The iphone's HDR capability for video watching has not leaked yet. Shhhhhhh....it may not be there. :D

If they do go into HDR and they follow the mobile HDR Premium codec or HDR10 codec, that will decide which HDR format gets the most support surely.

It'll be the proprietary AppleHDR codec just to fragment standards and piss everyone off. Like they're doing with Qi.

IPhone X-S (“Excess”) :p

4gb really should’ve happened on this year’s iPhone X imo

No reason it couldn’t have, aside from to save $3 on that extra gig per unit

(Inb4: but $3 x millions and millions... yea yea, or its not $3 more like $7, etc)

No matter how many millions of phones they sell, that $3 is still the same percentage of their costs, so it doesn't change the math regardless how successful the phone is.

It might be the future if TimMAY has his way. I think this might be his downfall.

Steve Jobs would have hounded engineers until madness to get them to fix TouchID under the glass. Not Timmy boy.

I have yet to hear a credible explanation of how someone is going to unlock an iPhone X w/ FaceID while driving a car.

I agree to you ! Regarding faceid while driving. Probably no.

Does "5.8-inch" mean that the device will have the size of an iphone 7 plus?

I sure hope not because to me the iPhone 7 Plus is just slightly too big physically compared to Android phones with similar screen sizes.

As for RAM, it's just Apple bean counters at work once again. 2 GB RAM is really bare minimum and might end up with apps and tabs reloading a bit too often which is more bearable on a tablet than on a phone where you usually want things to happen right away. While the over 4 GB RAM in Android phones is way excessive, I would like to see the iPhone 8 and X to all have 3-4 GB. While having only 3 is unlikely to pose any real world issues right now, it might 2-3 years from now.

You're 100% right. No one has told us how we are supposed to drive and use the phone at the same time. Probably because no one thought we'd ever have a need to unlock our phone while driving. Spoiler alert: We don't.

Don't be that guy.

Details about the unreleased iPhones Apple will announce on Tuesday continue to trickle out from the iOS 11 golden master

BIGGEST iPhone release in TEN YEARS! ...

... 3GBs of RAM.

"Nothing to see here. Move along... move along..."

Sometimes we do. Let's be honest, we all have.

just enough so that it'll slow down by the time iOS 12 is out

My thoughts exactly. iOS 10.3.3 runs well on the iPad Pro 10.5 and iPad mini 4. I use the device to read, browse, watch videos and some times draw. The new features in iOS 11 are nice but I will hardly touch those feature for it a worthy upgrade if it slows down the device. I think as long as I stay with the curroios 19.3.3 I hope I will be fine.

They should have kept the 7s & 7s Plus names and add the iPX, instead of changing it to 8...

Either way im waiting for the next SE version, or whatever they want to call it, as long as they'll keep the same physical size-shape-weight.

Currently, the iPhone 7 Plus has 3GB RAM while the iPhone 7 has 2GB RAM, with the 7 Plus featuring more RAM to support the dual-lens camera.
That doesn't sound totally right. An additional lens requires 1GB?

That said, it'll be worth it if it magically takes horizontal video when held vertically. It's not rocket science ;)

3 gig is enough? Try using a site like imgur, and have another two tabs, and see if 3 gig is enough. It's not.

It's about sensor orientation. The "sensor" orientation in that is horizontal. I'm assuming the sensor orientation in the X will be vertical if you hold it vertical.

Really don’t get all the complaining on this one. 3gb should be plenty. 2gb should be absokutely sufficient too. Not sure how long folks expect their phone to last but unless you’re keeping this for 3+ years your 2gb should be nothing to worry about.

Yes. I have an iPhone 7 and never had any issues due to low RAM. I never kill my web pages just add a new one. The extra RAM in the 7s is because of the camera, nothing else. 7 doesn't have the fancy camera so doesn't need the extra RAM. Pretty easy to understand. It's like people complaining Honda Civic have 16" tires when the Pilot Touring has 20".

The lens doesn't use RAM but it does take more horsepower to process those photos.

The phone industry has really got it made. $1k products that cost a service fee to use and need replacing every 2-3 years. And defended by everyone as absolutely necessary for "progress". Aka animoji.
