I understand Apple's thought process on eliminating the 64GB configuration, but I don't like it. Removing the most popular option has a tendency to bite you in the ass.

It would be a little ironic if more people can finally store their entire iTunes music library locally on their iPhone, only to find they can't use their existing headphones to listen to any of it.

Buhaha, now that is irony at its best. It will happen lol.

What Apple needs to do is give me some more iCloud storage for free.

Maybe they should give you the phone for free too. And the service.

Need more storage? Buy more storage.

I love how people assume that as their needs go up, this means the free default should be raised, and not that they now qualify as buyer of a more storage.

Indeed. I think we're all entitled to more iCloud storage for free. I would think 50 GB should be the minimum. Well. Why not make it 100 GB. Yeah, that's a good starting point. While we're at it, I also think I'm entitled to iPhone docks. For free, of course. I think cases and covers should be free too considering how fragile and bendable Apple products are. Now that I think about it, I'm not sure why we have to pay anything for Apple products. Considering how rich they are, I think they can afford to give me some of their wares for free. Paying a dollar a month for 50 GB is just highway robbery. And Tim Cook is the one holding the pistol.

This person gets it, there are still people in this forum who live on this earth.

I guess it'll be better for their bottom line, too.

Steve was notoriously greedy yet lived like a bum. He cheated Woz out of money early on by lying to him. He said A LOT of things that were nothing more than fancy talk (which he was a master at). At least Tim is giving stock dividends and being much more open with charities, etc. Steve was brilliant but frugal and stubborn as all hell.

Cellular Data roaming is expensive. Data roaming maybe cheap in Europe, but other locations remains way too expensive unless free WIFI is everywhere, which it isn't.
Depends on what carrier you use and where you travel to. I use Verizon and they have TravelPass which allows me to use my phone in other countries for $10 per day. I'd say that's reasonably priced.

No current headphone jack, no newer iPhones for my family and me.

Also, this fascination with water-proof phones - why; more important how?

The microphone and the speaker need open access to the air to be able to use the device as a phone! If people are so desperate to throw their iPhones into a lake and dive after it, they can use one of those bulky cases available already for about 4+ years.
I live where it rains a lot, it would be nice to use my phone when it's raining and not care that it's getting wet. Just because you can't see the need for something doesn't mean there aren't others who could use it.

Not at all. Not everyplace as great connectivity, not to mention the expense in having a bid data plan, or when you're in the air. Hotel wifi is spotty at best, airport wifi is too saturated, the more I travel the less i understand the attractiveness of cloud storage except to backup in case of loss.
So my question is, what would be a better solution? Having more storage in the phone is great but if you loose your phone during travel you have no backup. And a external drive has the same problem of being able to be lost or stolen. I've traveled to Kazakhstan a few times and the internet their sucks, but at night it would sync all my pictures and everything taken that day.

So far I have Zero to No interest in the new iPhone. I think I'll stay with my 6 Plus. Apple has started to lag behind the competition, and is making minor upgrades each year while raising prices to ridiculous levels.

Am I the only one who is happy with 16GB?

I don't need my whole iTunes library on phone with 1000 albums and movies because i can stream everything or just decide what I really use and need.

I don't have 50 games, just 5 I really have time for and play.

I take tons of pictures and videos, upload them to the cloud and remove from the phone.

I have almost all the time 5-6GB free.

iPhone 6s 16GB.

If these are Apple's choices, I will be a happy bunny. Maxed out my 64gb 6 Plus a while ago. Provided they're the same prices, of course.

It would be nice if you got enough iCloud storage to backup whatever device you purchased, with the huge price increase of the bigger devices covering the cost of the data. If you want to backup multiple devices and have all your photos for all time in iCloud then buy more storage, but to buy a 64GB phone and fill it with photos and music and have it always backup everything would be a much better user experience than we currently have.

Does anyone even get close to using up 256 GB's on a phone...? (4K recording aside obviously)
I'm sure some people still like to load up their phones with hundreds of albums like we did back in the iPod classic days. Also, lots of people don't back up their photos so they just keep all of them on their phone forever. Other than these two circumstances, I don't understand why people need it though. Maybe they're going on 3 month long vacations and are using their phone as their only camera... and they really like to record video... and they take 50 retakes of every shot and keep every single photo and video that they take?

Except they'll be able to use the old headphones with an adapter. It's not like your music will stop working because there's no longer a 3.5mm headphone jack in the phone.

All the haters will be silenced if half of the current rumours are to become true. Yes, new displays, yes 32GB entry model, yes new Macbook Pro's (with design changes and multiple ports). Maybe reading the forums will become fun again.
