Things get moved and merged at times and that's what seems to have happened in this case--my reply that you quoted was posted in a recent thread on the topic that was created to link to existing threads about it all, and at some point that thread seems to have gotten merged into one of the earlier threads (one of the ones that I also linked to), while my post has remained in it all as part of the merge.
Ohh, gotcha lol

I had try all solution, but after few time, all came back same.
I’m very tired for this situation.
[doublepost=1517400422][/doublepost]Also after a new factory restore and new phone, the situation came back same. I don’t know why there i’snt a solution.

Guys, pay attention to the apps you have installed and its battery usage shown in Settings. In my case Facebook was causing this behaviour because of a permanent background activity. Disabling background app refresh didn’t help but after deleting and reinstalling the app the phone is sleeping as it should, problem solved :).

I have no Facebook... and like I said. They swapped my iPhone already three times and every time I did set it up as new, no back up. And no apps for 4 days. Also no ICloud sign in.

The problem occurred then too.

Don't worry, the beauty of this issue is that it's recurrent, I will do the same as you as I also have Facebook. I will see if the issue comes back. I sincerely hope not, but until now, the issue always re-occurs.

You are right, after a week the problem is back and this time Facebook isn't causing the issue so I'm lost now! What about setting the iPhone as new phone? Is it worth it ?

I want to know if it's a HARDWARE issue or SOFTWARE. If it's HARDWARE, i'm fighting my way through the genius to get a replacement iPhone.

Clearly it's a SOFTWARE bug. My battery is not draining faster, I still have around 40% left at night after an intense day of usage.

I did set my phone up as new 3 times. And got a new IPhone 3 times. And the problem still occured, so I would not do it!

This week it’s very bad. When it occurs I have to recharge 2 times a day, (so my phone is draining faster, when the stand-by and usage time are normal then I can use my phone for 1,5 day before I need to put it on the charger). And it occured 4 days in a row. Also my data from app use is gone again. Normally you can see what apps used the battery and you can toggle between last 24 hours and last 7 days. But I can only see for the last 6 hours now.. Is someone having that issue too?

My previous phone had this too, that the app use data is empty. The one the Apple store took in 3 weeks ago.. and now this iPhone has the same!

You had your phone replaced for this? And it re-occurred? So it's not the phone issue? I'm really worried, my phone drops 15% overnight when this happens, instead of 2-3%.

Yes, an iPhone 7 is what I have, so no iPhone x, but exactly the same problems that are described here. First replacement was 1st of december, than end of december and 3 (?) weeks ago was the third replacement. But the previous one had a haptic feedback motor that also did not work, so that replacement was for that also. But had the battery problem too! Apple care and the genius bar don’t know whats causing it. I did send them the link to this forum and they agreed that it is the same problem that I am facing. But no resolution...

Yes mine drops also between 12% and 40% overnight! Last night it didn’t occur and my phone was 100% this morning and now it is still 78% at almost 2 pm and that’s with heavy use! A few phone calls and taking a lot of photographs and using some photo editing apps.. when the problem is there (with overnight draining etc) than I have to recharge the battery 2 or 3 times a day.

Oh and every time I got a remanufactured iPhone.. so no new one. They say that you never get a new one. So also not happy with that. I have to drive very long for visiting an apple store ;-) and the second replacement was a very faulty phone with lots of problems (haptic feedback that did not work, yellowish screen, couldn’t make phone calls without noise etc etc).

If you don't mind tinkering with it, first try the following, delete all apps except Apple branded ones.
I saw a post here, someone calibrated the battery and he said it never happened after. I will try this.

I'm so pissed lmao. Went to sleep at a good 40%, woke up at 25%.

I have the same problem. Nothing not help to me. I reset settings of network, factory reset without backup etc.
Maybe it's fault any program? Which program do you use? It's my list of programs which i usually use:
Facebook, snapchat, instagram, google maps, netflix, youtube, musi, messenger, spotify, shazam, badoo.
Rest of programs i rarely use.

If you have a 15% drop overnight then you have something doing background work.

There is no app causing it. Read my replies.. it’s something in the iOS.
I had no apps for 4 days on every replacement phone and it occurred too. And never background activity from apps cause I have the battery saving mode always on. And WiFi s not on at night and airplane mode is on at night... and still it drains some nights.

Ok there is something you can try. The next time when standby and usage are same let the iPhone on so it will turn off when the battery is empty. Then go to: Settings--> Data protection (Datenschutz in Germany)--> Anlaysis (below) --> Anlaysis Data = and there search for "LowBatteryLog". There you will see what drains your battery. For me it is "mediaserverd: com.apple.audio.VAD". Search on Google for that and you will find some People with that error. That service is an Apple service thats seems buggy and not a app.

So that prevents sleep/standby for 29h.... Usage and standby will be the same...

Did you check this?

So if it will be the same time "mediaserverd: com.apple.audio.VAD", how to repair this?

There is always an app causing it. Just because you don't see it in the Usage tab doesn't mean it's not the answer. High battery drain occurs when the CPU doesn't go into deep sleep and the higher performing cores are left either on or barely on.

Okay let me put it this way. The engineering’s team from apple care had my sys files. And they noticed that it was not an app causing it. I had my phone replaced for three times already, since December 1st

Did they diagnose your battery as faulty?
No battery was still 95% healthy, the first one that they replaced. I had used that iPhone 7 for 9 months. Then the ‘problem’ occured since november.

The other phones were 100% healthy (battery).

They didn’t tell me what the problem was after I did send the sys files to the enigineerings team. They only said that they needed to replace my phone at the Apple store. And so I did (3 times..). But the exact same problem occurs on all the replacements. And I didn’t use a back up every time. I even used it without logging in into iCloud and it occured too. So that’s why I think it has to do with the iOS. Also because it started in november on iOS 11.1.? it was I think?
