It should be noted that the official apple docks have a 3.5 mm jack built in them while only connecting to the phone via lightning.
THE SIGNS WERE THERE ALL ALONG!!

While I don't know, but I am reasonable sure the old 30-pin docks did not have the 3.5mm jack, for the simple reason that it did not NEED it. Why? Because you could dock it, and yet use a 3.5mm jack at the top of the phone. Don't think that's a sign to anything besides poor port placement. :p

I hope they beefed up the lightning port because with all the adapters, dongles and cables that need to be plugged into it I can see it being the first thing to fail.
I've used my lightning port every single day on every single iPhone since iPhone 5. I think the port will be ok. It's not a flimsy piece of crap

Whenever Apple doesn't have the technology to do something they always paint the opposing option as the preferable choice. Of course that all changes once Apple has the ability to do it themselves.

Or, they figure out a different way to do it, which is generally pretty damn good.. ;)

Zzzzzzz
How boring !
"Same" iphone with diff colors option.
I sure hope that not too many people buying it... so i dont have to wait in line to get mine ...;-)

Well you just lost that gamble and your point. The original 30-pin Dock included with the iPhone had a 3.5mm pass through jack, as did every dock they ever sold for the iPhone. Albeit the original dock did not need a DAC and amp, as the 30-pin connector output analogue natively.

Waiting for the 10th anniversary even though, IMO, these are good enough changes to upgrade. I can't believe people complain and whine that these are minor changes. What are they expecting a blender? A reciprocating saw? C'mon it's more waterproof than ever before, it'll have stereo sound in landscape mode, a fast A10 chip, a base storage of 32GB, better camera, and it will love you back only as an Apple product knows how. I am hoping that the 10th anniversary phone WILL be something radical, but even it's improvements here and there over the 7, I'd still go for it.

Good point. I did read while back the Lightning port would possibly be made thinner or thinner in dimension. If true, this could allow for less play with a tighter tolerance for cables/adapters.

Sold. Just really wish it had fast charging or wireless charging or even both.but fast charging was something I reaaaallly wanted. My time with the S7 series made me really enjoy rapid charging.

We don't know if it will have fast or wireless charging yet. Possibly.

I thought you ordered the Note 7 from a few posts back or you preordered it? At least you started a thread on this. Are you switching over? Last I read you stated you were not interested in the iPhone 7.

Not sure what that has to do with anything. Airplay is a protocol to stream audio and video over IP networks. Apple has never used it to stream audio to headphones (because it would be very inefficient in terms of battery life).
i always use airplay with every speaker in the house to stream music

I went to the Note 7 and if course it gets recalled. I really love this phone from a design perspective it puts Apple to shame. The screen, bezels, wireless and quick charging are great features.

Apple on the other hand kills it with the CPU and GPU. I don't play games but I give credit where it is due. I only wish I could use iOS on the Note 7 once the batteries are fixed of course haha.

Most who own the Note 7 won't admit the iPhone is faster in terms of performance. So I applaud you for this. And yes, the Note 7 is a great device with features I wish the iPhone adopted.

Good post! Thanks for being positive and honest without bashing.

"it'll have stereo sound in landscape mode"

how is this happening if the speakers are on one side of the device when held landscape?

A 32GB base model (though at least three years overdue) is probably my favorite news about the iPhone 7. I was originally thinking about waiting and getting a 64GB 6S once the prices dropped but now I may as well go for the base model 7.

Abandoning the 16GB model had
To happen this year. With 4K, Live Photo's, music and software updates, 16 GB is not enough anymore. I too will be purchasing the 4.7 iPhone 7,32 GB in black. See you on preorder day.

Nice. This will be a good upgrade from my 6. I'm itching to move up to the Plus' screen and I need more storage than 64gb.

If they kept the headphone jack and shrunk the bezels a bit so that they could fit a slightly larger display on the standard 7 and make the plus version a little smaller, I would be ready to upgrade in a heartbeat.

But as it is, I'm still on the fence.

I'm on your page. I will let the Keynote make mind up for me. Reducing the bezels would greatly appeal the look to the iPhone. I think I will likely upgrade, but I'm hoping for a surprise or two.

At this point I think it's fairly safe to say that we know what it looks like, so unfortunately I don't think that we will be surprised by smaller bezels. Maybe something else that will make up for it though?
