Managed to get myself a 7 + 256gb Mat Black today through Reservation programme. Glad i got one but feel it is unfair on those who ordered a few minutes after they went on pre order sale and still waiting. Same for those waiting through their respective carriers. I had to do the pre credit checks prior to placing the order and thought it would mean that the time this took I would have lost the phone but I did not. Only had to show my ID and checked in with Apple Wallet. Had a reservation for 6.15-6.30 but for reasons outside of my control only got there literally at 7.55. Interesting enough I was worried about what would happen if I couldn't get there by close of play. My order said though that I had until 12th October to pick it up. Ordering isa bit of a mess up this year with all the different options to pay and it not clear at all when in a rush like I was. Was in and out within 5 minutes once collected and restored from backup in 10 minutes.

A loan is different to a phone contract. I'd easily be able to get a pay monthly contract. It's just a standard loan, which is why IUP is, that I can't have. It's all to do with responsible lending on Barclays part. I have no one to blame. In fact, they're probably protecting me from money troubles.

I just wish this information had been clear before I even went into this. They should have outlined minimums for IUP.

It's annoying Barclays have turned me down for finance when I've tried to buy Apple stuff in the past despite working full time with a decent salary, good credit score and plenty of history of paying back loans and credit cards. In the end was able to buy it interest free from Very instead who were more than happy to give me loads and loads of credit.

So I'm not sure if Barclays will accept me for IUP if I ever get to reserve the phone I want...

It's a mystery. The Apple Store guy said another guy earlier today had been rejected too just because his job was a bit sporadic and unusual. He was an 'investigator' or something and had a decent income.

I guess it depends on who Barclays feel they want to do business with and if you don't fit their requirements they'll reject you.

Same happened last year with the 6S.

Loads of devices around Europe just went live for in store pick up.

I'm convinced we will see the same around the UK at 10pm...

Anyone looking to purchase outright and pick up in store tomorrow I would advise you to hang about

The "Select" button keeps appearing for the Bentalls store, I've got 2 matt blacks in my cart for pickup from bentalls, but both have the yellow "this item is unavailable" banner on the cart.

Maybe it's a glitch as they add stock in?

 I'm holding on to my Jet Black 7+ .... patience is not my game but I feel I am doing quite well this year!
However should never have near the "Roll call 4-10 October thread" the guys in the US are getting jet blacks left right and centre and early delivery! :(

Good morning guys!! :) I woke up at 6:00am feeling so excited about my new phone coming today. It sucks that I'm at work till 6:15pm so I won't be able to open it as soon as it arrives. I have a feeling my days going to d-r-a-g as I will be constantly thinking about my delivery. Haha!! Luckily I know I won't miss the delivery as my dads at home. I will post a picture of my new phone tonight.

UPDATE, AGAIN (Haha) Hey guys! I finished work at 6:15pm and I got home to my new Black iPhone 7 Plus. Ive just finished setting everything up and I'm loving it. It's a big difference from my iPhone 6 Plus.

Manage to pick up my 6S+ 64GB from Apple store earlier and took it to carphone warehouse.

Got £390 for it and the guy literally turned it on and scrolled around then finalised the sale.

Mazuma are offering similar and so are others if not less but saves the hassle of having to send it off then wait a response from recycling site. Carphone just put the money as a refund onto my card so as good as a bank transfer.

Initially the guy said that he didnt need box and accessories but they were all brand new and then he said his screen says he needs all acessories probably for himself!! Damn i could have done with the charger cable and plug as a spare.

Although the phone was put in a white envelope and scanned so box wasnt needed

Earpods are obsolete now for the 7 :p

I've just performed a free credit check and my credit score is basically untouched. This probably works against me too. It's 'excellent'

Have you checked all three agencies? Noddle, Experian and ClearScore?

Hate to come across as an a55 but I use the forums at Money Saving Expert and have seen people posting they have missed payments, defaults etc and their "score" is excellent too.

Have you any form of credit whatsoever? Student credit card?

We did the credit check anyway but that was more my doing. He said the minute I asked about being a student that there was little chance it would go through. But I did it anyway and it failed saying I didn't meet the minimum requirements. No idea what that's done to my credit score.

I'm also a student uni, but I work (sainsburys). First year too. Am I likely to be rejected on the premise of being a student? So annoyed hearing this rn

Well I will praise Mazuma.

Sent my phone off yesterday at 3:30pm. Was received by them today at 08:00am and by 5:00pm £390 was in my account.

Was only a small mark on the bottom left hand corner where I'd dropped it once but otherwise fine AND they gave me what they quoted me.

Nope. No kind of credit whatsoever.

Picked up my iPhone 7 plus earlier today. Just been trying to restore it for about 2 hours now but all the apps downloading seem to be stuck at the same stage... Any suggestions?

It seems to depend on what your yearly income is and if it's considered to be enough by Barclays. The Apple Store guy said you had to have a minimum of 16 hours a week work but I can't see how that's relevant. You should try it anyway but expect to be rejected.

Try deleting it and reinstalling it from the app store if that doesn't work try sideloading it from your computer

People who are students, have little or no credit history and no regular income are likely to be disappointed. Your looking for ~£800 of credit.. Most banks would not touch you.. Apple/Barclay's are no different

Is it possible to check? Might just have to tell my dad to do it for me and send him the money
My income is like 400 pounds a month; 12 hours a week but can i tell them 16 hours cos sometimes i do 4 hours extra so i get the IUP

I work 12 hours a week, can I say 16 or will they check or something?

No way of checking. Your credit score is just that, a indication of your credit worthiness. Apple/barclays will use that as one of a number of markers to make a decision on lending. No way of knowing unless you apply
