bet they wont have black though, or very very limited stock probably kept for regent street / covent garden stores. Unless stock starts flooding in next week.

Makes me wonder how they are planning on fulfilling all the other countries the week after our first wave!
Regent Street's still closed. Covent Garden's going to be insane.

I'm sort of wanting to go down this route but with the Upgrade Program and then getting a SIM only deal, only reason for the Upgrade Program and not a pre-order is that I can't afford to buy the phone outright unfortunatley!

If you pre-order through Apple, you don't necessarily have to pay for the phone up front! They have a PayPal Credit Agreement option whereby you select a term, in which to pay back the cost of the phone. This is what I did, with a no up front cost, I opted for a 24 months repayment plan @ £30.62 a month. Add to that my SIM only £20 a month from EE and thats a total of £50.62 a month with NO up front cost (and this is actually slightly cheaper than what I have been paying for my iPhone 6 with O2 these past 2 years).

You can select from various different payment terms with PayPal, so whatever suits your needs. This is how I also bought my Apple Watch 6 months ago (wasn't interested in Apple Watch 2).

Wow so no overnight queues then?

A word of optimism for people with late delivery dates (like me!)...

These days Apple are very conservative with their delivery dates. I remember the days when things would always arrive at the end of the window, but now things have changed.

When the Apple Watch came out, I had one on order with a 4-6 week wait time. It came on launch day!

When the 12" MacBooks came out, they arrived before the delivery window.

When the Space Black Milanese Loop was added to the range, it was shipping in "5-8 business days". It shipped the next day.

And there are no walk-ins this time round. Surplus stock won't be going to stores. It will go to fulfilling orders sooner.

There is hope!!!

Yes! The Apple Watch was a great example of Apple under promising and over delivering... I had a friend who had the 4-6 week delivery time and it also arrived on launch day without warning! It was just suddenly dispatched! :)

Hey guys, not a regular around here - normaly just jump in for the preorder's, last one was AW so its been a while!

Call it unlucky but I happened to be on a delayed flight when preorders opened... Just my luck :( and now I'm unsure what to do?

I'm buying myself out of my current contract with O2 for £400, and my phone has been sold for £400 (perfect so far!), however I don't know where to get my phone from? O2 are out of the question as their deals are simply awful! So, My options are...

1) Apple Upgrade Program, my preferred option, however the 7+ Black 32GB isn't available for a reservation, so do i forget this option and move on, or do I wait till 6am 17 Sept? (What are the chances of me getting one by doing this?)

2) BT Mobile, I have their broadband so get a £5 discount per month and they're deals are actually very, very good, with shipment in 1-2 weeks still? However, I'm tied into a 24 month contract, grrr!

3) Three, who again have good deals and good shipment times!

So what shall I do? Hang on in there for the Upgrade program, or call it a day and preorder one with a new carrier? Sorry for a huge post, I just know how friendly and helpful everyone is in these forums! I look forward to the remainder of the preorder limbo! :D

I'm in a similar boat but for dissimilar reasons.

I logged on at 8.01 and didn't get in to either apple.com or the app until about 8.10, by the time I got to the reservations page every single store in the North of England had no reservations for the 7+ in either black variant and I had to go to work.

The mistake I made was using my iphone and not using my mac. I was woo-ed by all these people telling me how easy it was to buy on the mac.

So now there is no pre-order stock for collection at apple stores. I have been into store at Manchester today and they say order to collect - but there is no stock (despite there being stock for delivery).

I'm a bit less inclined these days to panic buy. In years gone by I have done and regretted it. I also think for the first time Apple are going to change the product significantly after 12 months.

So, havinga arrived at work I sat down and did some s

So, having a arrived at work I sat down and did some sums. I coyuld have at that time picked up a phone on O2 or 3 or EE or voda for delivery at or around launch or used paypal credit.

Having sat down and worked out the cost of using either apple payments or the upgrade programme though it simply isn't worth it. Based on a 7+ 128gb (ad taking a £9 a month 3 sim deal for an unlocked phone) worked out for the cost over the first 12 months on similar plans

Apple payments £619
Upgrade Programme £690
o2 £779
Voda £739
Apple.com (paypal credit) £580

The networks are just too pricey. Paypal credit looks great but its £120 for credit and its simply not necessary. Would I pay £120 top have a phone a few weeks early? Moreover, at 12 months the amount outstanding is £472, which is more than the resale value of the phone. meaning an early upgrade is unlikely.

At the minute therefore I have decided to go against all instinct and wait out the next available appointment in store. My plan is to buy the phone using apple payments (no apple care needed) and at 12 months buy out my contract with Barclays Finance using the money that I'd get from selling the phone (I work that out as £308.00, which is substantially less than what I'd get for re-sale).

The only way I'd consider the upgrade programme is if apple told me I would be penalised or it would be difficult to pay off the loan agreement early.

Typing this has been cathartic.

Extremely doubtful though. Carriers are not in a position to force Apple to do this, and for Apple it makes no sense to lock your phones to one network.

The only unlocked iPhones are sold by Apple. If you buy an iPhone from the likes of carphone warehouse, very etc it will lock to the first sim card. I thought everyone knew this.

[EDIT]
From carphone warehouses website:

"iPhone will lock itself to the network of the first SIM card that is used in the phone. Subsequently attempting to use it on any other network, for example by replacing the SIM card, may mean it becomes permanently unusable. SIM free iPhones can only be used with a UK-network SIM card, and will not accept foreign SIM cards."

Last year I ordered an ip 6s+ 128gb from Three with £59/month. I love the jet black color this year but don't know what I should do cos I still have 1 year contract left. shoud I sell my 6s+ and go getting 7+ from apple:(

I preordered a 7 'mini' 128gb black on the app this morning. Painless. Available for pick up 16th. I will be coming from my 6 Plus 64gb.

Fingers crossed I will be able to get on with the smaller screen size. Hoping it will be easier to grip and not drop, than the 6 plus without a case. Also hope the 7's battery is sufficient enough.

Plus, I'll be able to bend to put my shoes on with the phone in my jeans pocket!

The fact that we're getting b*tf***ed with pricing by Apple has leant me towards the 7, and away from the plus, even though I've long wanted optical zoom on an iPhone camera.

Do you know that to be true, or are you speculating? Others say not eg: John Lewis. People take things they read online to be Gospel, guessing doesn't help anyone.

Did anyone actually go down to the Apple Store in London then?!

I went to Apple Store in Brent Cross yesterday. Nothing. No signs at all of iPhone 7. Bloke said they wouldn't have any on display before next week.

Anyone else having issues with Vodafone and credit checks today? Nothing seems to be working.
Its the same every year with Vodafone. Their website and backend systems are truly awful and seemingly held together by a fine piece of thread.
Once again this year, first this morning they were taking phone orders via the "contingency system" (aka noting orders on a piece of paper which gets manually inputted into the provisioning system later tonight - this explains why phone orders with Vodafone will not yet have a confirmation email or order number because the order doesn't yet exist on anything other than a bit of paper).
I couldn't even order my upgrades online because their whole 'my account' area has been largely broken since the billing system switch fiasco.

I've also got an order with Apple though, but like most others with the Plus I'm in the 6-8 days / 27-29th September group, despite ordering moments after the store when live.

I got off the train this morning at around 8:30 (daily commute) and was spamming Safari on my iPhone 6 like mad!

At first, the only iPhone which would show up was the Jet Black, which I was adamant I did not want, but low and behold, a few spams later, up came the Black iPhone 7 32gb, placed my order, got an email confirm and all done and dusted, before I'd even set foot in the office this morning!!!

Have I missed that disclaimer on Very (very possible)?
