Anyone else thinking about perusing down to their local Apple Store on the 23rd after they get their iPhone 4 to do a little gloating? :D

I'm gonna make sure everyone sees that I have an iPhone a day early! haha

I got the email an hour ago, too! My delivery date has always said 24th.
Currently my phone left Alaska at 3:20pm yesterday and is still in transit somewhere... so maybe it's the way to a hub and flying over Minneapolis.

I'm excited to wake up on the 23rd and see where it is!

I just got this email after I just checked fedex and my phone is in Oakland now ! I hope I get it on the 23rd

Same here, I noticed it just showed up in Oakdale a little while ago. Fedex tracking always had an "ESTIMATED" delivery date of 24th, which meant it could be earlier or later. Just now I got the Apple e-mail too about it being the 23rd despite the later date. I got my fingers crossed because on the 24th I'll be out of the state until Monday, I'd love to have it with me.

No, nearly everyone's tracking #'s said that they were coming on the 23rd. Apple wanted to clear this up but failed...miserably.

My tracking has always said the 24th. I got this email staying "hey! It's coming on the 23rd instead."

Is it REALLY a fail? I mean, how are you all so jaded? How is this NOT possible in some of your heads that this email is/may be the real deal? Why do you (most of you, at least) just expect the worst all the time?

It's quite entertaining!

Because there is absolutely no precedent for it.

no, give me some sleeping pills haha. I was about to go to sleep am hour ago until I saw the email! now I'm wide awake! haha
I just received the email for both of my orders. Mine are currently in Oakland, CA.

I heard that FedEx told Apple they didn't have the storage space nor the trucks to deliver them all in one day. I don't have any confirmation of that. It also makes sense to spread them out over two days if one can activate on the 23rd.

I think someone is having a sweet dream thats why its not on front page yet..... I was hoping this would be a year i got iphone on release date but looks like thats no happening as i reserved mine for pick up since trying to ship it didn't work first 100 times but reservation went thru on 99th.

Some of us are smart.

It's on the front page at Engadget. So if it's wrong, that will get the attention of someone at Apple and we'll get clarification sooner rather than later.

i too got the email a short while ago. my tracking shows its in Oakland CA, completely bypassing Memphis (all other order i have watched always pass via Memphis when coming from China, only when shipping from Elk Groove, CA does it not) a shipment from CA to Vegas is usually 1, maybe 2 days max, even with ground shipping.

As Garth says ... Change? We fear change.

Apple would never do something like this. They want news paper headlines to read "Apple sells millions of iPhones as pre-orders are rushed around the country." They wouldn't want people to get the phone early and ruin the exclusive feel that those people waiting in line get.

Exactly. Some people believe in Santa though, and I guess in its own way thats kinda sweet...and sad.

My iPad 64GB 3G came through Oakland. All of the accessories I ordered for it went through Memphis.

Right, much like apple would never leave seams on a device...

And yet, here's this e-mail.

And yet, some of us may get the phone on the 23rd.

I say... let's take the e-mail for what it is, and let's not read that far into a 3 sentence e-mail, okay? I'm gonna take it at it's word.
