Update: after being in my pocket at work tightening the screws did not work after all. Clicking in all its glory again.

Sprint basically called me crazy. They won't repair it because "there is nothing wrong" and said a replacement is not offered even though it's within 14 days. Time to get a screwdriver.
Return it then buy it again. That is allowed no matter WHAT they say.

Why should anyone have to tighten the screws on a perfectly new device......ifanatics continue to do the upmost to keep Apple in their good graces.....if I'm buying a new phone I shouldn't have to tighten screws once I receive it....this is embarrassing
Oh I agree. Just playing around while I wait for a replacement.

Very well stated, I couldn't agree more.

Exactly. In-store this evening, I could get one of the matte black ones to do it and one of them wouldn't. The manager was unimpressed with my findings, and "we can't replicate the issue." What bothers me the most is that there is acknowledgment across the board that devices are doing this, yet some won't even try tightening/loosening the screws (not that we should remotely need to on a brand new device). He touted that Apple's build quality and standards are so high that my phone is "fine." Seems crazy. Screw driver ordered to see if I can remedy myself.

I noticed my 7 Plus was making a creaky noise when pressing down on one side of the screen and pushing up on the other side of the screen. I don't wear skinny jeans or sit on my phone. It's always properly taken care of. Not sure if it arrived this way or if it developed over the past week.

Anyone else able to reproduce this? Not a huge deal, but with this and my screen uniformity issues I will return the phone once the 7 launch dies down.

It's been a reported issue. Some have reported its the adhesive not bonding with LCD Display. It's defective. Return it.

Wow, I didn't realize this many people are also affected by this problem. I got my replacement, and this one continues to creak/click like my original one. This one doesn't have the front panel click, but the side clicking is much more prominent... It hasn't bothered me too much in my everyday use, but I'll definitely be going back for another replacement before my warranty is up. Hopefully everyone's getting their phones replaced or have come up with solutions to fix this problem. I thought about tightening the screws myself, as others have done, but I don't want to risk future water damage if tightening the screws does affect the water resistance.

Hi guys,

I have just dropped by at Apple Store Sydney and i asked one of the store members. They said this creaking sound is normal to iphone 7 plus model. I argued that my old iphone 6S plus made no noise at all. He replied me that the 7 plus is different to the 6s plus, in which the 7 plus has more features and the new creaking sound is one of the new feature is the creaking noise when gently apply pressure on it.

Well said Apple. The way they answer their customers makes them look stupid.

7 plus with new home button, which does not physcially click but the screen does :))

Received my srewdriver half an hour ago. Tightend both screws approx. half round.
Noise is gone!

Don't want to rain on your parade, tightening the screws is not the fix and I can assure you the creaking will begin again.

Then tell them the iPhone 7 does NOT creak so they must all be defective... Nothing irks me more than dismissive sales people. It's their golden opportunity to brush you off in hopes that you fall for their total line of BS

Agreed. Mine returns shortly after.
I tested out some other display iphone 7 plus at Apple Store, all of them make creaking sounds, some is louder than another, none of them is as solid as the 6s plus.

So issue is quite global, even you get a replacement phone, there will be a very high chance of the same problem.

The only hope is to get a replacement phone which does not have too noisy creaking sound.
