Is it possible to check? Might just have to tell my dad to do it for me and send him the money
My income is like 400 pounds a month; 12 hours a week but can i tell them 16 hours cos sometimes i do 4 hours extra so i get the IUP

I work 12 hours a week, can I say 16 or will they check or something?

They don't ask for your work hours anywhere in the form which is why I don't know why it's relevant. But he definitely said there was a minimum. It's possible they find it out from your tax forms? I'm confused by this too.

I was thinking about getting one of my parents to sign up on my behalf but I really don't need this phone enough to mess with all that.

Can I pay for an instore pickup but switch onto AUP or apple payments when I go to collect? (i.e. getting a refund in the process?)

Loads of devices around Europe just went live for in store pick up.

I'm convinced we will see the same around the UK at 10pm...

Anyone looking to purchase outright and pick up in store tomorrow I would advise you to hang about

Spot on.

2x 7+ 128GB bagged.

That's a pretty sensible decision. It's very easy to jump onto the bandwagon for a phone but if you did get one in your name and you did have an issue and missed a payment or two it would severely hamper your future credit needs. You might struggle getting a car loan, credit cards and mortgages in the future.

It's good in a sense apple are being firm about who they lend to and not being irrisponsible.

It might not be the news people want to hear but it's just a phone

Which is why I won't be getting a phone. I do not have the money. That's just the reality of the situation. IUP was the only way I was getting one.

Oh well, my 6 Plus is fine and next years is gonna be the big one. I'll have to save up for it or take out a 2 year contract with a network, something I'm guaranteed to be accepted for cause they're somehow totally different kinds of credit checks. Or at least more tolerant.

It's a mystery. The Apple Store guy said another guy earlier today had been rejected too just because his job was a bit sporadic and unusual. He was an 'investigator' or something and had a decent income.

I guess it depends on who Barclays feel they want to do business with and if you don't fit their requirements they'll reject you.

Weirdly rejected too. I became slightly concerned over my credit score but all seems ok on the Clearscore app. A friend of friend was in the Apple Store late on launch day and the Specialist said he was the first person she had served that was accepted!

Long time lurker, first time poster...

Huge thank you to the chap who predicted the rush at 10pm, just managed to bag myself a black 32gb plus from Liverpool One pickup tomorrow!

Welcome to the forum and I'm glad I was able to help you out!

Try deleting it and reinstalling it from the app store if that doesn't work try sideloading it from your computer

Apps are cancelled and deleted go into App Store have signed out and switched device on and off but yet still shows downloading progress. Looks like I'm gonna have to start again.

Thank you guys for the tip, cancelled my mid October delivery, reserved one for pickup tomorrow, 256GB black 7+, most stores right now have this configuration in stock, it is ridiculous that if I hadn't done that I would have to wait until the 12th-18th of October, it's not fair that apple are not honouring pre orderers

Wonderful nearest 128Gb 7+ Black is 160 miles away and no JB anywhere. If the stock is made available at 10pm for purchase for pickup how is anyone going to reserve anything at 6am for IUP???

This isn't Apple's doing. They've employed Barclays to provide their loan services and Experian are doing the checks. It's just the new laws about responsible lending. Banks can get into a lot of trouble for giving out loans to people who clearly can't afford it.

Like you say, it's for my protection as much as I might not like it.
