Just left Apple Brent Cross. I had a reservation for 7+ 128 gold with the off chance I could swap for black matte (didn't happen) so I let it go.

Had a play around with the ones on display. For those of you after the Jet black good luck. They had two on display they had more scratches on them then I'd I've ever seen on an iphone and it's only been on display for 2 days????

Matte was flawless and even the pink didn't look bad. The jet black reminded me a lot of the 3GS.

The new home button was a lot better then I anticipated and reacts faster then the ones in the older models.

The guys at the store said they didn't get stock on the weekend and that everything that has been going into the reserve system is effectually what people cancelled since Friday.

They said fresh stock should be monday night ready for 6am Tuesday

I saw the matte and JB scratched at Apple stores too yesterday.

To be honest i dont think you can judge that on actual usage. What people are doing is abusing the display models but in actual use you wont get scratches that bad if you take care of the phone.

Just reading the threads and theres a thread stating the JB looks plasticky and looks like a 5C. Felt same when i saw one yesterday so glad im not alone.

Apple online store orders that are delivered to you, are on a completely different system to retail stores. U cannot make changes to an online order while in a store, in fact you cannot even return it in store .

Not sure how the online order picked up in store works..

Once u get an iPhone from anywhere in the U.K., u can just deal with Apple, at least in the first year. And u can add apple care too

But if you buy from them they are easier to deal with and more leniant on you, free repairs etc, even though Apple do give you warranty for the first year what the Genius Bar often do is type out a letter that states the customer is entitled to a replacement device and give that to the customer, we do repairs but it means the phone is sent away for testing and repair for 7-10 days so we tell customers it's much easier to go to apple, and for a lot it is, same day screen replacement etc, but quite often they send customers back with a letter that says the device has been tested by the Genius Bar and has been found to be faulty and that we should offer a replacement, which is really annoying, especially since the customer had to travel 40 miles to Apple and Apple should technically offer a replacement. It doesn't happen often but because I deal with Samsung and Apple returns a lot, I've learned that it's easier to buy directly from them, then they can't pawn you off with a letter, also there staff are normally nicer if you tell them you bought it from them.

ah nice! have you picked up from there? was relatively busy today.

there was also two other people a few pages back who were picking up from there today i believe

No mate I am impatiently waiting for a black + :(

I hate the Genius Bar at MK, stupidly cramped, constantly running late, nowhere to wait without being in someone's way. Staff are great though

Then how come the other ones didn't have a single scratch on them?
Maybe someone smart was seeing how easy it scratches with keys or something.you know what people are like to prove a point. When iPhone 6s came out we had people immediately in our shop trying to bend it

But you can take any apple device to the Genius Bar regardless of where bought from and they will service it. It's people's lack of knowledge that makes them use the like of three, or EE, or carphone warehouse. I would never send an apple device to them or anyone other than apple

What i said was we send our customers to Apple normally unless they are unable to travel, the annoying thing is when Apple don't do anything and send a customer back with a letter telling us to offer an exchange. The customer is obviously pissed they've had to travel 80 miles in total, make an appointment with Apple expecting a replacement device from them and to be pawned off back to us with a letter that confirms its exchangeable.

Example. Lady came to me with a 5c she had apparently bought outright from us with no proof of purchase 3 years ago, faulty lightning connector and Apple had confirmed this, they don't make the plastic lightning connector so sent her to us with a letter saying we are due her a new iPhone 5C a phone that we haven't stocked in over a year, they got discontinued and all sold for like £40. Like thanks Apple we get she was 5 years warranty or something but I'm sure you guys could have sourced an iPhone 5C easier than us. In the end we just gave her a brand new iPhone 5S, still don't even know if she bought the phone from us or of it was like second hand. Apple really screwed us there

Apple store display phones aren't the best to use as example of these things. I rember going to pickup a 6 plus 2 years ago, near enough all the display models were bent...

Yeah sorry I wasn't having a pop mate :)

A lot of people don't realise they can use apple, I do accept though that there is a good chance there's no apple nearby

Yea, I'm a huge apple fan, the best days at work are dealing with just iPhone customers, but I do have to give Samsung a shout on their customer service, if a customer is entitled to a warranty replacement or repair and we send them to Samsung, weve yet to have an issue, with Apple it's normally 3 or 4 a month where Apple sent them back to us saying they couldn't do anything and we should repair it, or with a letter demanding we exchange it. It's kind of bad, especially when the competition are the opposite, they are just like "yea we will test your device, oh it's faulty, our apologies take another" whereas Apple are like yea it's faulty take it back to where you bought it with this letter.

But what is the top level agreement between your employer and Apple regarding warranties compared to the agreement between your employers and Samsung?

Only Plus model I could see in the Newcastle/Gateshead stores was 256GB Rose Gold. Basically the runt of the litter.

Didn't see any JB 7 availability.

If you reserve one of these on that IUP page, can you just go and pay outright?

Not sure whether to settle for a 7 or holdout for a Plus.
I love my Rosegold 7 plus. I saw and held the jet black today and it's a real fingerprint magnet. It was covered in fingerprints it would drive me mad. Nice finish though.
