And here I'm another user from India with same problem. Got my matte black 7 plus yesterday and it clicks when twisting the right lower corner. The clicking is consistent and reproduced every single time. Tried inspecting closely but couldn't see any play or loose adhesions. I'm also having a Leeco 2 phone whose screen clicks all over and the company released an official statement saying it was a protective measure instead. May be apple might release similar kind of statement seeing the issue being universal and problem being inert no matter even if there's a genuine explaination for it or not. But I couldn't help noticing a different kind of layer between the screen and chassis.. may be I'm paranoid or it's a water resistance rubber lining and that could also cause the clicking. It could be the taptic motor or anything but I'll stop being obsessive now and see how it goes over the warranty period.

Hi drjumbo0118, let's assume that this is a new feature that iphone 7 plus offer, like an Apple store member told me :))

And what exactly did the apple store guy say was the purpose of this"NEW FEATURE"?

They said the 7 plus is different from the 6s plus because it has new features, and the clicking sounds is one of the new features. I did not wanna argue with that guy, his answer made him look stupid enough :))

since mine is mostly creaking on the right side, I'm starting to wonder if it's a normal thing as the 7 may be more prone to the creaking given the fact that it hinges along the right side when you disassemble it. the 6s Plus hinges from the top when disassembled. it could just have something to do with that.

I highly suspect this is fine and isn't any issue, even for waterproofing, given we have everyone saying this happens and yet no reports of issues when submerging in water.

I can't really imagine that by October 17 nobody has attempted to put the iPhone 7+ under water to test it.

It's no big deal.

Proud screen clicker since iPhone 5 to iPhone 7 Plus through iPhone 6 Plus here.

My current iPhone 7 Plus 256Gb Rose Gold does some clicking noise when I press hard on the bottom of the screen (so it helps to just hold the urge to reproduce that click) and also there's a bit more pronounced creaking sound when phone is slightly twisted (which naturally occurs during the use) or strongly pressed on the sides.
This is already the second one that I have with the same issues.

So here's the picture as I see it:
1. The clicking issue has nothing to do with raw adhesive.
2. In my case tightening the screws did nothing. Loosening them, squishing phone together and tightening them again also didn't have any effect.
3. The main reason why screen is loose is slight twisting deformation the aluminum housing. It might've been present prior the purchase or accur while carrying in the pocket. (Mine had it out of the box)
4. If this issue occurs more often, I will try to loosen the screws, twist the phone in the right position and tighten the screws. This requires some teamwork so I decided not to do this for now. But I'm afraid that the issue somehow compromises the ability of screws to apply tension.

You explained the problem. I still can't understand how Apple can miss this design issue

Well, I have two possible explanations: either it was too late when the problem occurred to them (say they had already millions of housings in production) or it's really rather a feature that allows phone to survive high drops.
I own some E-ink reader which has EXTREMELY fragile screen all because of too much tension applied by screws holding it the same manner as in iPhone.

I'll have to go find them, but some said their water resistance wasn't as stated "on the box". This may be regardless of the clicking/creaking issue and whether or not any change in resistance is due to it.

Aside from that, I think my biggest irk is the cost of the phone and the click/creak/other noise issues make the device seem cheap. My 6s Plus made zero noise and had an even screen, etc.

Just when I thought I'd heard it all....I suppose the camera lag, iMessage freezing up when attaching pic, yellow screens, malfunctioning home buttons, hissing, etc...are all "new features". Give us a break Apple and get your act together!!!! After all , we are signing your paychecks!

I would still say that if all iPhone 7+'s are doing this it's not a flaw jut a by product of the build.

Annoying, but not harmful to the structure of the phone.

Maybe I can crowd source a little help... I'm working with a customer relations rep and we are in contact with the engineering team. They are asking me to video this going on. Does anyone have the means? I don't think I have a mic strong enough. And I figure if we can get more than one video the better. Whatever answers they are able to give me i will let everyone know!

Hello all,

I was wondering if anyone else was having the same problem that I'm having. I have a 7 plus in black and everything about is perfect except whenever the phone is put under any amount of flex (from lifting it up or just holding it with two hands) the phone makes a slight creaking sound that sounds like something is loose (not a bending sound). The smallest amount of flex from everyday use causes the left side to make that sound which is quite audible. Another example is when I'm holding it with two hands, and press the top left and bottom right portions of the screen at the same time, it makes a slight click. Again, I'm not bending it or trying to bend it in any way. It's really annoying... I would love to exchange it for another one, but all of the apples stores within a 50 miles radius of me are completely out of stock.
I thought it was only me but I'm surprised this is happening to others.

Whatever, dude. I know misery loves company, but you're carrying it a bit too far.

No clicks, no creaks, no buzzing, no yellow screen, no dead pixels, etc. I'm sorry I have a great 7 Plus. It's not my fault I got lucky. I sincerely hope you get a good phone eventually. Have a nice evening.
Just wanted to ask if your screen was a bit on the warm side?

Uhm, so... Creaking got MUCH worse in a day and witohout any reason at all, so I decided to mess with the screws again.
While I was loosening one of them, screen made audible creak without any pressure applied by me or anything.
So, now I'm sitting here, trying to twist the phone (with screws noticeably loose) in my hand, and, well, nothing happens. No creaks, no clicks. What the...

Looks like my initial conclusion was totally wrong: screws DO apply enough tension to hold the phone together. Not only that but they basically apply too much tension.
