Anyone seeing preparing for dispatch yet? I see that several others on the other thread are seeing "preparing for shipment", mines still processing :O

I ordered the 256GB 7 in Jet Black, ordered & confirmed @ 8.06am direct from apple,

dispatch: 1-2 weeks, arriving between 26 Sep - 3 Oct

did anyone manage to get a Jet Black confirmed for September 16th?

I got my order in at 8.08am once I could get into the app, iPhone 7, 128GB, Jet Black... got the same dispatch time - 1-2 weeks, arriving 26 Sep - 3 Oct.

Just had a re-read of my 'processing' email from Apple date at 08:03 this morning and although I have 27th-3rd it also says dispatches in 1-2 weeks which means 16th-23rd so might be better than we think...

So are we all using this thread to post our order status? ;)

EDIT: Which I realize I posted the wrong screenshot. Still Processing!

I have a 9am reserve slot for the iPhone upgrade programme. Currently reserved 32gb 7plus gold. Reckon I could ask them if they had any in black or higher size?

A word of optimism for people with late delivery dates (like me!)...

These days Apple are very conservative with their delivery dates. I remember the days when things would always arrive at the end of the window, but now things have changed.

When the Apple Watch came out, I had one on order with a 4-6 week wait time. It came on launch day!

When the 12" MacBooks came out, they arrived before the delivery window.

When the Space Black Milanese Loop was added to the range, it was shipping in "5-8 business days". It shipped the next day.

And there are no walk-ins this time round. Surplus stock won't be going to stores. It will go to fulfilling orders sooner.

There is hope!!!
Not quite the same thing but my girlfriend had to get the Rose Gold Beats Solo2 Wireless (student offer) on back-order. A few weeks, they said. Ordered on the 3rd, it estimated delivery for the 13th - 20th.

They arrived on the 5th. Lol.

I will be optimistic with you, but I've gone 2 years without a new iPhone so another 3 weeks does not bother me too much :D

The only unlocked iPhones are sold by Apple. If you buy an iPhone from the likes of carphone warehouse, very etc it will lock to the first sim card. I thought everyone knew this.

[EDIT]
From carphone warehouses website:

"iPhone will lock itself to the network of the first SIM card that is used in the phone. Subsequently attempting to use it on any other network, for example by replacing the SIM card, may mean it becomes permanently unusable. SIM free iPhones can only be used with a UK-network SIM card, and will not accept foreign SIM cards."

So what is the deal with very phones though? CPW is selling contracts for Networks. Very is only selling the phone, so should be 100% unlocked...?!

Do you know that to be true, or are you speculating? Others say not eg: John Lewis. People take things they read online to be Gospel, guessing doesn't help anyone.

Yes it used to be the case that you could only get proper unlocked iPhones direct from Apple but that is no longer true. John Lewis ones definitely are not locked and fairly sure Very ones aren't locked either.

I believe the 'price hike' is due to the strength of the pound actually. Thank the people who voted to 'leave' Europe. It's a similar story across Europe and 9to5mac had a story about this.
Same here in Australia. Was $1079 for the mid level iPhone 6 in 2014, but since then our economy has hit the fan and we are no longer $/$ with the US (now 65c to the $). Hence, the 7 is costing me $1229!

It sucks, but people are misdirecting their anger at Apple (I'm not implying you are!).

I agree about conservative delivery times. Mine is 27-29 Sep, wouldn't be that surprised if it comes a couple of days early, has happened in the past.

I'm no great rush frankly, I'll be very happy when it arrives but the days of absolutely slavering over iPhones and iPads by the letter box are gone for me since it started plateauing and became more incremental.
