I just hope Apple slides the prices down. I want an X Plus at X prices in 2018. Otherwise, spending $1,600+ on a X Plus smartphone is silly and not worth it in my eyes.
The report also claims Samsung has achieved around a 90 percent yield rate, compared to around 60 percent earlier this year, meaning it is getting more efficient at making OLED displays that live up to Apple's strict quality standards.

Reading the sentence "...more efficient at making OLED displays that live up to Apple's strict quality standards." makes my iPhone X turn Blue...
Seriously, after so many years throwing crap at OLED screens and all the BS in the presentation about "an OLED good enough for iPhone" and their efforts to "minimize" the issues with OLED panels, and they give us... a panel with exactly the same issues as any other OLED (and better calibration, that is true). The good X panels are certainly on par with the best from Samsung, but it is so extremely difficult to get a good one... I guess 1000$ is not enough to demand that the main element of the phone is a little bit consistent.

I'd still prefer the current plus screen in a smaller body than a larger screen that really isn't with the weird aspect ratio and notch in the same sized body.
The iPhone X screen is already too tall to use comfortably. I can't imagine a plus sized one.
Despite the Plus models only being 5.5” and the X 5.8”, the Plus will show much larger video thanks to its aspect ratio.Am I missing something? How is from 5.7" to 5.7" a downsize? Plus will be great, agreed!
Where did you see me say Samsung overall? Pretty sure I said somebody. Also, not sure how you came to the conclusion that if Display is making money selling to Apple, Mobile has to be losing money. There's no logic that supports that assumption. Mobile making or losing money has nothing to do with Display's business. Both divisions can make money.
Why are so many people upset that Apple utilized the space to the left/right of the sensors rather than leaving it as a bezel?
Agree. For my iPhone X, I'd much rather have the regular IPS panel that's on my 6+.
There's no 100% proof that Apple installed a backdoor into iOS so that the US government can get secret access. So why would anyone say that?I never claimed you said Samsung overall. I simply commented that not everyone in Samsung would be happy (specifically Samsung Mobile).
You make assumptions here that are unsupported by logic. There's no 1:1 relationship with sales of iPhones and Sammy's S8 (just using that model as a placeholder for Samsung flagships). An iPhone purchase doesn't equate to a lost sale for Samsung. Nothing supports that thought process. Apple could break every iPhone record imaginable and sell 100 million iPhones. During that exact same timeframe Samsung could break their all time S8 sales record and sell 40 million (example number) S8's. That's not lost sales by any stretch. Samsungs flagship sales are affected more by Android competitors than any competition with iPhones. Am I getting S8+ or a Pixel XL or One+5, LG V30, etc. The shift from Android to iOS/iOS to Android is far less of an occurrence than the shift from Android brand to Android brand. The iPhone and Samsung flagship devices are competitors fighting over the same customers. Apple releasing a new iPhone selling in record quantities isn't going to be good for Samsung Mobile, as it will have an impact on their flagship sales. One of the signature features of the iPhone X is the screen. So Samsung Semi, by providing Apple with these screens, is going to be partially responsible for lost sales over at Samsung Mobile.
I didn't downsize. Just decided to keep my iPhone 6s Plus instead of getting this year's iPhone.the fact that APPLE made all PLUS owners downsize really sucked! so i'm hoping this is really happening next Sept. when new iPhones are released. X now is great but the Plus size will be magnificent!
Then you have a limited imagination. The iPhone X screen is already too tall to use comfortably. I can't imagine a plus sized one.

Samsung Display will supply Apple with between 180 and 200 million flexible OLED displays for the iPhone in 2018, up from an estimated 50 million this year, according to The Korea Herald's sister publication The Investor.
While the report focuses on the iPhone X, it's likely that a portion of the OLED displays will go towards the "iPhone X Plus" rumored to launch alongside the second-generation iPhone X in the second half of 2018.
Like the Galaxy Note 8, the iPhone X Plus is expected to have a 6.4-inch display, but its overall physical size will likely be closer to an iPhone 8 Plus. Meanwhile, the next iPhone X will likely retain its 5.8-inch display.
With both a full year of iPhone X sales and the addition of the iPhone X Plus to the lineup in 2018, Apple will undoubtedly need many more OLED displays, so today's report about Samsung quadrupling its production next year makes sense. Samsung could reportedly gain an extra $22 billion in revenue from the orders.
The report also claims Samsung has achieved around a 90 percent yield rate, compared to around 60 percent earlier this year, meaning it is getting more efficient at making OLED displays that live up to Apple's strict quality standards. This could lead to improved shipping estimates for next year's launch.
The new iPhone X and iPhone X Plus will likely launch around the usual timeframe of September to October, potentially alongside a new 6.1-inch mid-range model with an LCD display that is predicted to start at around $649 to $749.
There's no word on how much the iPhone X Plus could cost yet, but given the iPhone X starts at $999, the larger version should have a four-digit price tag. Apple charges a $100 premium for other Plus-sized iPhones, so it's possible the iPhone X Plus could start at around $1,099, but it's too early to say.
Apple is likely to remain dependent on Samsung for supply of OLED displays next year, but the company is reportedly investing billions into LG building OLED display production lines dedicated to the iPhone by 2019.
