I have looked on Very and can not see any disclaimer about the phone locking. would be interesting to do a live chat with them and ask, however I am busy making up for time I lost trying to pre order this morning. Will try and remember to ask them later unless someone else jumps on and asks them/

So are we all using this thread to post our order status? ;)

EDIT: Which I realize I posted the wrong screenshot. Still Processing!

Mine says exactly the same-except mine is a 128Gb.

Now, 6 days from my order (8.08am this morning) would be… Next Friday.

Thankfully I wont be going into any Apple store ; reservation wasn't available at Brent Cross this morning hence pre-ordered 7+ black 128GB for 27th-29th delivery . Judging from the posts so far stocks are dwindling by the minute for the plus black variants

I agree about conservative delivery times. Mine is 27-29 Sep, wouldn't be that surprised if it comes a couple of days early, has happened in the past.

I'm no great rush frankly, I'll be very happy when it arrives but the days of absolutely slavering over iPhones and iPads by the letter box are gone for me since it started plateauing and became more incremental.

weirdly I feel the same mate.

When it looked like I wouldn't get a pre order I was peed off but nowhere near as much as I thought I would be. Perhaps its a combo of getting older / cost / pretty stale hardware that seems to lack the pizazz it used to?

still pre ordered though :D

I believe the 'price hike' is due to the strength of the pound actually. Thank the people who voted to 'leave' Europe. It's a similar story across Europe and 9to5mac had a story about this.
That is just an excuse. The pound has dropped by no more than 15% MAXIMUM, actually much less on rates at today's level. Sorry, but this is patent Apple greed.

Managed to f**k up my preorder of 128gb JB 7plus via the App (didn't realise apple pay wouldn't automatically use my preferred card, still had my old card details which had expired), gave up on that and ordered on contract via 3 online only to realise that I'd ordered a 7 rather than a 7 plus.

So went to Vodafone site and being flustered and half on a business call at the same time did exactly the same thing again! So have two orders to cancel and two hard credit checks on my record for no good reason.

Around 11:30 thought I'd give EE (my current provider) a call and try for an upgrade as their site was being sketchy. After 40 mins got through to someone who talked me through my upgrade at their insane price (which is why they were my last option) and feeling a bit desperate went for it. Guy I spoke to swears I'll get it on Launch day, I asked him at least 3 times and he said I would, but my confirmation mail has no delivery specified.

Will wait and see.

Still not sure if my Very order is confirmed or not. Bought a 128G black Plus at noon, got a message telling me that the credit team needed to check on something (bit odd since I was paying on a credit card with loads of credit). Missed a call from them at lunchtime, so called this afternoon and was told "it's definitely ordered"; when I asked about whether I would receive a confirmation email, I was told "yes, probably" which doesn't really inspire confidence! (I have checked my Junk folder)

Current status shows:
Order being processed
Delivery by Friday 16 September

But a bit concerned in the absence of an email. I have one ordered from Apple on 27-29 Sept so I don't have too long to wait if Very have messed up. But given the doubts about locking, wondering whether to stick with Apple... will wait a few days and see what transpires.

Certainly aint. We have to accept that apple has to adjust prices to account for economical changes.

Wrong! Apple are also jacking up prices to account for falling unit sales!

They know 7 won't sell nearly as well as the 6 and 6s - so they increase prices to compensate!

OK, you are entitled to your opinion; I'm merely arguing the case that a currency's strength – or weakness – against the dollar could be affecting it.

Surely this doesn't make sense? Increasing the price could negate attraction and put off consumers.

Anyone else upgrading with Vodafone?

Got an email confirmation stating all done. Just got a txt stating "We've received your upgrade request" and then another saying "Just to confirm - we're about to transfer this number onto your new sim".

Hopefully they don't cut off my old sim card I'm currently using until I have my new one.

Well, I don't recall wrong last year a 6S Plus 16GB was 619. If you increase the price by 15% you get 712. Then they played the double-memory card and there you go.

i've just had my estimated delivery dates move from 27 - 29 Sep forward to 20 - 22 Sep.
I'm hopeful that it will eventually say delivery by next Friday :D

There has indeed been a drop in the value of the pound. However, even a quick look at the percentage fluctuation proves my point. Sorry. :)

I had something similar with VERY. I was told it was because i was a new customer/account and the item was a high value, i phoned and they sorted it out. Fingers crossed they stick their delivery estimates (i am strangely hopeful).

I fear I might actually end up with two come friday; My Apple order (which now says processing- esti 6-8 days) and the VERY order.

I called up and the chap was friendly and said they were the main network supplier and had plenty in stock, so could ship for launch day fairly easily. Have also been told on Twitter:

Same - the staff at my store were beating the drum of being the biggest and best carrier with a great relationship with Apple (citing Apple Music, how their CEO was at the keynote, etc.) and that they would DEFINITELY receive all their pre orders on launch day, and told me to get there just before 8AM.

The thing is, with that message being so consistent across store staff, phone staff, and Twitter staff, it's clearly an official message from a senior level.

And that means it's probably true... :D

Well, as someone else pointed out, the hikes regarding the phones seem to reflect ~15% increases (the weakest the pound has been against the dollar). The cases, I can't remember the prices last year so they may have added some more on, perhaps to round it up to a 5 or 0 (e.g. £X5 or £X0).

Definitely a combo of that for me. I'll be grinning like a Cheshire Cat when the door goes and I unwrap it in all its splendour, but the experience absolutely pales to certain other Apple experiences.

3G was my first iPhone, it blew my mind coming from a HTC TyTyn with Windows CE. 3G was my first and, looking back, worst iPhone. Put iOS 4(?) on it a couple days prior to my launch iPhone 4 being delivered and, egads, absolutely slaughtered performance lol.

iPad 1 came a day before launch on the Thursday, cue some frankly idiotic pictures on FaceBook grinning like an idiot with it in my hand.

The iPhone 4 arrived and that, for me, was the single best upgrade I've had phone wise. Gorgeous design, gorgeous screen, mobile browsing went from doable to enjoyable and the first phone I had that took reasonably decent photos.

Diminishing returns since. Not a slam on Apple.

Throw in my late '13 15" rMBP in there somewhere too, I was ecstatic when that arrived, still going strong and a massive jump over all the laptops I had prior.

EE are mad, their tariffs are bonkers. Even for existing customers. Couldn't get a good deal even going through to cancellations.
