From Apple's public announcements regarding the update, I wouldn't say "many."

I looked through the thread, has anyone compiled what has definitely been made public.

I'm curious to see if Apple has anything else up their sleeve.

Server Error at 9:04 PST. Has anyone else noticed the WiFi Store being on the right hand side of the screen? could there be 2 more icons appear as in the iPod Touch presentation of the last keynote?

Wow, sometimes you people make big things out of nothing. There are a billion things that could be happening to make iTunes do that.

No server error for me.
And yes, plenty of people have noticed that. It could just be so it can be positioned above the iPod icon.
 
so under the itunes section of apples website on the right it now says...

^ Amazing catch IJohn! I think they are updating their website as we speak. That is definitely a new one to me. If you click on learn more it says connect to it on iphone and ipod touch, it doesn't say coming soon you will be able to connect to it through iphone...

I have been keeping tabs on their itunes website and I thought it was different before....anyone else have any other ideas?

says coming soon on the iPhone part it has had that to the right on the iTunes for quite sometime now

hopefully this update allows time travel otherwise :apple:

It still looks the same on the Iphone portion of the website...but I don't remember what it looked like before on the Ipod/Itunes portion...like I was saying about the server before...usually they block all access while they prep an upgrade...or were all just high...:D

Still has the "Later this month..." on the iPhone page, though.


Later this month, just find yourself a Wi-Fi hot spot and tap the iTunes button. You can browse, search, preview, buy, and instantly download music to your iPhone.
 
The apple store is down....what is going on?!?!

This is way too exciting to go to bed yet!

Maybe they are updating the iphone pictures with the new icons eh?? hahaha....

who knows why the store is down...im just taking a guess :)
 
^ This is true.. Not working for me either! Also, had an issue when trying to push the update button for iphone, error message came up, but now it says 1.0.2 crap again.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here...but maybe something is happening...or there are 50,000 morons like myself hitting the website right now and screwing it all up...also the server seemed to start checking on the update again...yumm...thank god for my buddy Johnnie Walker! Sweet nectar of the gods!

Mine said that today too...but it changes for everyone on different days is what I have been hearing depending on when you try to check for an update
 
I checked a few others...

Only the U.S. Store is down. Makes sense for iPhone.

Well at least the worldwide stores are still up. (UK, Switzerland, Findland, etc)
 
I was also thinking that a late night update might be in order, to avoid any server problems. Not really fair to the East Coast so maybe after midnight for all?

I have a feeling more people may be hitting "Check for Update" than would be for a Mac OS X update...
 
I am not going to get too excited until I see the iPhone site down for maintenance. That said, I am hitting the pillows for the night, as I am one of those East Coasters who may possibly be getting screwed in this midnight mayhem, but I highly doubt it
 
If that post about the CNN report is true, it will happen at 12 PST... That means I get to stay up till 3 tonight....

this was on another forum i just read

I noticed yesterday that under the cables and docks link for iPhone they put the TV out cables on there which means the new update will probably include that functionality.
