watt about the SE, it's a two-year product cycle confirmed?
SE and iPhone 7 are likely placeholders because the design of the '2017' iPhone aka iPhone 8 with edge-to-edge display was delayed further. We should see yearly cycles for all three devices starting 2017

Let it go..... Again I am going to say this over and over...... That 3.5 jack takes up an enormous amount of internal space you do realize that right? Removing it allows for much more internal space for things like battery, speakers, and so on. So what difference does it make if apple will be including a lightning to 3.5 adapter? How many people truly use the 3.5 jack AND the lighting port at the same time? Likewise I am sure there will be y adapters out there to allow for charging and 3.5 jack. Even on the android side they are moving away from the 3.5 port and going over to USB-C.... The 3.5 jack is a dying tech standard. The new standard will be USB-C/Bluetooth.
It should be noted that the official apple docks have a 3.5 mm jack built in them while only connecting to the phone via lightning.
THE SIGNS WERE THERE ALL ALONG!!

Well according to some around here Apple will never introduce an edge to edge display because a large bezel is preferable. I guess time will tell.

Why doesn't Apple move that tag to the much larger Lightning hole nearby- probably won't even need the endoscopes for that one.

Or how about putting the tag in the faux speaker holes on the side where the 3.5mm jack used to be?

I know, I know. Water can only enter the 3.5mm jack hole. Water chooses to ignore those other holes.;)

Oh yeah I totally forgot about those fake speaker holes! I seriously hope they put something behind them, otherwise removing the headphone jack to replace it with fake speaker holes is ******* stupid!

Well, I'm like 90% sure that piano black will only come on the 256gb version & maybe only the Plus; but if I'm wrong- I'll get it on my 128gb 4.7" iPhone 7.

If that's the case then it's the piano black for me!! Definitely it will stand out in a sea of iphones.

yes, so for all those who like to listen to the jack while the phone is charging....the apple lightning dock is there

No, no, no, no, NO! If Apple does anything, it is genius. Faux speaker holes for a non-speaker create an aesthetic symmetry of design making it so much more appealing than any iPhone ever made. It is a perfecting of an already perfect case, magically more perfect than ever before. Beyond perfect. The retina screen of perfection. Our limited human senses cannot even grasp the full perfection of THIS perfection. Genius I tell you. G-E-N-I-U-S.

Besides, maybe the headphone adapter "tail" soon to be hanging out of many iPhones can lock into those faux speaker holes to better secure it to the base of the iPhone. Don't want a fragile, prone-to-fraying, Lightning cable flopping around, you know. Again, GENIUS! Genius times 2. Doubly Genius. What's the word?..

Magically, Retina-Perfect, Genius Squared

Sure. And the beauty of that is, new technology can keep old equipment as relevant as ever. Sonos makes a wireless hub for just such old stereo equipment. If Apple really does introduce a significant improvement in the sound quality of their wireless audio, I can't imagine not buying a compatible wireless receiver to use with my beloved wired headphones, and get the best of both worlds. Why would I want to keep plugging my headphones into my iPhone if there was no reason to?
Because I totally want a dongle on my headphones..... that I have to keep charged. Look I'm not against new and better, just make sure it's actually better. I have Bluetooth headphones as well (that interestingly enough have wires, so I get lower quality AND tangled buds :( but they are used in a loud environment so I don't care) but I'm under no premise that people are going to flock out to buy new headphones for the simple reason I keep coming back to, charging. And proprietary Lightning headphones are going to be irritating. If the alleged adapter is really included with the new iPhone, I would be curious to see which way it adapts.

They will probably be copying Samsung on several features as time goes on. Waterproofing will be this year, iris scanner next year, and wireless charging after that. Everyone is guilty of copying.

As long as it isn't the explosive batteries feature, I don't mind.

If they again fail to put OIS into the camera on the 4.7" model then all hope is lost for the smaller iPhone, I hope the rumours are true but they were pretty thin rumours on this topic.

This would be a huge feature for the 4.7 iPhone. I'm thinking if Apple does Implement OIS, they will definitely touch on this.

That makes some sense, but I have never seen this nomenclature to describe the number of elements in a lens. Normally, the description is just "a 5-element lens" or "this lens consists of/contains 5 elements". But maybe these compact lens & camera modules have their own naming conventions. Have you seen this type of description somewhere else before?

I've never seen it described this way either, it took me a few seconds to work it out.

I think they were abbreviating or using industry jargon. Remember that Ming-Chi Kuo's reports are using industry sources. These sources may have used this nomenclature when giving him this info.

In a couple of years this will all work quite smoothly I am sure. As with most stuff in tech: there is never a final perfect solution on sale, it's all in flow and transition, easier for some than for others, but that is how it is.

For me the most frustrating thing is how all the best features are going to the 5"+ version.

Which would be fine if they made that overall phone smaller and easier to hold, like the Galaxy S 7 edge or note 7 which are much easier to grasp.

The 6+ is massive in comparison and without a case is super slippery.

Very disappointed

Whenever Apple doesn't have the technology to do something they always paint the opposing option as the preferable choice. Of course that all changes once Apple has the ability to do it themselves.
