I'm one of those who very rarely use the headphone jack. I rather have a better louder speaker than a headjack any day.

Here we go again. Blass hasn't leaked or predicted anything. If his reports are to be believed at all, it is because he is reporting something leaked to him by someone with the actual knowledge, and not because he is gazing into his magic crystal ball. So why not just say that?

Isn't that how all leaks work?

Think I'll give this one a miss and see if the rumoured 'iPhone 8' turns out to be real next year. That and I cannot afford a new iPhone right now having just quit my job to become a full time student. So at least now I have a year to save. :(

I've even considered switching to Android for a bit but the logistics of it would be a nightmare with all of my data on Apple's servers. Plus why would I switch to a lesser experience? I guess I'm just a bit bored of my 6 Plus after 2 years.

It seems to me like there's a packed autumn launch this year. If the new iPhone (whatever it's called) is likely to launch week c/o 5th September and the MacBook launch is still rumored for "fall" as well there's a lot to stuff in.

Is there time for a snap Mac event prior to September to avoid taking too much time away from iPhone launch? We're still awaiting new Macbook Pros, Mac Pros, iMacs, Mac Minis, Thunderbolt (or USB-C) displays, Airports and Time Capsules. There's still a month and a bit to go before the Back to School promotion ends too.

iPads might wait until October or even March next year and with watchOS3 I think the likelihood of an Apple Watch 2 coming this year is between slim and none.

Interesting to watch Macrumors become the go-to place for Apple haters and doomsayers.

Meanwhile the rest of the community will just continue to buy Apple's products and enjoy them, completely oblivious to us dying breed of nerds who care more about specs and Skylake rather than the experience offered by the product and its ecosystem.

Apple's whole has always been greater than the sum of it's parts.
Except that parts are coming apart at the seams.

Someone needs to call them out for it.

Wont pick up one, but hopefully it comes in space black..so that we can get that colour in the SE 2 and iPad.

at the moment im gonna wait for my 6 to completely die. It still has 5 months of warranty left. Until, it completely buggers off, i probably wont upgrade.

Okay...so apple is making inaccessible to 3.5 jack...okay...no problem. I won't buy it...or i'll wait for next model.
i can see that people would use bluetooth...and at times i would use it like working out or something like that.
I like 3.5 because I have to recharge on bluetooth earphones.

Why wait til the next model? If the new iPhone has no 3.5mm jack, neither will the iPhone after that.

Apple's modus operandi. As I opined in another thread, we're seeing a deliberate plan by Apple to degrade the Mac until their iOS range is more appealing as the primary computing platform.
The plan begins to unravel when you consider that Apple is not the only personal computer provider. I would rather use Linux (or Windows) as my main OS than iOS on an iPad. If Apple continues to refuse selling me a Mac that isn't obscenely out of date or underpowered for my needs, what choice do I have but to leave Apple behind?

Nothing like the usual haters to brighten the mood :/

I'm personally excited for the next iPhone, regardless of whether I buy it or not.
The same people hating are the same people likely to preorder the next iPhone lol. I'm using an iPhone 6 Plus and it's coming up on it's 2 year anniversary. I really want to upgrade to the next iPhone 7 Plus but will admit I'm a little reluctant because there will be no major revision like there normally is after 2 years of the same iPhone. My job however is social media so I use my iPhone A LOT. I will likely upgrade anyway and then re upgrade again at the iPhone 8 Plus.

The A-10 processor will be enough reason for me to upgrade from a 6s.
Why? A9 is more than fast enough so what will A10 give you that you don't have now?

I think upgrading from 6S to 7 (if all the rumours are correct) is not very sensible choice. Why you ask? Because there isn't much upgrade to begin with. Same as going from 6 to 6S - very little and waste of money.

So, what is the magical A10 give YOU that you will buy it regardless what the rest is? Or are you just chasing specs and numbers?

I said as much in another thread. For those who prefer the desktop metaphor and traditions form factors, Linux and Windows has your back. If you don't share apples vision the iOS future and the current line up of Mac computers no longer fulfill your professional or personal requirements then it's time to switch.

No harm or foul, we're talking about computers and companies. Attachments to such things is folly.

Tim cook has dragged away iPhone from steve jobs vision:(
How? how do you know steve didn't envision the 6 form factor? He had a line of products years ahead. I'm sure he had the smooth flowing glass design into the body like on these models. Its very iPhone 1 style just refined.
I don't understand these steve comments when you just don't know the deeper picture.

I guess that depends on your perspectives. Sure they are lagging in many respects but i wouldn't say the organisation or the products are literally falling apart at the seams.

The iPad line is looking healthy, I have no complaints about the iPhone and as for the Mac... The upshot of it being so old (in computing terms) is that the line up by most accounts is very stable and still performs well enough for most people

Hmm, big decision for me is if I start the migration of my phones from Verizon to T-Mobile. I feel like I could save an easy $50 a month after I move all my various lines. But since they are incompatible phones and I'm on a family plan there will be some overlap period where I have to have both. But if I ever want to switch and take full advantage of the T-Mobile network, I need to start buying those GSM focused phones. Unless this year they finally come out with a truly 100% universal iPhone that has all the bands.
