I made my reservation. Got this in the confirmation email.

What should I expect when I arrive at the store?
When you come in for your reservation, let a Specialist know you’re there to pick up your iPhone. To enroll in the iPhone Upgrade Program, you’ll need to provide the information listed above so that we can help you with the application process for the installment agreement, including a credit check, and activation of your iPhone. We can also help you with Personal Setup and answer all your questions. If you’re purchasing iPhone with a carrier plan, please allow at least 30 minutes to complete your purchase.
What do I need to bring?
To apply for the iPhone Upgrade Program you will need a current US credit card, your Social Security number and two forms of identification.
Can someone else pick up my reservation?
Items can be picked up only by the wireless account holder and people authorized on that account.
Can I change the iPhone Upgrade Program to a different purchase option?
You can also purchase your iPhone through carrier financing or at full price. Ask a Specialist in store for more information.
Can I change or cancel my reservation?
You can’t change or cancel your reservation online. However, if you’d like to change the model you reserved, a Specialist can check the availability of a different iPhone when you come in at your scheduled time. Due to high demand, the availability of some models and reservation times may be limited.
What if I’m late for my reservation time?
If you’re late, or if you miss your scheduled time altogether, we may not be able to hold the model you reserved, and you may have to make another reservation. So please arrive as close to your check-in window as possible.

Made mine as well. Though waiting for their site sucked, as now the model my wife wanted isn't available. Have to see what happens now after 9/25. :(

BL.

So I made two reservations frantically but realized I can't actually make the time I signed up for (I'd be half an hour late) - is there any way to change it?

And say if you reserved from 5:00-5:30, will they release your phone exactly at 5:31, or is there a grace period at all?

Sucks, had no idea you couldn't change it or I would have looked at my schedule more closely.

Just show up at that time, last year the stores were so packed they were running behind anyways, so they won't mind if it's only 30 min late. I think they hold the phone for at least a couple of hours.

Thanks! I'll give it a try.

looks like it wont work on att go phone sim card. i think i have to find out for the other route then.

I hope everyone made their reservation smoothly. The iPhone Upgrade Program Terms & Conditions finally exist now. It looks like it's not the great deal we all thought of it as. The credit card isn't just required to apply for the program, it's required to make the first payment and every installment after that, presumably for perpetuity if you plan to upgrade every year. So the question now is: are you willing to use a credit card for your payments? The loan might be 0% APR, but is your credit card? This is definitely a "gotcha" detail that Apple should have disclosed early on. I'm very disappointed by it.

It looks like to take advantage of this offer, I'd be more comfortable opening a secured credit card account to use to pay for the program, and simply paying it off within the grace period to avoid any interest. It's an unnecessary amount of work to be a part of this program, so I might just end up paying full price during my appointment and sticking with carrier subsidies every other year.

Reservations made, went pretty smooth on the site. I say reservations because I have found the last time slot is always the best, so I picked it at first but they don't let you pick a day, it just locks you in. Needless to say I can't leave work so I made another reservation for early in the afternoon. Silly they don't let you pick date and time, and they also don't let you alter a reservation time. I for see a lot of double bookings by people so there might be a decent number of phones released.

So I totally reserved an appointment for the full price option and not the upgrade plan like I wanted. With this be an issue?

LOL I did the same thing. This really shouldn't be an issue, you are just looking for an option to pay for the phone. Worst case scenario, I pay for the phone up front. Not the way I want to do it, but at least I have a phone reserved!

You're really just changing your method of payment.

The password reset fixed the issue, so thanks to everyone who made that suggestion. I wish I'd done it 20 minutes earlier, since the 64GB Space Grey 6S+s were unavailable at all five locations near me. I reserved a SG 64GB 6S, and a Silver 64GB 6S+...I guess I'll decide between the two when I get there. I wish there was a way to change or cancel reservations online, but when I show up, hopefully it all works out. Maybe I'll get lucky and they'll have a SG 6S+ available when I get there.

Same here as well, hopefully should be fine as the email mentions the plan. If not, oh well, I will just buy it.

I'm confused. I'm on he Apple Store app on my phone and I see no way to do the Upgrade Program. A store reservation button took me to a web page but it says nothing about the Upgrade Program as an option. Also, my only option is the 25th at 10:30, which is impossible because I'll be at work. No way to set the appt for the 26th? Not sure I'll be able to do this tonight after all..

Finding the upgrade program option was quite confusing honestly

I tried to use the upgrade program but the model I wanted was already sold out so I had to pay in full :( fricken stupid in my opinion. It's a service it shouldn't be limited to the store. I should be able to order it online and use the service. meh...
