For example, handling iPhoto Events sync'ing with iPhone -- if it is indeed a feature in the iPhone update; I haven't heard it is, but is on the iPods, I think -- may already be in iTunes 742, or it may only have to do with iTunes acting as a conduit and the lack of Event syncing is something that has to be coordinated between iPhone software and iPhoto 08, without iTunes mattering in this case.

Back to serious matters, I really am interested in an update that addresses the iPhone's shortcomings (MMS, Safari CONSTANTLY crashing).
There's an iLife update out now. Maybe this means that the iPhone update is coming as well.
Or, they might give us a couple of days to install the iLife updates before releasing the iPhone update. Just a thought...
I wonder if any of these iLife updates have anything to do with adding compatibility to come with a soon to be iPhone update?

I dont really think they care if we install these updates or not...Itll come by friday, and if it doesnt, ill be mad, unless of course its not released over the weekend, other than that, i dont care. Looking forward to the update though, AND HERES TO HOPING FOR iCHAT!!!

I highly doubt it...It seems that whatever feedback Apple gets from anyone regarding what they would like to see on a product goes into the round file. Apple just loves the fact that people are more than happy to take any scrap that falls from steve jobs table...I cite this thread as proof of that fact. Nobody knows what is in this update...Hell, we don't even know if this update is 1.1.1, but here is everyone frothing at the bit, hoping Steve Jobs will throw them some little table scrap...
So I'm new here...new to forums in general. Two things strike me. 1, how so many of us are drooling over this update, me included. And 2, that people find it necessary to attack other people in the forums over something that they are excited about, maybe passionate.
For me, being a mac geek is a hobby, so please let us who have an iphone speculate, wonder, and invest the time into writing in forums, gossiping about the new features, or whatever. The people that are making accusations about our family life and how we spend our time, seriously, I know you have hobby's, things you are passionate about. So make a forum for the things you want to hear about and talk about.
Let us fanatics have our fun, I think thats why we all come here, to gather information, rumors, it is called macrumors...right?

That's fine as long as all those fanatics promise not to whine when updates, etc. are delayed and/or don't have all the features that were rumored. They are rumors, after all.
Couple things: Apple curbs online music piracy to a huge extent by launching iTunes. Industry kicks Apple in the ass as thanks. Amazon is cheaper now because it's inventory is patchy and it's new. It's like a grand-opening sale. They'll go up. And some albums are $5.99 on iTunes, too. Non-DRM albums are $5.99 to $9.99 just like DRM albums; it's only the tracks that are $.30 more, and that's part of their deal with EMI -- presumably based on wholesale pricing. Not to mention 256kpbs AACs are perhaps twice the quality of 256kbps max VBR (unlike the spin, they are VBR, not straight 256kpbs compression) MP3s. I'll buy from Amazon, sure, but it's not the Holy Grail hidden over there.
Other thing: What an idiot. She has to read 9to5mac to know that Jobs/Wozniak were phone phreakers? This is in every bio and corporate magazine profile article of these two ever written. I just follow Apple history as a casual hobby and I well know this. And, sure, they eventually sold Blue Boxes to make phone phreaking easier for neophytes, sold them for *beer money*. They made pocket change off that operation. A lot of people took a lot of serious street drugs in their youths, too, and then they figured they better get under control for their last two years of undergrad, so they could get into grad school. So they cleaned up, went to grad school, and are successful today sans a street-drug habit. People grow up. Individuals maturing makes for a simpleton's irony.

Regardless, let's hope the update comes out, it's 4:05 PM in Cupertino so we'll see.
I wonder how exactly the updates are done as I assume Cupertino operates on a 9 AM - 5 PM schedule so how can updates be issued after "everyone" has left. Obviously people are still around but is there some sort of automated system that pushes the updates out at a time specified by Apple?
