Not sure why everybody is saying that there will be an iPhone X Plus. I don't think it will be the case.
Or may be Ming-Chi Kuo was told by Apple to spread such news so that people will get desperate for IphoneX.
Nope. The today X was like the first iphone, the begining. next year the iphone 5.8” will start from 799 or max 899$ and the plus will start from 899$ or 999$

I'm waiting for the iPhone Xs or whatever they call it, next year. Hopefully the price will come down a couple hundred bucks, just like the original iPhone.
Right, and no 3Dtouch. But by generationally, I meant the SE has the A9/2 GB of the 6S, not the A8/1GB of the 6, nor the A7/1GB implied by calling it a “5SE”. Being A9/2GB gives it life for another couple years.Eh. It’s really a hybrid of a 6 and a 6S. Even though it has the A9, it also has first-generation Touch ID and a camera without OIS.
A few points: we can’t just say the SE has 5% share. First, we don’t have accurate numbers. Second, if you factor the other small devices it’s a larger share. Third, there is no reason why an X treatment of the SE inherently requires the same dimensions. An oled screen could easily keep the same proportions. The question is whether people who have been forced to a 4.7” would be happier with a smaller form factor phone that has been given the same treatment as the X as in faster internals, smaller bezels, etc. that’s part of the equation as well: the number of buyers moving from a 4.7” traditional to a 4” bezel-reduced SE with the power of the X. I speculate it’s more than you’re thinking.I hear what you’re saying, but I think demand is the reason why the smallest phone is the lowest tier only. Remember how the SE came about in the first place. Apple basically updated an older model with newer internals, which gave them a low cost phone they can sell to India and other price sensitive areas, and allowed them to satisfy (and to some extent test) demand for smaller phones at the same time.
With SE market share at about 5% (est but even if it were 10%) and a lot of those sales due to price, that leaves little apparent demand for a X version SE. Overwhelmingly, people want larger phones, even when small phones are quite a bit less expensive.
Also, people who like the physical size of the SE and/or the 4.0” screen size would both be (at least slightly) less satisfied with a X type SE, since both the body and screen would be taller, affecting pocketabily and reachability, respectively. And it would zero out demand at the lowest price tier.
For those reasons, I really don’t see Apple adding a smaller X model, but a X Plus model seems almost certain. I do think the SE will be refreshed in the spring, with an A10 or ideally A11, which would give the phone another 3 years of selling life.
I actually find to Touchid to be faster than faceid to be honest, the issue is actually the home button . I could live with faceid
Agree regarding not really knowing market share, but analysis can be done. With the 6, 6 Plus, 6S, 6S Plus, 7, 7 Plus, and now 8, 8 Plus and X all being in the mix that’s a good 700+ million larger phones in the installed base by fall 2018. Even if the SE were at 100MM by then, at least half those would have to be due to the price, not a smaller-size preference. After 2.5 years of sales, that implies a demand for smaller size at around 20MM/year.A few points: we can’t just say the SE has 5% share. First, we don’t have accurate numbers. Literally after 15 seconds of use I forgot the home button i'd be using for 10 years even existed.
Probably is now I want rid on the iPad too. I've started swiping up to multi-tasking and tapping at the side to return to home screen instead of pressing the home button.
For me Face ID is a lot faster because i'm not actually doing anything - I don't think about unlocking my phone anymore, by the time ive swiped up, it's unlocked - as I said, it's just like having an always unlocked phone, it works far better than I thought it would - now I want it on my MacBook Pro though!
As they should. Wouldn’t make sense for it be have the same production level as something much higher in demand.
Honestly if you’re in the market for the 8 save yourself the extra $120 and get a 7 instead. The differences are basically nonexistent.
That’s too bad because 11.2 on the beta on my 6 Plus is screaming fast. I think it’s their optimization release. If the final release stays this fast it’s definitely bought me another year without having to upgrade. I was super close to throwing the towel in too. That is exactly what I did, buying the iPhone 7 128GB model with my carrier’s payment plan. iOS 11 just brought my iPhone 6 to a crawl and decided to bite the proverbial bullet.
After the initial rush of IUP upgraders, early adopters and those that always buy the latest/greatest has subsided, I’d actually be surprised if the X outsells the 8/8 Plus models combined.I'm a little surprised that Apple expected more demand. If they release two different phone models and one is clearly "the one", then the other one is going to get almost no attention. Isn't that what happened with the 5C?
Seems like the pluses have been gaining in popularity each cycle. The standard phone has become more niche. Moving forward I wonder if they'll even have size choices or if everything will just be X type large screen with standard size housing.
No, the “plus” have always been given better camera features. That is an upsell.@thisisnotmyname is commenting about the info in the article, not rendering an opinion regarding which one is a better buy. If the analyst are to be believed, the 8+ already outsells the 8, so the opposite isn't true.
That logic doesn't hold up since the 8+ is reportedly the first + model to outsell the regular model. The + models for the 6, 6S, and 7 didn't outsell the regular models so the your theory doesn't hold.

My wife upgraded from a 5(!) to the 8 today because she didn’t feel the upgraded X was worth the extra $10/month. Gotta say, after seeing the 8 in action and side by side with the X it really isn’t that noticeably different. The X’s gesture based UI and Face ID is a much better UX in my opinion but as a non-geek my wife it’s didn't care much. She’s just stoked that her iPhone experience is quick again and that the keyboard doesn’t freeze when typing.Though I much prefer the size of the SE, I didn't want to hold my breath long enough for Apple to release an updated model. So I got the 8, and so far I'm happy with it. It's a bit bigger than I'd like; if Apple got rid of its forehead and chin, it would be the perfect size for me. I'm assuming bezel-less displays will gradually be deployed for all models. But until then, I'm satisfied with the iPhone few apparently want.
I don’t have any keyboard lag in Safari on my 6 Plus. Strange. That was my hope, but I’m also on 11.2 beta and I figured it isn’t going to get any faster than this. Safari usage suffers most for me with severe keyboard lag, but the battery life is definitely better than 11.1. I may try a restore on the 6 and see what happens, but my daughter has already asked for it as a hand-me-down, and I’m ready for the 7 anyway.
What’s odd is that my work 6S is humming along nicely
