Not so sure . The X price point and moving away from touchid is not for everyone . The iPhone 8 is a very nice unit

Just can't see people deciding to get a X over the 8 all the sudden.... it's £300 more..... that is a very large amount .
It will be. Touch ID is dead. The price point will probably come down once they phase out the non-X models. It's clearly the direction they're heading in.

i think the sales of regular and plus would be balanced if they had equal features. plus is faster, more battery, better camera, which makes the 4.7 as last years device right on the day of release.

Apple is selling more of the more expensive phones. They’re doomed.

They will become a trillion dollar company under Cook. He really has made a profit turning Apple into a luxury fashion company for the wealthy. I haven't liked any of their laptops or computer hardware for a while now.

So cheers to those who make it a trillion dollar company. After 15 years a customer, I know I'm looking for a tech company to really hit it out of the park like jobs did.

As they should. Wouldn’t make sense for it be have the same production level as something much higher in demand.

Honestly if you’re in the market for the 8 save yourself the extra $120 and get a 7 instead. The differences are basically nonexistent.
Another con of the Iph8 is that it has a glass back, making it more fragile. Plus, it's assumed that you're getting an Iph8 over an Iph7 for the wireless charging, but it can't do that out of the box. You need to spend more money on those accessories! More if it's something you'd like to do in multiple places (e.g. one for the office, one for at home)

Well, unless "wireless" charging is what you want.

Back to having one model only. One Size, One Storage, One Price.

Back to Steve Jobs' Simplification. The reality is the pricing than options withholding people, 2nd-hand or older models are bringing transparency to the very fact.
Bring back the 17" MacBook, price it same as the smaller screen sizes, than look at the response. iPad Air & iPad Pro-Pra-Pre-Pru is illogical nonsense for profitary greed. In addition, just have one storage tier but of maximum capacity affordable by the technological limitations of the time, ex- the Classic iPod is classic for a reason.
They probably want to cater markets with different price points. Not all can afford the 256GB version.

Putting all your resources behind one phone model made sense when you were a small company with very limited resources, and so had to be very focused as to where to allocate them.

The Apple of today is way bigger and it's no longer enough to just release one model of iPhone and iPad every year. What Apple is basically doing is segmenting the market and offering something for every price point.

Since all iPhones going forward will have wireless charging, why not spend and buy the accessory now? They last longer than the apple cables....

Small wonder, when they continue to fail to offer the same features on the 4.7” model. I absolutely hate how Apple likes to reserve certain specs and features for bigger devices.

And then the year after that it will be the tiny SE X.
Doubt it, but god I hope so. I love the small form factor of the SE and would pay top dollar for a phone that size with top end specs.

I did decide it in a heartbeat! iPhone 8 is not bad but it's just the same iPhone it has been around for few years with some improvements. The X is the new sheriff in town. May we well pay that extra and get the best. And by the way, i did love Touch IT so much that it hurts me when I say I am not missing it.

Steve was great visionary but I like better today's Apple.
One size for all philosophy is dump. Options are better.

No idea what you're talking about. I love my 8. How does the 8 not fit one handed operation but the X does? That makes zero sense.

You are right, in a terms of one hand use they are not much different.
The difference is that X is all screen and 8 does have the traditional bezels and much smaller screen.
Btw... loving the gestures on the X. I never thought I would say this but feels more natural then having to press the home button.

Given that the X really favors those who were already users of the 4.7” size or desired the smaller form factor, I wouldn’t be surprised to see some decline in 8 sales not that it’s here. It’s clear the 8 (and even the 8+) wasn’t expected to ever be a huge launch seller. At the same time, the 8 looks to be a model that will sell well over time. Sales may slow from initial demand, but they will eventually reach a steady state.
Have you used the X? It has a similar problem to the 8+ where the top of the screen is difficult to reach one-handed.

on purpose because the cost of those specs is less than the extra margin apple makes of the plus. hence they are incentivizing plus sales.

Coming from a guy who has had 3 iPhoneX's and now went for the superior in every way iPhone 8+.
Coming from someone who clearly has certain issues (3 phones in 12 days? really?), I will take what you say with a large pinch of salt.

Glad you are happy

I've owned every generation of iPhone , top spec, don't worry about my ability to afford one ;) my desktop is a Mac Pro .... why not eh...

It's called a forum, about mac products , people have opinions , YOU are in the wrong place.

I believe you’re the one who doesn’t know how to write on a forum..

I honestly do not give a dry **** to what you own or owned in the past...

“It needs to stop”... it needs why? Because you decided so? Because even if you’re a billioner who can afford using a Mac Pro as a wc you do not want to spend 1000+ bucks on a phone?

You should use some of your billions to learn how to express your opinion though...

You’re right, that’s why the 7 has been outselling the 8 by a wide margin.

Ming-Chi Kuo greatly dropped the ball with multiple reports of “iPhone X production problems” that would render the device “unavailable until February”.

No longer a reliable source.
Except we know that the X did in fact have said issues early in production. The only thing Kuo got wrong was the severity of those issues and how long it would take Apple to correct them. As far as speculators go, he has about as good of a track record as anyone else. You just dislike him because those predictions often come at Apple’s expense, and lord help the speculator that makes precious Apple look bad.
