Some USA people are getting Preparing for Shipment already.
I think in past launches they always get it first due to getting phones directly from China(?). Ours will be dispatched already from the uk, so probably some movement will only happen Wednesday/Thursday...

There has indeed been a drop in the value of the pound. However, even a quick look at the percentage fluctuation proves my point. Sorry. :)

The pound is worth 86% of what is was worth a year ago compared to the US Dollar. The iPhone 6S+ 64Gb cost £699 a year ago. If you take into account pound is now worth only 86% that comes to £813, and the equivalent model the 7+ 128Gb costs £819.

Same - the staff at my store were beating the drum of being the biggest and best carrier with a great relationship with Apple (citing Apple Music, how their CEO was at the keynote, etc.) and that they would DEFINITELY receive all their pre orders on launch day, and told me to get there just before 8AM.

The thing is, with that message being so consistent across store staff, phone staff, and Twitter staff, it's clearly an official message from a senior level.

And that means it's probably true... :D

I'm hoping so. There doesn't seem to be any doubt from anyone they can fill the orders.

We need to ask Francis what is going on here! :D

Still no conformation email from Very either, so i decided stuff this and hit the cancel button - 'sorry this item cannot be cancelled you will have to reject the item when being delivered by the courier' sorry What!? Ridiculous set-up

It was the same with the watches. The US orders went to preparing for shipping a few days before we did.

EE are mad, their tariffs are bonkers. Even for existing customers. Couldn't get a good deal even going through to cancellations.

Well I'll admit I'm paying a lot, but I have:

£99 up front
£65 p/month

Which gives me unlimited calls and texts, 25GB data, free BT sports and 6 months Apple Music. All in the EU too.

Plus it's the new upgrade tariff so I can upgrade in 12 months with no fees (just hand the phone in like you do with the Apple upgrade programme).

So in total it's costing me £879 over the year. Which I'm actually fine with, considering I can get the 7S when it comes out! And it's looking like I'll get this on launch day too.

(I got the jet black 7+ 128GB)

Was furiously closing and opening the apple store app this morning, it finally went live for me at 8.05am and I had my confirmation email by 8.07.

Silver 128GB Plus, with Midnight Blue Leather Case. Due for delivery on the 16th!

My first White fronted iPhone, coming from a Slate 5 and Space Grey 6 Plus.

Also the first time I've bought outright, will be switching to sim only. I'm glad this gamble paid off after looking at the vodafone contracts. For the same data/minutes/messages bundle, I'm going to be saving myself £415 over the 2 years.

Only thing I forgot to do was add Applecare in all the excitement this morning, so that will require a trip to the apple store next saturday!

Now the EE line seems to have changed to "we'll deliver ASAP". Sigh.

Not bad I suppose, they didn't mention that one to me, Is that on the Max or Complete tariff? That's the same model I was after.

Well, as someone else pointed out, the hikes regarding the phones seem to reflect ~15% increases (the weakest the pound has been against the dollar). The cases, I can't remember the prices last year so they may have added some more on, perhaps to round it up to a 5 or 0 (e.g. £X5 or £X0).
The silicone case for the 6 and 7 has gone up from £25 to £35. That's 40%!!!

I love Apple products as much as anyone round here and I have spent fortunes over the years but I am not a sucker and I refuse to be an Apple apologist. Where there is valid criticism, it should be made.

Attributing a 40% price increase to currency fluctuations is just ridiculous.

I think you can add it after you receive the phone. Last year when my Apple watch arrived on launch day I called up and bought Apple Care over the phone. It may be different with the iPhone though.

Valid argument and point; sorry, I wasn't looking for an argument by the way! :)

It's the max tariff. The upgrade is a new one I think.

You also will get £20 off the handset if you're upgrading (it's credited back to your account) so I'm actually only paying £859 over the year.

And then saving £60 that I would normally be paying for Apple Music. I can't say I'm saving on BT Sport as I wouldn't pay normally.

So that's £799 really.

I just chose EE's SIM only deal for £20 a month, with 8gb and unlimited calls & texts. Over the past 2 years, I have never even reached 1gb of data in any given month with O2 (iPhone 6 2 year contract), so 8gb is more than enough. Couple this with a PayPal Credit Agreement for £30 a month over 24 months to pay off the phone - I'm happy with my total monthly cost of £50, with no up front fee due.

Delivery isn't until 26th-28th Sept but thats only a few weeks so not really bothered seeing that I've waited 2 years to upgrade!

You can do it over the phone.
