Might just be a few stores. The town I work in has 5 phone shops, CPW has been complained about a lot, it might just be unknowledgable staff, but what they have been doing is giving out contracts and refusing exchanges and telling customers they are just a contractor and the customer needs to go to EE or Vodafone etc for an exchange, we aren't even partnered with them, one of our customers took out a sim only contract and bought a sim free phone from them, the phone started playing up with 2-3 weeks we told him that car phone will exchange it for him. They sent him back to us and he was really angry they had told him that it was the network operators obligation to replace the phone, we ended up going above and beyond and contacting Samsung and exercising his warranty, if we hadn't done this he would have screamed our store down. They don't care about their customers in this town, the staff jump on you as soon as you walk in but they won't take your concerns seriously after a sale.

The ironic thing is they used to be the best place in town. They're used to be just a phones4u and CPW and there better service got them a lot of customer loyalty, then when the networks started opening up shops they have just gone down hill, there deals are normally the best, but the service here is terrible.

Maybe it's gone down since they merged with PC world and Currys. i agree about the staff not being that knowledgeable. They tried to tell some guy that the Huawei P9 had the best camera on the market yesterday so....

Do they buy straight in the store? I may do this even though the quote they have is £30 short of envirofone. i've never sent a phone off to any of these trade ins before so a little skeptical. Heard anything bad about envirofone?

I sold my iPhone 6s 64GB unlocked iPhone to Envirophone last week for £414.86. I was a little worried as there was a nick and a couple of scratches on the back, but they paid full price. Will be using them again next year :)

Just left Apple Brent Cross. I had a reservation for 7+ 128 gold with the off chance I could swap for black matte (didn't happen) so I let it go.

Had a play around with the ones on display. For those of you after the Jet black good luck. They had two on display they had more scratches on them then I'd I've ever seen on an iphone and it's only been on display for 2 days????

Matte was flawless and even the pink didn't look bad. The jet black reminded me a lot of the 3GS.

The new home button was a lot better then I anticipated and reacts faster then the ones in the older models.

The guys at the store said they didn't get stock on the weekend and that everything that has been going into the reserve system is effectually what people cancelled since Friday.

They said fresh stock should be monday night ready for 6am Tuesday

The shambles continues. I'm not really sure what I'm supposed to guarantee a phone on launch day if getting an order in 8 minutes after they go live isn't sufficient (not mentioning the fact that the store wasn't really live until a few minutes after 8.01).

Jet Black 128GB 7... STILL stuck on processing.

Some of you will defend Apple, but I wager that's because you were lucky enough to get the phone you wanted on "launch day".

I completely agree with the poster above. The launch day was supposed to be the 23rd, but they pushed it forward a week to twist the knife in on Samsung. I'm sure the stock levels by next Friday will be comparable to previous launches, but they sure weren't yesterday.

I look forward to Apple's traditional feedback request once this debacle is over.

I've had a launch day iPhone every year since 2008. This is the first year I've not managed to get one due to ordering a Black Plus...am I bothered? A bit...will I get over it? Yeh...would I call it a shambles? Definitely not.

How did you get that much?? I got an offer of £352 on 6th September....haven't sent it in yet though as I'm deciding whether to keep the 6s or 7

Now thinking of canceling my 7+JB order and downgrading to a second hand 6 64gb to tied me over to the 8 next year. I previously had and sold a 6s plus, do at least trying a smaller size will be something new. Anyone got one for sale?

Anyone else got a phone coming in the TNT Shipment that despatched yesterday and is at Pudong now? - scheduled for Sept 26th? I am hoping they come a lot earlier!!! WAY too long for a shipment to take surely?

I have one if you don't mind having to replace the battery, as it's quite old now.

Me too but can't see that being anytime before the 26th.

Yes I didn't have to give my charger, cable or box and got the top price too.

They can do it. They were telling people in store on Friday when they were having trouble with credit check system that they could purchase the phone for full price and then return within 14 days and switch to the IUP.
Apple online store orders that are delivered to you, are on a completely different system to retail stores. U cannot make changes to an online order while in a store, in fact you cannot even return it in store .

Not sure how the online order picked up in store works..

I've had negative experiences buying from them in the past, I work for a mobile network that doesn't partner with CPW but I hear almost daily from consumers what the aftercare is like. Atleast with Apple I have peace of mind. Also I got AppleCare with it as well. Just in case, £25 for a screen replacement is really good
Once u get an iPhone from anywhere in the U.K., u can just deal with Apple, at least in the first year. And u can add apple care too

I'll be selling a 6s 64GB Gold, and a 6S+ 64GB Rose Gold in the coming two weeks.

I set up the purchase on their website on the 25th August. This was before the prices dropped due to the iPhone 7 announcement.

Then on the 3rd September, they emailed me and extended the offer by an additional 7 days.

I then came across a code on this forum for an additional 5% to be added onto the price, so I emailed Envirophone and they added this on to my quote. I sent the phone special delivery Monday 5th September and the full £414.86 was in my account 2 days later.

I'm so mad to hear people's Genius Bar success stories. I have no such luck!

If I walked in to one of my local stores with some scratches on the screen or a battery at 62% capacity (which my 6 is now!) they would laugh me out of the door if I asked them to fix it for free.

It really does depend if you get a 'good' or 'bad' Genius Bar, or Apple Store in general. It depends also on the temperament of the manager. My local is pretty decent and I've always managed to get devices replaced under warranty. They gave me over £700 of free repairs to my MacBook when the GPU replacement program came up for the rMBP. I've had some bad experiences with the general floor staff in there but that's because they tend to mostly be students doing seasonal work and don't really know what they're talking about.

My sister has a 128gb 6 she's about to sell to Game in excellent condition. Message if interested :)

That's a decent price. I just bought a brand new 6s 64gb off a mate for £300 for the Mrs. Granted it was a free upgrade from 3 that he didn't want

Yeah it's such a mixed bag in my experience. Though Touchwood, Solihull is by far and away the worst Apple Store I've ever experienced. Several Genius visits over several years all went badly.

Meanwhile the London stores are great and Highcross follows closely behind in my experience.

I've got the same but when I looked into it, the phones comes via Shanghai Pudong Airport, they don't fly until 02:30 (local time) on Monday so not until late Sunday evening in the U.K., even then they fly into Liege, Belgium, then from there they either fly TNT or ASL into either Stanstead or East Midlands Airport, I'd say they'll arrive Tuesday at the very earliest.

Two days of non-stop store demo usage is hardly comparable to everyday use.
