Dammit. I'm back in London on Saturday - they better have some 16Gb phones left in Ox Street!

I've heard the Regent Street store has some. How lame would that be if all the O2 stores are out, but the Apple Store around the corner isn't? Thanks for not allowing upgrades in your stores, Apple... :(

That's been pretty much standard practice all along - plenty (or at least "some") stock for new customers, very restricted for existing owners.

Mind you, someone reported already that Apple (Regent street) were out of 16GB black today (though of course the Apple stores have white ones too...)

I suspect it's now too late for me to get my paws on one any time soon.
 
Just got a call from my local CPW (Knutsford) saying they had 3 black 16Gb iPhones in stock. I decided to pass on one, mainly because I have another year to run on my T-Mobile contract and there would have been hell to pay if I'd come home with an iPhone.
 
Well I went out for a quick 16Gb search in the end:

O2 Fenchurch St - none
O2 Old Broad St - none
O2 London Wall - none
O2 Angel - 8Gb only
O2 Holloway Rd - 8Gb only

So I'm waiting for tomorrows "Magic Friday the 25th" when the shops will suddenly miraculously fill with phones, let's see what happens... :rolleyes:
 
You may want to note, UPGRADING in a APPLE STORE is possible, just ring up O2 customer services after you signed another contract in the apple store and your old contract gets cut off for your new one.
 
Does anybody know much about CPW deliveries tomorrow?

My tracking status currently says:

Your order is being processed. Your order should have arrived on Thu, 24 Jul 2008.

This obviously makes no sense, and I expected to receive it tomorrow, so I'm not worried about it not being with me today.

I ordered at around 9:05, so I'm pretty sure my order was in before they sold out.

Hopefully tomorrow. Beats queueing anyway. ;)
 
Quick O2 in London update.

O2 Euston Station had some 8Gb iPhones in stock about an hour ago. No 16Gb ones.

No stock in 351 or 368 Oxford Street or The Kings Road.
 
16gb Black at Regent Street this morning

Got mine on a new contract from the Regent Street Apple Store today.

I arrived at 11am to a queue of about 15-20 people and queued for about an hour and twenty. They had loads of 8gb and White 16gb, and enough Black 16gb to cover to a few people behind me in the queue.

Spoke to the guy and it seems they're getting stock every day, and generally speaking run out of 16gb Black about midday. I'm reckoning from the queue and wait times they're getting about 60 16gb blacks a day.

Hope this helps some people out.

Feel pretty bad for those in need of an upgrade - good luck tomorrow.

White ones

What's the latest situation with the White 16Gb ones?

Are any of these likely to be in O2 or CW any time soon or just in Apple Stores? I remember some rumour (or fact!) saying that O2 and CW wouldn't be getting them until September.

Also ... off topic so apologies ... is the upgrade 'deal' a one-off offer? For instance if a 32Gb mode was released later in the year, could you then upgrade your 16Gb to a 32Gb at the discounted price? Or would you need to stump up the full cost?
 
I have been hunting for 16G black ever since launch day. And still am :(

Went to the O2 shop near work on Liverpool St, and dude told me they were expecting delivery before 12am. Called them in half an hour and they did get the delivery, but only 5 16G, which were of course sold out in 10 minutes! Bloody ridicules.

Called around London and most stores got a lot of 8G and 0-5 16G.
The good thing is it is now pretty easy to get a 8G.
Bad news - WTF with 16G supply? :mad:

I am sick and tired saying to myself "Ok, next week I will definitely get one".
 
o2 store in aintree has iphones

Hi All

I have got myself the 16gig 3g in black from the new o2 store in aintree, they are not officially open yet so stocks may not show up on web.

they have 8g and 16g black and will be getting more in stock for the grand oppening next week.

they are at the racecource retail park, ormskirk road, aintree, liverpool.

I went to exchange my iPhone (8GB Black) today, Carphonewarehouse in Crewe, Cheshire UK (manager) said they don't expect any stock for 2 weeks (from latest ETA's)
 
I went to the store Apple store in London on Tuesday but decided not to queue, now I'm giving up on getting my PAC from Vodafone and just switching over again to a new number. Hope they have phones when I'm there tomorrow.
 
i know it's late, but who's queueing tomorrow for black 16gb existing customer? and where? and what time?
i will be trying the strand o2 shop.
what would be a good time to start queuing?
and...do I risk being an idiot if they don't have new stock in tomorrow?
 
Called O2 this morning. O2 said they still don't have any iphones. I asked why the website states 25th July as the date for more stock, O2 just said, "check your local stores".

What a great help.

Just ignore them... Phone your two most local O2 stores at 0900 and you'll find one with stock.

I picked mine up yesterday from maidenhead and they had plenty of stock and no queues!

Thanks. I will do. I can be in the store in 30 minutes. Hopefully, I can get my hands on one. I hope they aren't reserved or something.

I don't think they are allowed to reserve any still.

I was watching the on-line list of stores with stock but gave up around 1030 yesterday and just phone to store.. they said they would have stock in about 20 minutes... I was there in 25. On-line stock info did not update until afternoon.

The stores are still not allowed to say how much stock they have. Just yes or no.

Seems to be a fair few 8Gb in Croydon

CPW and O2 stores in Croydon (I know, I know, but I'm at a client site) seem to have stock of 8Gb - but I get the pitying smile when I ask about 16Gb.
 
ordered mine yesterday evening from CPWH website. for a certain period of time they had 16gb available to buy instead of just the 8GB so i quickly snatched one up! This was about 6pm so i dont expect it to come today (fri 25th).
 
Any ideas whether there will be stock in the Apple store (Sheffield - UK) on Sunday? Is there stock coming in most days or will Friday (today) be the last shipment for a while?? I'm presuming that todays stock shipment will be all sold before Sunday.
