit of a backwards step with the way TV is going.

Apple TV now has home kit and I guess Apple could see the device as a hub for something similar to like Amazon Echo or Google Home.

I haven't heard much about the new apple tv, that's why i didn't mention it and theres usually a large gap between apple tv updates so i don't know, The 3rd gen apple tv was introduced in March 2012 so it was over three years between the third and fourth gen apple tv so honestly i'm unsure, though steve jobs did always call it a hobby and it maybe still thought as that at Apple ?
