After UPS had a failed attempt at delivering the iPhone (Which I didn't know was out for delivery, as the tracking hadn't been updated - but I did make a call to the UPS depot who indeed informed me it was and in fact the driver was at my door at the time of my enquiry sadly no one was home!!!), I contacted the depot to see if the driver would be willing to make a second attempt that day.....he wasn't! So I asked if I could collect the phone from the depot. UPS said I could and the driver would be back around 5.45 and would leave the package for me to collect. I arrived on time, but sadly the driver was still out, I eventually waited until 7pm and now the phone is in my hands.
One problem though! I can't open it! I spoke to Apple online support regarding refunding the phone and putting it on the IUP. The Apple Advisor said that the only way i could do this is to get a refund on my phone and make a reservation online for a new iPhone 7 plus JB on the IUP. Apparently they have been advised not to tell customers that they can just take the phone in store and exchange the same phone onto IUP. Presumably because they are so busy processing IUP applicants. Anyway after a bit of to and fro, the Advisor relented and said that I could do this but it would be on the discretion of the store! But in any case she advised me against opening the phone.
So here I am, with my new iPhone, still wrapped up and unusable!
SUCKS!
