No movement on same here...
When you say the cash has gone do you have an actual transaction from Apple on your account or a reduced available balance?

So, after painfully having to change my 7 Black 128 delivery from Friday to today, the phone has arrived at work, but I am holding off opening it until I get home and can restore my iTunes backup!
Quick question for those who've already received the phone:
Can I restore my 6s backup on 10.0.1 to the 7 on 10.0.0 without having to update first?
I have limited amount of time before having to leave the house, so would prefer to restore only first, and then update later in the evening when back home...
And good luck to all still waiting for their shiny new toys!!

No just a reduced balance but it takes a few days from that reduced balance to show as a transaction I think ?
Same here..... think they effectively put a hold on the funds until despatched then claim them just before despatch...

I'm torn about what to do at the moment. Maybe some of you guys can advise?
I'm looking to order a 128gb matte black 7+ and a 32gb gold 7+ on the iPhone Upgrade Programme. I've been checking the reserve and pick up stock at 6am since the weekend but no luck so far (I'm just outside Glasgow, Scotland). Would I be better off to just order them online just now (says it will be dispatched within 2-3 weeks) and then return them to the Apple store when they arrive and buy them again through the upgrade scheme? Is this possible or would it not be as simple as them just going onto the store stock immediately. Or should I just hold up and just keep getting up a bit earlier to check each morning?
Hopefully someone can help.

I went sim only with three when I got 6+ outright and their plans monthly were v expensive...
Get very little amount of minutes (120 I think) but I don't use this phone as a phone! All you can use data and some texts I think for £16 per month.

Yeah much more of an upgrade for you! Must admit the JB scratch stories were putting me off too and I don't need anywhere near 128GB. I'm now toying with a 32GB black

I did an online chat with Apple and spoke to someone in the Store in Aberdeen and they advised to order online (dispatching November) but to also keep a check on what stock there is to reserve/pick up at the stores... If someone becomes available at the store I will reserve then cancel my online order, unless of course it has already been dispatched, which seems unlikely to be any time soon for me 🙁

I've got a somewhat similar dilemma.
I deliberated about getting a 7/7+, and eventually decided on a 7. Picked it up on Friday.
It's absolutely cracking, however, I think I should have opted for the Plus. I'm not sure whether to just keep checking the online reservations and hope one pops up locally (I'm Glasgow area too) within the 14 days period that I could return the 7 and swap it out for a Plus, or, should I just order a 7+ online and return the 7 sometime in the next 14 days and go back to using my 6.
Glasgow too.... we seem to always have short supply here despite having two Apple shops!

On a side note CEX Watford have a gold 7plus 128gb for £1010!!!
Also popped into Apple Store and was chatting to an employee who was saying they've changed the jet black already due to marks!
So glad I went normal black it looks great in person.
He also told me to bring my phone in when I get it, they'll refund it and I can apply for the upgrade program
To be honest I'd update your 7 to 10.0.1 first. Did my iCloud back up with 10.0.1 on my Plus and had to restore the 7 Plus as "new", update then try again.

I've had mixed experiences.
Rene Ritchie (the editor at iMore) claimed that the update to 10.0.1 happens automatically as part of the restore process.
In my experience I managed to restore and then update manually (like you want to do) but maybe that was just a glitch in iTunes.
Either way the update only takes 10 minutes tops.
I disagree personally. The 7 is very much a 6SS imo, so essentially the trend is broken.
Equally, can't see them using same form factor 4 years running, especially given the bezels are looking a little laboured even now.
/is getting a 7+, not grinding an axe

I restored from the 10.0.1 backup on iTunes. During the restore (just before doing the apps) it mentioned on the phone screen abt doing the update. I was very surprised as I thought that the phone and the backup had to be the same. Must have been a one off, (or the start of a new procedure). Don't know how long it took thou, as I let it update the apps onto the new phone
We should start seeing more plus stock from the reservations at 6am tomorrow. Apple Stores haven't had new stock delivery over the weekend, just cancelled/left over reservations. The question is how much stock is going to arrive, but it will pick up as we go. The gold plus is probably the easier of the 2 to get hold of though.
You could always put the order in and just try the reservations as well if you want to be more sure though.

Update to 10.0.1 as shouldn't take long, as minor delta update.

I do see what your saying. But just look at their trends the 7 is actually a different design inside and out. albeit a very similar design. i'd put money on the fact that they're going to do 7s. They're just clutching at straws at this point.

Just ordered the the body protector for my 7 Plus also.
Hopefully gets here within a week, which is when my 7 Plus is due to be delivered.
Think the website said pre order for the protectors. Couldn't see a release date. Not holding my breath haha
Im Glasgow too and have the same dilemma ! Had one on order for delivery this week but cancelled it when very chat told me that I would 100% receive my phone on launch day
Im hoping one of the stores gets the + models in tommorow or at least some point this week
Typical Very, probably said that so you'd not cancel with them. I'd have kicked off.

I would have thought that the point is to be able to get a new iPhone every year. That's the main point, not to get an iPhone on launch day. If that were the case then what about people who join the upgrade program in December or May or March?
