Going to send back my black plus to JL tomorrow. I would only consider swapping at an applestore if they would replace it with a brand new iPhone sealed in a retail box as this phone is only 2 days old. Does anyone know if they can do that? Tried to phone the store earlier but couldn't get through.

What's wrong with the genius replacements? They're brand new..
 
Sorry guys, but did anyone put up review / photos of the Peel case for their phone?

Stuck between Peel / Caudabe Veil XT and the official Apple Midnight Blue silicone case.
 
After UPS had a failed attempt at delivering the iPhone (Which I didn't know was out for delivery, as the tracking hadn't been updated - but I did make a call to the UPS depot who indeed informed me it was and in fact the driver was at my door at the time of my enquiry sadly no one was home!!!), I contacted the depot to see if the driver would be willing to make a second attempt that day.....he wasn't! So I asked if I could collect the phone from the depot. UPS said I could and the driver would be back around 5.45 and would leave the package for me to collect. I arrived on time, but sadly the driver was still out, I eventually waited until 7pm and now the phone is in my hands.

One problem though! I can't open it! I spoke to Apple online support regarding refunding the phone and putting it on the IUP. The Apple Advisor said that the only way i could do this is to get a refund on my phone and make a reservation online for a new iPhone 7 plus JB on the IUP. Apparently they have been advised not to tell customers that they can just take the phone in store and exchange the same phone onto IUP. Presumably because they are so busy processing IUP applicants. Anyway after a bit of to and fro, the Advisor relented and said that I could do this but it would be on the discretion of the store! But in any case she advised me against opening the phone.

So here I am, with my new iPhone, still wrapped up and unusable!

SUCKS!

Just had a text from Apple finally with a tracking number for UPS and definitely being delivered tomorrow.

Liam I'm assuming yours will be similar
 
Mine 7+ JB 256 ordered at 08:21 is still processing too, hope 256's will start moving soon as well..

I strangely imagined that the 256 would be ready at least before the 128!! The old trick of the mor expensive to the consumer and cheap to increase at manufacture trick... so a little confused... order confirm for me was 8.19 as a consequence of ordering two in one bundle albeit with ship separately if poss ticked

I've had no text message from apple other than my dispatch notification for my Apple Watch
That will be delivered tomorrow but I've not got anything from apple regarding my iPhone,
I'm wondering if we will get phone tomorrow after all ?
It's gone from hand over to final carrier back to in transit to customer on schedule
 
People who received their Jet Black Pluses today - please could you take a moment to see whether your device shows signs of this machining irregularity? See thread below.

So far every Jet Black Plus has it, however the ones arriving today are from the latest batch (Week 39) and appear not to have it. It would be great to get a larger sample to try to reach a conclusion.

That's so different to what I was told in the Apple Store tonight-I returned my matte black and showed off my Jet Black Plus ;)

They were pushing the upgrade program and said I had 2 weeks to decide, the phone would be refunded to a gift card then immediately transferred to the scheme.

hi there
as some of you know i got 3 jet blacks 128gb which were originally scheduled between the dates 18-31st OCT - yesterday they all went preparing for shipment - TODAY one of the orders showed as despatched with a real UPS tracking number - im curious how the despatch is going for the other 18-31st OCT slot customers ;0 i wonder if these will all be by UPS or will some be given to DHL

You can open it. I had mine in a case, fully up and running. All they need to see is the box so they can scan it. Once they refund it, they have 3 hours to set you up otherwise, it is returned to returned stock and no longer available for sale.

Is this normal?
