I have just seen that some reports are saying it may cost $1,400 for the entry level iphone 8, if the iPhone 8 does cost this much apple won't be getting my money, I'm going up to £1,100 and that's it so fingers crossed!

I'd go £1100 for the 256GB version, or cheaper for a 64GB version. There's no way I'm paying more than £1100 for a phone either, and I don't think Apple is going to release something as expensive as that. People call Apple for their prices, but they're always trying to minimise costs without minimising functionality / quality. I'd be surprised if we have an iPhone 8 that doesn't have a sub-£1000 price. I'm expecting £995 for 128GB at most - and I'd be surprised by that.

£895 would be believable and acceptable. £995 would be alarming. Post-£1000 and people won't be buying.

£999 64GB
£1099 256GB

That's what I think it will be. It might be £869/899 for 64GB and £969/999 for 128GB instead, let's see.

Hey guys,

I got talking with a friend of a friend who works in the Apple Store and they are expecting the iPhone 8 to start in 64gb at £1249 and 256gb for £1349

this guy told me this is the pricing a lot of his colleagues are expecting as well, do you guys think this is too much ? I don't think I will be getting e iPhone 8 if this turns out to be true

No to the iPhone 8 but I'd love to know the store where you can sell mothers-in-law. ;)

for this price I expect Tim Cook to bring my ordered iPhone 8 himself including a free iPad

£999 might sound reasonable for the iPhone 8 64gb but 64gb doesn't go far these days.

£999 does not sound reasonable at all! At least not for me. At that screen size I would say closer to £800 is reasonable if not lower personally. If it was a 7+ sized phone with a 6-6.3" screen then around £900 might be reasonable considering the current climate.

For that price, the entry level storage would have to be 128gb for me to even consider.

What about if there is a 512GB model so it could start like this:

£999 - 128GB
£1099 - 256GB
£1,299 - 512GB

I would get a 128GB which is what I'm hoping they will announce, I don't mind paying around £999 - £1,200 for the iPhone 8/Edition (or whatever they call it) providing the rumours are true:

OLED
3D facial recognition - advanced system
No home button and gesture controls
AR featured camera
Glass back/design
Wireless charging

Personally I think these are all worth paying for and No doubt Apple will demo on stage.

The phone will still do the same thing as any other iPhone. People will just pay a bit more and justify it in their own minds just to do the same tasks differently. Fair enough, but I have not seen anything leaked that we've not seen before in the mobile market. The power of marketing with the right approach can convince people it's not actually 3 years late lol.

I don't need 128 GB of storage. But with all the latest technology implemented into the OLED model, I would justify the storage to have all of those features you listed if a lower storage wasn't offered under 128 GB.

I've really got to prepare myself for this. This thing ain't cheap.

We all can (adequately :D) rationalize the purchase with the (I'm glued to the F****d phone) logic.

Still, it's $$$

1000$ USD is appx just a bit less than 1250$ CAD

So similar price range to 256 GB iPhone 7+

Interesting. Will be interesting to see how carriers push it here

£899/£999 is my guess for 64gb and 256gb.

Maybe keeping 32/128/256 for the old style phones.

But honestly, who knows, lol.
Well Samsung are charging £869 for the Note 8, so £899 is probably the wishful thinking, best case scenario. I reckon we’ll be starting at closer to £969 to be honest. Then add another £90-170 for the extra capacity if they go with 64/256/512 sizes.

I’m calling £969/£1059/£1209. iPad Pro is £90 more for 256, then a whopping £170 more for the 512.

They won’t sell many of the 512Gb options, but like the Apple Watch Edition, the profit margin on each unit sold will be huge.
