It’s supposed to start shipping at the end of January, but the X version is way down on the list. They posted a production list of devices, I just looked for it and couldn’t find it, but it showed a lot of other phones being produced before the X. They are making the Grip for older phones first. They said they already had the molds ready for older phones. With Chinese New Year my guess is it won’t be out anytime soon. Hopefully I’m wrong.

im a backer with an X and got an 2 update emails over the weekend from Dbrands. iphone x is top of the production list and seems based on their timelines late feb/early march will be the first shipments. they are trying to get it all filled before china takes off for the month of feb (chinese new year), air shipping and then processing/labeling out of Canada once the china shipment is recieved

I am one of the backers who ordered the DBrand Grip for the iPhone X. I am in Hong Kong and can tell you that if China doesn't complete the production before Chinese New Year, there will be a 1 month delay. Factories in China will be closed for 3 weeks to a month. Actually Chinese New Year Holidays in HK are from 16th Feb to 19th Feb but many factories will be closed from 12th Feb onwards for 3 to 4 weeks.

Damn, that does bring back memories! The branding kills it for me though :( How are the buttons?

Currently rocking this bumper from grfxp.com, i opted for the high-gloss black to pair with the silver X, it's really nice and so thin it feels like it's barely there. Currently my go-to case.

Just bought Silver and Glossy Black. It's perfect and absolutely doesn't ruin the look of the iPhone X. I've tried the K11 having owned one for the 6S Plus and the updated version from K11 is simply atrocious. It feel nothing like the previous model and takes away the sleek look of the X. Oh well. I'm gad I found these guys and very happy with it.

I'm still 100% satisfied with my K11. Haven't even had or felt the need to try something else.
I second this. K11 is the best bumper. Love it on the frame of my beautiful gorgeous eye catching attention getter silver iPhone X. I can feel and touch the beautiful back glass and the superb silver is not covered with anything like I am using the phone naked but still protected.

I'm still rocking my Grfxp Nova, K11 is really nice but it just doesn't feel comfortable to me. I wish they could have made the lips a little less "square" it makes the phone feel too thick.

Great video jlczl.

I'm a first time poster and I'm so happy to have come across this thread. I've been buying so many cases but I've been looking for the perfect bumper. I've been having the hardest time finding it. One that protects but is appealing to me. I currently have the Dbrand Red Dragon skin on the back with a Patchworks clear back case. That one and the Hummix glass back case are the best clear back cases I have found for the iPhone X that work with my Whitestone screen protector. Here is my assessment of the bumper cases I've been looking at.

1. Nova Bumper: looks good and I love how it appears to be part of the phone but I'm a little worried about how much protection I would get. Appearance wise, these look most similar to the Spigen Neo Hybrid bumper I had on my 6.
2. Rhinoshield: crashguard and mod seem too thick and slippery. Best protection though. This would be a compromise for the look I wanted.
3. Fusion Bumper: I like the idea of this bumper. It's a possibility.
4. K11 Bumper: I like this one as well. Previous lines they released had issues (ie hard to press buttons and sharp edges) but it appears they react quickly to resolve these issues. Love to see that out of a company. This is one I may pick-up and try.
5. Dbrand Grip: This is one I would like to try. My worry is it may be too grippy. Plus it won't be released to the public until maybe March. Well, I may pick one up then.
6. Dynamic Defender: I have ordered this bumper from Amazon. After doing all of this research, I came across this one and it intrigued me. I thought I would give it a try. The reviews mention it is very grippy but I'll have to see for myself. If not too grippy then the Dbrand Grip may be an option when it comes out to the public. Not too happy about the branding on the back but if I really like the case, I'll just remove it.

I'm going to try and attach a review. If I'm unable too, I'll apologize in advance.

Edit: This review is for the 8plus but I ordered mine for the X. Just ordered it today. I also, attached another video.

I've used both Rhinoshield and K11 bumper, but ever since I got the Nova Bumper it's been my favourite.

The Rhinoshield felt a bit big and slippery and the buttons are very loose/flimsy.
The K11 looks good but I found the plastic edges to be pretty sharp, so it would hurt my little pinky over time. The buttons are very hard to push, and sometimes the bumper itself would slide up on the sides if I put some pressure on it while holding it.

The Nova Bumper looks the best in my opinion, it looks the most original. Grip and buttons are perfect. I have the High Gloss colour, and my only "complaint" is that over time the paint will chip, but I guess this is true with every aluminum painted products.

Okay, I received the Dynamic Defender from Amazon.

What I like: 1. Looks great. 2. It’s thin. 3. Feels solid. 4. Great grip and not difficult to pull out of my pocket which was an original concern. 5. Tight fit. 6. Not too difficult to put on or take off. 7. Does not interfere with my Whitestone glass protector which curves around the edges. 8. Does not interfere with my Dbrand skin on the back. 9. Does not interfere with reception. 10. Lip on front is raised above the front screen including the glass protector and on the back going above the camera bump. 11. Power button is easy to depress. 12. Cutouts are spot on.

What I would like to change: 1. Branding on the back of the bumper. They could have made it less obvious. May try to scape it off. Maybe rubbing alcohol will work. 2. Volumn buttons are a medium difficulty to depress. Not hard but not easy like the ease of the power button. I’ll try working the buttons with the case off. Maybe this will loosen them up. I know it probably wouldn’t bother 90% of the people out there but I wanted to mention it. 3. Wish they offered it in a black. My color is like a dark gray.

Hits all the points for what I was looking for in a bumper. Thin, protective, good looks, not slippery and works with my protector and skin. All in all I’m impressed and for folks that love bumpers, I would seriously give it a try.

i've got the high gloss black Nova too, looks amazing. So far, no issues with the coating and i've been using it pretty regularly, but wouldn't expect it to survive if it was dropped (like any other case for that matter!) Good thing is that they are pretty cheap if you need to replace.

Thank you jlczl. Glad it’s working. By the way, I’m really diggin having a bumper set up again.

Update: It’s been a few days and I really like this bumper. I have found that if your hands are dry, the bumper can feel just a little slick. This is not a deal breaker as it is grippier than any other cases I have tried. Just worth mentioning. I would purchase again.

Did you or anyone else notice that this bumper has a "Read this before use" and it essentially says the following:

"The Dynamic Defender System is proven to be able to cancel the impact in the experiment. Please do not severely or intentionally drop to avoid permanent deformation and damage to your phone"

So does it protect from drops or not?

Basically they're just saying there's a limit to what it will protect against (i.e. severe drop) and don't drop it on purpose to find out.

I suspect this is just their disclaimer. I would imagine all case manufactures could list this in their description. The only way we could truely find out is if someone tested it out with their own phone. I sure am not willing to do this. I’m not willing to do a test with a Rhinoshield or any other case as well. Maybe someone will eventually test it on YouTube.

I returned the bumper. The gray looks awful on the black phone. Can’t imagine how they concluded gray would be better than black. I asked the company about black and they never responded.

I had it and returned it as well. It's a great idea but I also didn't like the grey color. The grip is great but unfortunately it's a lint/dirt magnet and the trade off to me just wasn't worth it. If they could make it actual BLACK and also figure a way to give it grip without attracting dirt it would be a home run. As it is right now IMO it's just a solid double.

Yep. Agree with the gray assessment. I too would have preferred black however I like that it protects well and has grip. Nonetheless, it is a bumper That I’ll keep as part of my case collection. I’ve also ordered the Hummix bumper in silver.
The K11 might be next and then the Dbrand grip once it’s available to the public.
