What the heck are 6P and 5P lenses?

I believe one camera will have 6 lenses elements, and the other camera will have 5 lense elements.

Most lenses are not one single lense, but made up of multiple lenses to focus light photons a particular way. With the rumoured wide angle and telephoto dual camera setup, the light will need to be focuses differently for each lense, hence the different elements.

I sure hope not. I want apple to copy samsung's iconX buds and have a rechargeable case. No more cables!

Oh I suspect they will. But I can see the complaint there ... 'wired headphones don't need a special charging case', and 'it's just one more thing to carry'. But truly it makes the most sense, because where are you going to carry them to protect them when not in use? And argument can be made for just shoving them in your pocket, but there's a risk of losing them in there (and then the whole 'what if you wash them in your pants') argument.

Of course my counter argument is better to carry around a convenient carrying case than deal with the wire management and constant plugging and unplugging. Most people are carrying a bag of some sort anyway to keep them in. My point is that it's nice to have an option, as well as a safety cable option (which doesn't necessarily have to be a charging/wired connection).

I think we can promise that they will have wireless charging.
At some point in the future, might take a few years.
And to be honest: it is the one wire-situation i am not too averse to.
Would rather just carry a plug and cable than some mat or device.
But I am sure they are working on it as we speak.

Well they should get going on it because it's been around for years, but Apple has always been good about holding a few features back to motivate people to upgrade.

So does a toilet seat with piss on it but I'm not the type to take a seat anyway.

If your hands is sweaty and dirty, then pick the other color.

Some people has clean and not sweaty hands and in good clean environment and love shinny stuff.

Oh yeah. You're so right. So much to apologize for:
New Apple A10 chip
Storage capacities of 32 GB, 128 GB, and 256 GB
Five color options
IPX7 water resistance
Next Gen Audio jack
Earpiece receiver to become a speaker
3D-Touch click-less home button
Dual-lens rear camera on the iPhone 7 Plus
Upgraded rear camera flash
Possible upgraded proximity sensor
FeliCa NFC support

I mean; right??
The only things they left off were:
Scratchable screen.
Slow as s**t.
Exploding battery.

A long list of incremental, non-innovative feature improvements doesn't suddenly make the product innovative or worthwhile. Look at the items you listed there. Color options, removal of audio jack, earpiece that becomes a speaker. I mean, really? Steve Jobs would never walk on stage and do product presentation with a list this lightweight.

So they changed the color of the most popular phone. Great. Now you're going to be able to see every tiny scratch just like you did on the iPhone 5.

Probably another Tim Cook decision.
You can see every scratch regardless what color you have. Also most have cases so where are these scratches appearing from again?

I actually feel like the glossy might be easier to grip than the regular finish. But we'll see.

If both glossy piano black and dark black do get announced, I might have to pre order the two colours to see them in the flesh. Unfortunately the nearest Apple Store to me involves a 180 mile round trip, so pre ordering them is the only way I can try them out/see them in the flesh.

Nope, the iPhone has had a curved glass for 3 years...unfortunately for Samsung they read the rumors wrong and thought that meant curved display, so they made awkward worthless gimmick phones with curved displays because they thought thats what Apple was doing. When that turned out to be wrong, they were stuck with yet another gimmick with no purpose that they cant back down from.

Huh? The iPhone Plus is the most awkward phone around in terms of design and usability. The Galaxy S7 edge with a 5.5" display feels small in the hand compared to the Plus and is easier to use one handed. Heck the Note 7 is trimmer then the Plus and it has a 5.7" display.

What I'm saying is it's great to have standards. You can have yours, I can have mine and if you have to worry about mine you're worrying about the wrong things.

Yes I agree! I wasn't worried about you, just mystified that fingerprints on a mobile phone is an issue at all. All the best!

I just hope piano black won't look plastic. I wonder how will the aluminum look in a glossy finish.

My guess is it will look similar to the space black Apple Watch, and that thing is very, very sexy.

It's going to be tough choosing between the matte and glossy finish.

There is no hurry, is there?
They may to decide to implement it when they are happy with it, or when they can make the most profit. Either way i expect to see it some time in the future.
Despite your promise that it will not see light of day.

I apologize for not being as clear as I could have been. I'm not bemoaning the existence of option - it's just not a personal choice. I don't always get to work in clean environments. It looks very nice though.

More choices are good IMO. And I am grateful we finally have some real black options back - having two almost makes up for the lack in the last few generations. My 6S grey is jealous.

Fair enough. But whatever the argument, the minute the iphone is shown on the big screen with no headphone jack, the 3.5mm port is dead in the water. And so it shall be.
I think when more and more people try wireless headphones they will become the norm. They are so convenient- especially at the gym. Because they're lightning connected Apple could add more features, like dedicated buttons. I hope they do something cool with them and give an easier way to charge.

I respectfully suggest you ask someone that bought a $1000 pair of headphones 30 years ago & uses them both in business and for pleasure if they would have bought them repeatedly six times over that period, if the plug changed every five years.
There is a HUGE difference between consumer tech (replace every 12-24 months) and pro grade equipment (replace perhaps never- can last several decades).
The pro market would dry up overnight if it was as you imagine.
Think of how a Rolex is an investment... something you could leave to an heir. What if wouldn't be "compatible" after 5 years... you'd buy a Timex instead, yeah?
The audio jack IS here to stay in pro equipment. It is going the way of the dodo in consumer equipment.
Both of those facts are nearly incontrovertible.
You know, it's kinda funny/sad how people don't want to buy quality, long lasting stuff any more. I bought my Audio-Technica M50x's because I hope they last me the rest of my life. Admittedly they aren't even really expensive but audio equipment is something that if you buy the right stuff it lasts nearly forever. If I had the money I would buy a top-line home stereo setup, ( Polk, Klipsch, or something like that) because good sound never goes out of style. Now people just want to buy the latest hot item.

I disagree. I find iOS 10 on a larger phone much easier to use one handed. I tried several times with the galaxy and couldn't even text with it one handed.

That makes some sense, but I have never seen this nomenclature to describe the number of elements in a lens. Normally, the description is just "a 5-element lens" or "this lens consists of/contains 5 elements". But maybe these compact lens & camera modules have their own naming conventions. Have you seen this type of description somewhere else before?
