Got similar email stating delivery on the 23rd.

Check shipping status and it arrived in Newark, NJ tonight from AK.

I'm in NYC.

Just read your post and checked my tracking again... Same here, but being delivered to Central Jersey.

You're missing my point. I'm saying the people were less than thrilled about last week. I'm not saying Apple cares.

Which is why they wouldn't release the phone to some people early and risk all the amazing buzz and press they're going to get on Thursday. You can view this as me pissing on hope, but I'm not. I'm being realistic based solely on the actions of Apple in the past. Your either learn from history or you don't. I reserve the right to be proven wrong, but after reading my own email from Apple, its more clear that someone imported the date from a spreadsheet or something similar and didn't proofread it after the dates were added.

Yes, but I also don't want to get mauled :D

I promised my friend that if I get mine on the 23rd that I would go with him at 6am on the 24th so that he doesn't have to go alone. I am also kinda afraid of getting mauled though, I might not try to show it off at the store... 'might' being the key word there... :D

Mine arrived in Memphis, TN about 2 hours ago... hmm. Maybe this is actually true...

Mine is at the Memphis hub as well - and as in the past it takes 1 day to get to my local hub and then out for delivery, so it looks like Wed's the day!:D

Dear Apple Store Customer,

You recently received a Shipment Notification email from Apple advising you that your iPhone has shipped.

This email is to confirm that your delivery will occur on June 23rd. Although Apple and FedEx tracking information may currently indicate a later date, you can check the FedEx website the morning of the June 23rd to track your package to your doorstep.

In the event that you will not be available to accept delivery on June 23rd, it may be more convenient to use our pre-sign delivery option by visiting our Order Status website at http://www.apple.com/orderstatus.

Sincerely,

The Apple Store Team

This actually seems fishy. It ended up in my junk folder. Also, since when are we greeted as "Apple Store Customer?" Not only that, but it's all text, since when does Apple send text only emails?

Something just doesn't seem right.

I have no clue what that means. Is this normal?

My guess is that this was a last minute change in policy, which is why fed-ex is taking a while to change the tracking info for everyone.
