iPhone X Pre-Orders Sell Out as Shipping Estimates Slip to 5-6 Weeks [Updated]

Same issue I had. IUP failed MISERABLY on my iPhone Apple store app. I closed and opened the app a dozen + times, since it never even tried to refresh on it’s own. Just showed the store as being down well past 15 minutes after launch.

Ended up buying outright via my iPad safari browser.

I got “screwed over” by doing it the way Apple told me to do it. The app was a miserable failure. This sucks. I’ll live obviously, but I didn’t wake myself up at 2:55 am to still have to wait.
 
Had a gut feeling the App would fail, so was lucky to stay behind at work this arvo and use the super fast internet to order via website, the only issue was to add iPhone X to bag then go back and add another one quickly!!! Bypassed all the accessories as ill buy locally - but 2 x Space Grey's in 64GB will do us fine... got 2-3 weeks for a down under Aussie customer x-fingers that delivers within the time frame given. Must have been that lucky bunch inside the 12minute window. Got home to find 5-6 weeks now thats hard to swallow. #keentounboxiphonex

Mine sort of says Nov 3, but some areas may be delayed 2-5 days. Thats not good since Nov 3 is a Friday, so that may be mid the following week. The Mrs was a few minutes behind and got an email that said she missed the pre-order stock so it could be weeks for her, and my son STILL has not got his email and he was a minute or two behind me, but the screen said order was OK.

Delivery of your order
Pre-orders for the Apple iPhone X will be delivered as of 3rd November, 2017. Some orders may take between 2-5 business days to arrive, subject to delivery location.

If you would like to cancel your plan and order after it has been approved, Early Termination Charges will apply. Billing will start once your service is activated.

Happy happy joy joy! Pickup November 3rd at the Store. I had the app and my laptop open at the same time. The app had the ordering open first but I got confused that there was no straight up unlocked option. Migrated to the laptop to see if there was anything different but nope, I had to enter in my AT&T info. I was frantic during those few minutes I was losing out on ordering lol.
 
I think I scored one off EE. I think. I have a confirmation email. But I'm not sure. Anyways, expensive at £100 a month, but seems equivalent to my current contract + apple upgrade plan cost + insurance.

Same boat. Got two for the 3rd for in-store pickup. CC hasn’t been charged.

Anyone else have their order changed? Had ordered four phones and received confirmation via email of this order but when checking status only one phone is listed?

Yeah I had completed mine in 8 minutes (256GB Space Grey) and got the email at 10 minutes after it opened (2 mins after I ordered), so I may be one of the lucky ones
 
That launch was about as smooth as I could have asked for. Pre authorizing through the Apple upgrade program made things so simple. Aside from being on the East coast and having to wake up at 10 to 3 this morning, got in at 3:04am via the app and was able to order the 256 space gray for delivery on Nov 3rd!

I paid in full for my first phone and went back to buy another and was told “you are eligible for only one upgrade per account” which made no sense since I wasn’t upgrading. I did manage to order a second one through AT&T but it says delivery date is not guaranteed, which means it’ll likely be delayed big time.
 
I had the app on my iPhone, and my iPad, constantly force quitting/reloading, a browser on my iMac doing an auto refresh every 2s, (all of those at home in Canada), and a browser on another mac (via Remote Desktop) in Vegas (MacMiniCo).

All had the Apple Store down until my Mac at home loaded first at 3:12. Shipping dates were already 2-3 weeks by then.

You'd think if Apple is going to create a race to order the product, they'd at least have all of the servers go online at the same time.

I ordered 4 phones and they went through correctY. I have an email with 4 upgraded, but when I check the status only 1 phone shows as being upgraded. It's strange.

You are putting your thoughts on a message board, so I’m not sure what you expect. Almost all the people on here are strangers to almost all the other people on here...

It is dramatic, though, that someone (a posting member of MR, no less) would go diametrically from the point of staying up late at night waiting to preorder the new iPhone to the opposite point of completely giving up Apple forever because they have to wait an extra week.

The only “buy it now” offer is now listed at €3000.

All others are regular auctions, we’ll see how high they’ll go.

Rich people who want the latest gadget. There are tshirts that go for €1500... the universe of rich people has a different physics than ours.
